Really good pupusas! They are not skimpy with the fillings. We had the chicharron con queso and just plain queso pupusas and BOMB! The salsa was a little too salty for my taste but other then that amazing flavors and the curtido was good too. This place is always poppin! It's always a good time when I walk in, they have the Latin music on loud and you can watch the music videos on their huge tv. My toddler loves it here and always busts out in dance when we walk in haha! Santa Ana cafe is a delicious surprise nestled quietly next to a liquor store on the east side of town. I've driven past it so many times because it's easy to miss, but once you find it you'll never forget it. They prepare and cook delicious pupusas made to order! It's usually a sweet little grandma which you can see making them behind the register. I think I've tried them all and my favorites are the spinach with cheese as well as the squash and cheese. The cabbage topping is my favorite though! I don't know what it is about it but it's the best I've tried in town! It's zesty and refreshing and really makes the dish stand out. My second favorite is the coctel de camarón, it's perfect for a hot day but I love it year round. They don't skimp on the avocado and it's always thick and full of flavor! It's a very spacious restaurant and can easily accommodate large groups as well as children. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because sometimes the dishes are inconsistent with flavor/texture but for the most part still great! Give it a try! read more

I've been here before and I thought it was okay. It I ordered take out off of yelp and I was really surprised. I love Central American food. Their tamales are a so good. I love them wrapped in banana leaves and how soft the masa is. Aside from that I order red pupusas. I've never had such flavorful filling in my life. The chicharrones was amazing. Salty and with a bite was a great contrast to the slaw. The cheese one was good and so was the mixed one. The masa was so soft and thin and crisp on the outside. I'm drooling talking about it. There's a huge chain in VEGAS that does Central American food but this is so much better. Central American food is similar to Mexican food but also super different. You're able to order to go or sit down and be served restaurant style! Even was brought some chips & salsa when I sat down, which I wasn't expecting. The waitress was so sweet and quick with her service with the ENTIRE restaurant! I ordered a pupusa and chilaquiles which were both so so good. Everything was so good! Pupusas are big and perfect. My favorite was the calabasa y queso..squash and cheese. I was craving platanos fritos and theirs did not disappoint. Had a Mexican breakfast this morning with my 3 Hispanic friends. It was my first Mexican breakfast and it was delicious...scrambled eggs with cactus which I have never had before. I always see cactus in the grocery store but never bought it because I had no idea how to prepare it, not to mention what it tastes like. I was not disappointed and finished the plate clean. The condiments are the best here and also there chicken pupusas. I definitely recommend to mix the spicy salsa with there red tomato sauce. People that have digestive problems with certain cheese's should be careful, my wife had a upset stomach for 10 hours because of the cheese. read more

Not only was I given a 15-25min estimated time for my order to be ready for pick up,... it took a total of 50 minutes for me to get my food. If I wanted to come in and sit for an hour I wouldn't have put my order in online. My burrito was cold and felt like it came out of the refrigerator. And it didn't even seem like it was a California burrito as it was missing the fries. But I was only able to take one bite as , well it was cold and so it disgusted me at the thought of it possibly sitting in fridge for who knows how long. This place should not accept anyone near closing time. We went with my family because my grandma was craving pupusas and the lady that helped us has 0 customer service. First of all the pupusas were burned and taste gross and the tamal was over cooked. But the food wasn't the worst part I understand that restaurant have to close and clean but wait until all the customers leave. We were in the middle of eating our food and the smell of all the chemicals they used to mop made me want to throw up. And that's not it she swept as we were eating and I could see dirt going everywhere!! Worst experience ever! I really wish I could give 4.5 stars. This place isn't quite a 5-star place, but it is really solid. As soon as we sat down, we were met with a basket of chips and salsa. I don't know if they make their chips in-house, but they are delicious. Warm, light, crispy, and kinda airy. Salsa is solid. We ordered pupusas and a platano frito plate with beans and cream. The fried plantains were perfect - hot, sweet, and caramelized. The cream is Salvadorean sour cream, which is a bit looser than your standard sour cream, and with more salty than sour flavors. Refried beans were what you would hope for. Mix the three elements together and you have the perfect Salvadorean breakfast bite. The pupusas come with a generous jar of curtido -- there's nothing worse than ordering pupusas and only getting a pinch of curtido on the side... there is plenty to go around here. We tried the bean/cheese, loroco, and chorizo flavors. Chorizo was an interesting twist from the usual; certainly not traditional Salvadorean flavor, but it was yummy. Most pupusas had some cheese coming out the side which got fried and crispy on the flat top. Yum. Solid, solid pupusas. I can't speak to their Mexican dishes, but the Salvadorean offerings and chips/salsa did not disappoint! read more

Food here is always good! I come here at least 3-4 times a month. The servers are always very nice. Usually there's only one server so just be patient. It's not easy handling table orders, to go orders, running food and bussing tables on your own. Other than that I'm never dissatisfied. I love that they give you chips and salsa while you wait for your food. Also, I'm not big on loud music while I eat BUT I love that they have cumbias on when I go in! When you look on the outside of this place it looks like your average hole in the wall restaurant but, they have the best pupusa in town, hands down !! When you walk in there are tables and booths and the waitress will greet you and you can pick your table. They have a variety of different pupusas. I haven't eaten here in a while so I ordered 3 different pupusas. One with beans and cheese, one with pork and one with just cheese. I also always order a side of fried sweet plantains with beans and sour cream. All of the pupusas have a very unique flavor. The cheese one is super cheesy and salty. The bean and cheese one is salty with a smooth savory taste from the beans. The pork one is full of different spices and flavors. All of the pupusas were delicious, seasoned perfectly and so moist. I always like to add the cabbage and red sause that they bring which pairs perfectly with the rich flavor of the pupusas and give a touch of freshness. The plantains are a perfect combo of sweet and salty with the savory flavor from the beans and sour cream with the sweetness of the plantains.
