He immediately pulled out a map and walked us through all the must-see attractions, including the windmills, museums, chocolate shops, bakeries, and other points of interest. He really impressed me, like a kind old grandpa, he told us which bakery items were famous and worth trying and how to plan our short visit efficiently. He marked everything down on the map for us so we wouldn't miss anything. Later that day, when we walked by around 5:30 PM, I saw him getting ready to close for the day and sweeping the floor. Theres also a small outdoor garden to explore and also an overlook area at top of the building. Also, a ranger program was happening when I came here discussing the sea kelp that exist here. Great for everyone, but I'd imagine small kids would love it. A volunteer greeted us when we got there and provided us with some information about Channel Islands National Park. Very friendly and very helpful. They have a beautiful garden outside to explore. You can also go to the 3rd floor and there's a tiny overlook that, on a clear day, you can see Santa Cruz in the distance. They said there's a theatre, but we didn't have time to visit it. All in all, a wonderful visitor center that is worth a stop during your Channel Islands adventures.

The friendly, courteous, informative staff will answer all your questions about what to do or see. There are many boutiques (my wife likes to spend $$$ in them), specialty shops, restaurants, Danish bakeries, more than a dozen wine tasting rooms, all within walking distance. Many museums and motels to spend a night. Solvang is the perfect getaway almost year round.

Their buyers definitely have a sharp eye. Service was super friendly and informative there was a young woman on a Saturday who was knowledgeable and informative. I wanted to pick up items I would not kill in a day and I appreciate that she helped me understand how to care for them. I could have spent the whole day exploring all their plants. I also really liked that my kids were able to learn how orchids are grown in their education section. My daughter was inspired for her science project. ALSO don't sleep on their produce. Sweetest berries I have never had! Cucumbers were ok. But those berries were incredible.

We find that plants are priced higher than usual. This maybe the fact that vendors had to pay for the vendor booths hence the increase in prices. So we decided to visit this nursery in our way home. This nursery looks very clean and organized. There are even seats provided if you want to read a book while surrounded by the beautiful plants and flowers. We went around freely. There doesn't seem to be any customer service available but no big deal as the plants were grouped and priced accordingly. We brought our plants to the counter and paid for it. It's actually much cheaper than the ones sold in the show.

Really an awesome place to go hiking on any given day. They have amazing trails and you can go all…read morethe way up to the top. Make it a day for hours of nature and to enjoy the great weather that the area provides. Defnitely wear good hiking shoes, make sure to bring water, your phone and/or camera, watch for wild animals and snakes and don't go alone if you're new. Otherwise, it's a very nice and cheap way to spend your day and get a little exercise.
