    Me and guide Hannah

Such a fun day in the Funk Zone eating our way around with guide Hannah. The food was yummy and company was great to spend the day with!

Our Solvang tour with Cameron was an experience of a lifetime. And no this is not an exaggeration. From seeing pictures of this magical town of Solvang online, photographs, and through other people's experiences, I got to experience the city this past weekend. The town itself has such great, healing, and positive energy. There are so many restaurants, brewhouses, and wine tastings everywhere. Without the guidance of Eat This Shoot That!, we would have been completely lost. Cameron had such an organized itinerary for us throughout the evening. It was such an amazing, special feeling to have all these restaurants know we were on the tour, immediately get seated, and get food and drinks in front of us within 5 minutes of entering the restaurant. Every place we visited had such great respect for Cameron. Cameron took us to many sites throughout the town, that's enriched with so much history. We would not have learned as much as we did about the city of Solvang without the expertise and guidance of Cameron. I am forever grateful to this company, especially Cameron, and will be booking another tour in December to experience this all over again. Thank you so much!

Camilla was a great tour guide. She took my girlfriend and I to parts of Santa Barbara we had no idea existed. She has a robust knowledge of the history of the Funk Zone. We went to a balanced array of places and Camilla ensured we did not wait or lose time. She even proactively cleaned tables, when needed, to save time. It was my girlfriend's birthday and she had a great time. We definitely would recommend. They even accommodated our preference of no pork.

As a Yelp Elite, food tours is my middle name! lol I love exploring through food when traveling. I can't believe it's been a good 10 years since I've visited Santa Barbara. We were in town for a wedding and the lovely bride and groom set up all the guests on this wonderful tour! We were separated into 3 groups of 14-15 and off we go to eat! We had 8 stops in the Funk Zone area and 3 of those had alcohol. My hubby and I are not drinkers at all so I wish there were other options at those stop. One did provide a ginger mint mocktail but even then the ginger was way too strong for me. And now onto the food! we got a taste of: pizza, taco, poutine, duck taquitos, and a bread/dried fruits/nuts box that pairs with one of the wine place we stopped at. Overall my favorite was the poutine with gravy and schnitzel from Biergarten, and the duck taquitos from Flor de Maiz. Those two restaurants I would had definitely go back to have a full meal. TBH, the only thing that was missing on this tour was dessert! Overall I think we only walked maybe 2 to 2.5 miles around the city. But we've learned and tasted so much more! It was a a great way to meet and interact with other wedding guests that we wouldn't had normally. If you are a solo traveler or part of a large group, they will definitely take good care of you!

This was the perfect tour for our weekend visit to Santa Barbara. We enjoyed every place we visited and our tour guide was awesome!! Learned so much about the local area, businesses and history of Santa Barbara. Had a great group of people that we had fun meeting and hanging out with for a few hours. Would definitely recommend!

Nothing like the perfect street chicken taco from our stop at Mony's Mexican food

My boyfriend and I went through this food tour together as a part of our date day trip in Santa Barbara. This company is so wonderfully organized and hospitable with their tours. Tara was very kind and proactive in helping us get set up with a tour guide so we appreciated that. Andrew was our tour guide and he is hands down awesome (as you might see in some of the other reviews)! It's clear that he's a history buff and was able to provide so many new and interesting facts about Santa Barbara that made the experience so fun and enriching. We felt so comfortable conversating and walking through the city. So they have a really great staff. We were able to discover eating places that we wouldn't have known about and learned historical facts that we probably would have walked right past on our own. We loved every single dining place we visited. Everything was SO delicious. And they give just the right amount of proportions so that you can continue to walk it off and make space for the next dish. Also they were very precautious and compliant with social distancing and wearing our masks the entire time while being outdoors so I personally felt comfortable with the tour in light of COVID. You can tell they're being thoughtful about the circumstances. All that being said, we truly had a wonderful time. If you want to expand your experience in SB, definitely add this to your list! I've already recommended this to some friends who will be going on the tour as well! I can't wait to try their Solvang tour next! You can check out our full video experience on my youtube!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFrcYHe4L9o&t=573s

My fiancé and I had an amazing time during our tour! It's the first weekend we've really done anything since the pandemic and it was absolutely perfect. All the spots were so cool, delicious, and adjusted to the rules very well. Many of the places had to convert to outdoor patios and to be honest it was even better that way!! It was a beautiful day and enjoying these amazing foods and drinks outside made it even better. Our tour guide Andrew did an amazing job!! I would highly recommend doing this tour! Be kind, patient, and support all these amazing businesses! Also it was a great way to celebrate our engagement! Thanks again for a memorable experience!

I don't think I have ever been so disappointed with a business before I am even able to visit. I saw a Groupon for this food tour and was thrilled because I had looked into them in past and wasn't able to fit it into my trip at the time. Knowing third parties like Groupon take such a high fee for advertising, I wanted to reach out directly and ask if they would prefer I purchase directly through them rather than Groupon. Kinda a win win for both of us to save some money. But instead I was told they were unaware they had a Groupon offer at the time and asked if I could hold off on purchasing so that they can further look into it. I know things happen and was willing to wait since the sale price wasn't expected to expire for another few days, and I had time to purchase if that's how they wanted to handle it. They called me back 2 days later to tell me I could purchase through Groupon if I wanted and was definitely under the impression they would honor the original advertised price. Considering they were unaware, it was a good thing that I pointed it out to them before there was a real problem they had to deal with. I go on to purchase through Groupon and realized the price has now been updated and there is ZERO discount from there website price. I took screen shots of the groupon that stated the deal should still be good, and was clearly changed after they investigated and contacted groupon. I called again in hopes to purchase tickets at the price that was advertised and spoke with Tara, the owner of the business. I absolutely can not express the amount of disrespect and demeaning comments she made to me. While speaking to her, she laughed and then tried to tell me that I should have purchased earlier before the deal was gone.... Uhhh I waited per there request to look into things. As if to make matters even more uncalled for, she even apologized that is was "outside my budget" and recommended waiting until they have another sale..... I couldn't believe she was talking to me like this. The audacity and demeaning comment. Clearly a disappointment after hoping they would do the right thing and looking forward to this tour.... But things happen for a reason I guess. I found a much better food tour and booked with them instead. Oh, and I paid full price with no problem Tara, my budget wasn't the problem, it was about you honoring a listed price as advertised. Thank you for your more than your rude attitude and saved me from paying for a disappointment. Pics of some of the chat conversation is posted for the record. As a lot of the conversation was also through phone calls I clearly can't post those.

What a fun time we had with Cameron! The tastes were delicious and the portion were generous. Cameron was super informed about interesting fun facts about the Solvang. I would highly recommend this tour!

This is only my second experience with going on a food tour, so I don't have much to compare to, but food tours are super fun since you can try different foods you may not normally have tried. I thought the Funk Zone food tour was overall pretty great, and our tour guide Jocelyne was friendly and knowledgeable. My favorite item was the ahi tuna ceviche from Santi Mezcal! The fish was so fresh and tasty, and the sauces were excellent. Everything else (the pizza, chicken taco, ice cream, and chocolate) was fairly good, but nothing stellar. For this food tour, I could have done without the alcohol and would have liked more food stops instead! Portion sizes were quite small especially since the food was shared, so having either more food at each stop or having an additional stop would have made my belly a little happier! Another thing that could have improved the tour would be to have the ice cream stop individualized to each person. It would have been nice to choose your own flavors of ice cream (similar to how we got a choice for the chocolate truffles). Overall, I don't think this tour is worth the full price, so I'm glad we got a Groupon. It definitely was still a really fun experience, and having a knowledgeable tour guide definitely added value to the tour.

Figueroa mountain Mexican lager beer. Lucky penny pizza in the background

Thank you Christina! Had a great time exploring Santa Barbara with your guidance. Honestly, it felt like I was spending an afternoon with a friend. Sharing interesting facts about the lovely Santa Barbara city and enjoying delicious food was amazing. It was a bonus there were no other reservations made on the same day so we didn't have to share my new friend Christina with anyone else. Santo Mezcal- Octopus ceviche was uniquely delicious, so addicting. I couldn't get enough of it!! The Bier Garten- Pork poutine fries, fried cheese curds, mushroom gravy sauce, need I say more. Delicious. And the amber beer, typically I stray away from Amber beers BUT this one was so perfectly paired. I wanted more. Mony's Mexican food- first of all I never order, Chicken tacos, I'm Mexican, Al pastor all the way. This place makes GREAT chicken tacos. Christina again proved me wrong. I do want to return and try other tacos too. Cutler's Artisan Spirits- Shots, shots, shots. I was skeptical about trying vodka and gin without a chaser but the apple pie liquor and coffee liquor in the end was AMAZING!! Lucky Penny- always a favorite of mine so I was happy to get some slices in my belly. Fennel sausage, so tasty. Figueroa mountain- another favorite of mine, great beers. Tried the Mexican lager, wouldn't say I would typically order this one but I was glad to have tasted it. Helena Bakery- fresh bread with lavender jam...I wish I ordered another loaf of bread just to finish off that HEAVENLY JAM, I was too full from all the other tastings though. Santa Barbara Wine company- preselected white and red wines both delicious. Had to stay and order a flight and sample other great wines as well. Overall, best food tour I've ever been on.

Out guide was Nancy, and she was super sweet, thoughtful, and insightful, but my review isn't based on her. It's based on experience and value. What did $270 plus tip get us over 4 hours? 2 regular sized margaritas, one small one and a total of 5 Street sized tacos and some very unathentic churrros. I would have loved to have options of some kind, we were served whatever meat they wanted to serve. These tacos were not authentic and definitely were not filling, we all were starving when we left. We definitely did more walking and talking than eating and drinking. Would definitely say, for the price, you're better off bar/taco hopping yourself. I gave 3 stars since I went with good friends and Nancy was sweet.

We had a fantastic fun 4 hour tour eating our way through Santa Barbara today!…read more To start, it's not just a food tasting tour because one learns all about Santa Barbara history. Our guide, Manuel, was not only a great guide but a fun person to talk with, ask questions to and gave the 8 of us on this tour an insight into the city, it's good and much more. One of the great things about this company is they are open to understanding any food issues one has. In our group we had people who don't eat dairy, others who don't eat beef and another who can't have much sugar and when told ahead of time they ordered food that each of us could eat. We started with macarons (not macaroons), had Italian food, wine, Mexican food, empenadas, beer, ice cream and more as we toured State Street and other places in the area on what turned out to be a 4-hour tour. If we had a suggestion, it would be not to start with macarons, but to finish with them, as it seemed a bit weird starting with a cookie-type baked good, although they were delicious. One of the nice things about our tour is that there were just the 8 of us good friends, and Manuel fit right in. So if you're looking for bites of good food and learning about the city, the Santa Barbara Tasting Tour is a great way to do it, and kudos to Allison for setting this up for us!

They do discourage kids, but to contact and let them know upon booking if you will be bringing kids. We have 3 kids (7,5, and 2 years). They did great! It was just enough walking and resting/stopping and eating for them. We met our tour guide Manuel (I think that's what his name was) along with the rest of the group at Arlington theater. He then gave use a quick history of Santa Barbara and the town. He also passed out a summary of the 6 different places that we'll be stopping at. First stop was Renaud's Patisserie and Bistro where we got a quick lesson about macaroons. We tried an assortment of them. We had Lemon, Raspberry, Vanilla, Salted Caramel, pistachio, and strawberry. It was a good start to the day. Second stop was Ca'Dario where we tried brow butter and sage spinach ravioli and a bolognese. This stop was our favorite. It was so good. Even the kids ate the sage! Third stop was II Fustino for Olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting. Eh, wasn't our cup of tea. Fourth stop, Empty Bowl Gourmet Noodle Bar where we had potsticker (just one potsticker) and yellow chicken thai curry. The potsticker was soft and when you dip it in the spicy sauce it tastes even better. The chicken curry came with some type of noodles. It wasn't too spicy. The kids were able to eat it, but they preferred the potsticker instead. Fifth stop was at Chocolats du CaliBressan where we all had a Buddah shaped chocolate that filled with an ooey creamy caramel that oozed out when you bit into it. SO GOOD! We also got to choose one more chocolate of our choice from the counter. This was our other favorite spot! The last stop was at Cebada Winey where we got to taste some wine. The owner was actually there pouring and presenting the wines. Cebada wines are very light and not too sweet. We got to taste a 2013 Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and a Blueberry dessert wine. All were very light, but me and husband liked the Chardonnay best. We stayed and our kids got to taste the jams. They tried 3 jams. Blueberry, citrus and one more (I forgot). They liked the blueberry one, so we ended up getting a jar. This tour was very informative and a great way to try a bunch of spots Sanata Barbara has to offer. I would suggest having a lite snack before touring. Otherwise, you might still be hungry. We ate a little something before the tour started and we left feeling contented. We weren't full but weren't hungry. Water is offered at most of the stops and there are restrooms practically everywhere. The tour ran about 2.5 hrs. We did a bit of walking so I would suggest comfortable shoes just like their website states. I would suggest this tour especially if it's tour first time to SB. You get to see some cute shops and plazas along the way that you could stop at after the tour is over. You also learn about some of the buildings, statues and history of the town.

We made a whole array of dishes and they all were so simple to make yet so delicious. I would highly recommend taking one of her classes and I would happily do it again

Booked one through the Yelp tool which was automatic but never got a confirmation or anything. I told my girlfriend about my plan for my birthday and she surprised me with a wine tour herself. Called to tell Michael that I had to cancel and rather than be bitter, he was giving me recommendations on where to go, which winery has the best type of wine, etc. etc. Just based off of giving great recommendations (which I'll be using) despite me cancelling my tour with him shows a lot of class. A lot of other reviewers can speak to the experience but Michaels character deserved a 5-star review alone.

The longer: My boyfriend and I were looking to do a private wine tasting for the two of us. I contacted Michael a month or so in advance, was able to pre-pay by credit card (yes - points!!), and found Michael to be so warm and helpful. We got picked up exactly on time in a Mercedes truck and drove 45 minutes to Santa Ynez. We started at Grassini family vineyards - where Jared led us through an incredible tasting experience, and gave us a tour of the property, including the wine cellar and wine production areas. Michael had set up an adorable picnic for us near the lake, but we weren't quite hungry yet, so without question - he picked up and we moved onto the next spot. It was pretty hard to top Grassini, but Roblar Vineyard was beautiful, had such nice staff and an outdoor area where Michael set up a second picnic for us - complete with paninis, chips & glass plates, silverware and cloth napkins. For our last stop, Michael gave us options: we opted to go into Los Olivos - a cute little town with tons of tasting rooms and bars. We had another tasting included and he gave us some free time to drunkenly wonder around town (aka walk across the street). We did Dragonette's tasting room, which was good (but at this point we were both pretty drunk) and then popped across the street, so we could try local beer. Michael dropped us home - and even gave us dinner and local brewery and tasting room suggestions! Thank you, Michael, for a really memorable experience! We appreciate your kindness, knowledge, and professionalism! :-)
