I've had several friends and coworkers attend here and they had wonderful things to say about the educators who changed their lives! I recently attended the Annual SJ Fun Run and it was such a nice experience! Dr. Record and the SJUSD staff did an amazing job planning this event! The school has a pool, track, two-story buildings and large outdoor corridors. It's close to several fast food options and about a 4 min drive away from Stater Bros and some restaurants.

The curriculum is structured and advanced, using technology and computer work, preparing our children for what to expect in the job force. But most importantly, we feel loved and welcomed here, my children are not just being taught educationally, but emotionally, and socially as well. I love the 1950s meets modern style of the site. It's also bringing back the two-story structures which are refreshing and very spacious. I love the gym and MPR, both were my hubs. The staff is pretty nice, I've had the pleasure of meeting many of them and they truly extend themselves for the students. At the end of the day, the school is plagued by policy issues but there's solid education happening here. The parking entrance is a hot mess and the divider in front of the school is totally annoying. However, if you're a resident of the neighboring communities surrounding the school, this may be convenient for you and your child!

As a former employee here I see the racism and favoritism towards certain students and staff. Kids…read moreparents work there so they don't care and get priority over others. Alot of the kids come from broken homes and have no one to speak with about. I feel bad for them. One of the staff members played a hand in getting my sister fired. Cause she tried to show the kids discipline by making the kids write,that they will not be disrespectful towards others. The kids show no respect because they arent held accountable for their own actions, but she was in the wrong. Kids and adults need to be respectful to each other. The after school prisn't. That's in the multi purpose room isn't worth they constantly yell at the kids. It needs to be something done. Cause as a person who pays so much in property tax fees the schools aren't great. Atleast this one isnt.
