When I started a course of treatment with SRPT I was virtually unable to walk more than a few hindred feet before enduring crippling pain in my left upper leg. My condition had been going on for several months before meeting with Dave Townsend. My physician had latched on to the idea it was mild arthritis in my hip. That may have been a factor but it was not the principal issue. After a few sessions Dave helped me isolate the problem to fasciitis in my IT band, which was causing my quadricep muscles to cramp, hence the pain. He gave me stretches to perform and patiently manipulated my wretched thigh. His positivity and reassuring demeanor throughout the course of treatment helped me push through. Previously had a great experience at this office with a different physical therapist. But more recently had a bad experience, exercises made my issue worse, physical therapist kept telling me to push through it and didn't listen to me when I reported back that it didn't feel good, which just made the symptoms worse and worse. It ended up causing a back issue that I didn't have prior to going in to this physical therapy office. I found a different physical therapist at a different office who has been going through the process much more slowly, and my nerve issues have responded much better. I just completed a course of PT with Santa Rosa Physical Therapy and they are absolutely great. Each session was 1 on 1, the Physical Therapist was Veronica who is an expert. She explained clearly what needed to be done in addition to being positive and encouraging. She watched closely and provided corrections to form, etc. She wrote everything down, provided a video and print out of the exercises. They worked a miracle cure on my back, hopefully I will never need to return but if I did, I would come here. The office was very helpful with scheduling and insurance. read more

DaveTownsend is an extremely positive guy! And he brings this positivity into each and every session, so that he can impart support and encouragement to his clients. Dave has set me up with just the right exercise regime to both strengthen and enable me to maintain. As a result I am feeling encouraged and beginning to move beyond my chronic neck related arm pain. Dave really understands body mechanics and is an excellent communicator, who helps you understand the dynamic of your injury. Dialogue with Dave has been a huge benefit in helping me to cope and in predisposing a more positive attitude. Words and proper mindset can have great power! And when it comes to bodywork, Dave is highly skilled in joint mobilization and myofascial release. I think he brings a bit of extra sensory perception to the table too, because he always seems to zero in with just the right treatment! Being an avid cyclist, Dave also does bike fitting sessions. So in addition to dialing in your body, he can dial in your bike as well. I was amazed at how some subtle tweakings on my bike made a huge difference in my riding comfort! And beyond that, Dave has been a coaching resource, advising me as I regain biking strength and stamina. SRPT is run with efficiency. The whole vibe and aesthetic is professional, yet welcoming and supportive. Courtney always greets you with an upbeat attitude and keeps the front desk running smoothly! Julia. Part of my missing puzzle piece. After two years of agonizing sacrum pain, she has helped me immensely and continues to as I'm getting better. I did not know whether or not there was a light at the end of the tunnel, but her positive attitude and attention to my pain's attributes has made this journey of my life so much easier to deal with. She immediately assessed and corrected my sacral alignment and pointed out my tight adductor so that I could effectively get a massage to heal my injury. This is the first time in two horrifically painful years that I've experienced relief. Julia pays attention and makes sure to asses and try techniques that can be specifically applied to each injury to provide an efficient healing routine. Dave is the ultimate best PT. As a cyclist I have major back issues. Dave is a cyclist and understands the body mechanics of cycling. He not only works on my issues but gives excellent exercises to maintain my back health even fits me to my bikes. He video tapes the exercises which helps tremendously. I have been going during the Covaid pandemic and totally feel safe as they practice impeccable Covaid guidelines. read more

There is NO OTHER PHYSICAL THERAPY OFFICE IN SANTA ROSA that has anyway near this much skill or integrity. They really work with you one-on-one to help you progress past your problem. Most PT offices show you an exercise or two and then send you home with some weird diagram and expect you to be able to do the work at home. David Townsend and every other physical therapist at this office is totally committed to your health 100%. There is no one better. Been going to SRPT and working with Dave Townsend for 6 years and have nothing but great things to say! They've helped me rehab after breaking my femur (with surgery), tendinitis, leg muscle imbalances, knee problems, bike fitting, and now mid back problems. Sports therapy is their specialty and they've enabled me to stay active and performing at a high level! SRPT utilizes technology to help make the physical therapy experience better. They use an electronic appointment reminder system so you don't forget about appointments, and they also use an electronic system that stores the prescribed exercises/stretches/activities to help remind you what to do for rehab outside of appointments. Both are super convenient and handy. Sarah, the front end office manager, is very friendly/positive, and is possibly the best medical office manager I've ever seen. She's quick/happy to answer questions, is fantastic at explaining the ins & outs of insurance and copay options, and is just a joy to work with. Lastly, SRPT's rates rates are very reasonable for this high level of service; even if you're a cash customer or high deductible insurance plan customer! read more

Small outpatient site, but unparalleled physical therapy services and top notch exercise equipment. Setting up an appointments are really easy and the physical therapists here are amazing. These therapists are the type of guys that truly care about their patients and will go above and beyond. I seriously mean it, they take their time with you and really listen to your problems. Dave and Jay are two of the nicest guys I have ever met. I think that their prices are pretty good for the quality physical therapy that they provide. I would trust the physical therapists here with any musculoskeletal problems. Also, don't hesitate to talk to David Townsend about bikes and cycling. David townsend is the physical therapists name that ive been working with. He is really nice and down to earth. Its a very comforting/welcoming environment and the ladies at the front desk are very nice and organzized. I recommend going to either of the two physical therapists on site. They treat you like a family friend and not so much like a patient. The excercises we do are convinient and work. David was the only person that coukd actually tell me what my back problem was just by staring at me. My doctors were wrong and david helped me a lot just by knowing the exact problem. I was recommended to SRPT by Tone Pilates studio after I had Stem Cell injections for osteoarthritis of the shoulder. and needed PT to facilitate healing & maximize range of motion etc. Therapist Wm. "Billy" Binns has had specialized training in joint mobilization - a rare and highly specialized skill - so he became my therapist and has helped me significantly. In addition to this treatment, he "cured" my badly sprained foot in 2 treatments with hands-on therapy and compression boot. Unlike some PTs who focus solely on exercise, Billy combines hands-on skills with exercises. He is also aware of the limitations of the Sr.'s body with osteoarthritis . read more

I have been to SRPT for a shoulder issue, bike fit and recently an ankle issue that came up when I took up running again after many years away from it. In all instances I have been extremely happy with the treatment I received. My most recent treatment was with Lori. She very quickly was able to see the cause of my running problems and put me on a simple regimen of exercises to strengthen and balance muscle groups from my foot to core to help me be a runner for years to come. Although I was at SRPT for a running issue, my cycling comfort has benefited too as a result of the changes I have made with Lori's guidance. The focus on working with my body instead of jumping to orthotics etc. made me very happy. I heartily recommend SRPT. read more

Have done PT for long-term back issues over the years, but SRPT was definitely the best experience I've ever had. I was initially assessed by Dave Townsend, who took the time to listen and work with me and to explain what could and couldn't be done. C.J. Mooneyham then worked with me for three months. He was wonderful about listening to what was going on, trying new things, and educating me about what he was doing. He's very knowledgeable about his field -- and he made me laugh, even sometimes when he was digging into a sore muscle. A few weeks in, I really started to notice the difference. I graduated today and I'm walking and moving better, less pain. I wouldn't hesitate to go back if need be, and I would recommend C.J. to anyone who needs physical therapy.
