When my family and I were faced with the death of my Grandmother, we turned to Santana Funeral Home for her services. When we arrived, to make arrangements, we were immediately greeted by Ms. Lidu Tellez, who tended to us with our options and a path forward. She was extremely knowledgable, and made the difficult decisions, make sense. We couldn't have been more blessed with her assistance, and with her keeping us in the loop of what steps needed to be taken next. During the services, we were also greeted by Mr. Santana, who also greeted our friends and family, along with Lidu. Both, Mr. Santana, and Ms. Tellez made our heartbreak, bearable, with no additional stress on us. We highly recommend Santana Funeral Home, along with working with Ms. Tellez, and Mr. Santana. What a waste of our time and money. If you want to avoid more difficult situations during a time that is already hard by itself, please avoid this funeral home. They will give you the runaround and change their offerings from one day to the next. Sad and incompetent. They took days to pick up my mother's body from the hospital, gave us a lot of trouble over the formal clothes we had for her, did not want to take her jewelry to put on her, did not want to take her to her burial site, did not give us any dates for the viewing even after having the body, sold us insurance that covers none of their services, and ended up charging us $950 for picking her up from the hospital. No services offered for the viewing either- no music, no pictures, no help. How they continue to operate is beyond me. read more

Remember you get what you pay for. They are the cheapest around for a reason. I was thoroughly disappointed unfortunately, I wanted them to work out but it simply did not. I would not recommend unless you really just can not find the extra $500 to go to the next best. I just want to update a little about my review so that people can understand why I gave only one star. Let's start with today is January 26th, 2015, I decided to finally call them because I hadn't heard anything on the ashes for my mother (if those are even her ashes). So I call. I get no apology for no one ever contacting me even though my mothers ashes have been there for over 2 weeks. Just an excuse, "..well we tried but you obviously didn't answer" :I Wow. Okay. Let's go back to the day of the viewing. They were an hour late in getting my mother ready. People that had to go to work that day that came early never got to see my mother one last time and pay their respects. My mothers birth date was wrong on the sheet posted on the wall going up the stairs. That's not a big deal, whatever. Except I had to tell them AGAIN the poem I wanted, what picture I wanted on the back of the cards and had to resend my mothers picture for them to use ON THE DAY OF THE VIEWING! The manager or director, not sure who he was really, one or the other, does it really matter. Was watching football in the lobby, as if he was hanging out in a sports bar and it's okay to cheer at a viewing. Do I really even need to go more into that?! So fucking inappropriate excuse my language, but I am livid right now, having to relive this because they are STILL screwing up. How hard is it to call and if no one answers you leave a voice mail?! Please, PLEASEEE do not ever use this place. It is not worth saving $500. I don't have many regrets in life. But damn, they take the cake for that. NO ONE SHOULD EVER HAVE TO DEAL WITH SUCH INCOMPETENCE WHEN THEY ARE TRYING TO GRIEVE AND MOURN! PERIOD. read more

We went to a funeral here of a dear friend's brother. Several outrageous things happened. First (and least), there are no elevators to the second-floor​ chapel. Elderly relatives and anyone who was handicapped had to be helped (or carried) slowly up a long staircase. Second - the reception area was across the street in what felt like a tiny ramshackle shack. No more than 20 people would make it feel crowded. Third - the service started very late. The "rent-a-priest" (hired by Santana) got there at least 30 minutes after the service was supposed to start. He was very elderly and went on and on and on and on and on... with what should have been a 15-minute​ message. He called people out of the audience and embarrassed​ them with questions - and then he would declare their answers WRONG! He kept warning people to consider whether they would go to heaven or wind up in hell. (I am an evangelical Bible teacher - and that is a worthy question to consider, but the way he did it was very offensive!) THEN, the funeral home director came up and whispered to the family members that the service was going too long and they would have to PAY MORE. They said, NO! The funeral director told the priest and he told everyone to bow their heads and ponder their sins. During that long pause, he packed up his things AND LEFT! He left without completing the mass and serving communion AND without the blessing of the body. He did leave holy water for that to be done. The mother of the deceased had to go up and explain to everyone what happened and she and the family blessed the body with the holy water. I have never been to such a horrible excuse for a funeral service in my life. Everyone there was embarrassed​, offended, and felt sorry for the family. PLEASE DON'T USE THIS FUNERAL HOME. Do not take your loved one to Santana Funeral Home. They were very unprofessional, rude and not organized at all. The owner of this Funeral Home cussed at my sister and was threatening her because we were unhappy with the way my sister and the family were being treated after my sister's husband passed. There are many other places then you can take your loved one to but do not take them here because you will regret it the owner used to be in a bail bonds capacity that's where he belongs because he's very rude. Spare yourself the grief and the heartache of having to deal with these people. I don't know why they're even still operating they should be shut down and we are in the process of filing a formal complaint with the state. read more

I personally have never had to search for a funeral home. Santana was one of the 4 funeral homes on my list. I'm happy that I decided to go with them. The staff was great and the price was extremely reasonable. Now the down side is that the cafeteria is across the street and I felt weird sending our guest out there especially at night. Also, wish they were up to date on electronics and technology. They also have no elevators. Glad no one in my family needed to use it. Besides that the place was clean. read more

No stars would be a more appropriate rating. I attended 2 funerals here this year, and both left much to be desired. One was on the second floor which does not accommodate the elderly or disabled. There is no elevator to access the floor. This required a team of 4 individuals to get my 90+ year old grandma upstairs to see her daughter. Very irresponsible. I'm not sure why they haven't been fined. The second funeral was mired by the rude and disrespectful staff at the desk (father to the funeral director). Several family members asked him for help adjusting the music which was playing full of static noise. He was short and dismissive. He was unprofessional and completely lacked the compassion, empathy, and patience to work with grieving families. If you are looking for a funeral home, I encourage you to look elsewhere, even if you have limited funds. Call around. Many funeral homes will try their best to work with you. Do yourself a favor and don't add to your grief by using this place. read more

***DON'T USE THIS FUNERAL HOME*** This funeral home doesn't deserve the one star I had to put on here! They are lacking compassion, customer service, efficiency and every other aspect that this type of business should have. They kept my grieving mother-in-law here in the states past her expected date to return home only to give her the run around (day after day), and to send her home without her sons ashes. She ordered and paid for several death certificates, but only received one certificate. She requested for them to release the other certificates to me, but they somehow lost that portion of details. When I called they gave me the run around, and made her authorize for me to receive the other death certificates (which was already done). It would have been easier to go wait at the court house for the death certificate than to deal with these incompetent people who call themselves a business. I would not recommend this funeral home to any international people who need to take the remains out of the country, or to anyone who just needs a funeral home. I'm questioning if we even received to correct ashes for our family member because they are so disorganized! ***DON'T USE THIS FUNERAL HOME*** read more
