The fair is free to walk around, shop, buy food and drink, listen to the bands. The bands are loud and there are several sound stages. There are booths selling the festival merch, like shirts and hats, and I assume that helps to continue to put on the festival\. The ad said 300 vendors, not sure if there were really 300, but there were a bunch for sure. Definitely a fun thing to check out if you are in the area and wanting a street festival to try.

Lots of vendors for things like solar panels to pest control to food. Most of the food is a little deeper in the festival - but you've got your solid basics: gyros, bbq, and ..... well......fried. Pup friendly but be sure to travel on the off-hours. Nice selection of pet friendly vendors too (leashes, bowls, tons of pet stuff)! Lots of fun for the whole family - it's nice to get out after being locked down for so many years!

The Pacific Island Festival Association (PIFA) event has been going on for 31 years in Mission Bay…read morein SD in September. They celebrate all of the Pacific Island Cultures. Persons from Guam and Samoa were well represented here! The main stage features entertainment every thirty minutes. I came here to see my six year old niece do some hula; however, they had cultural exhibitions for the entire weekend! Also cool are the cultural merch and food that you can get here. I was able to get a really solid 3 meat sampling of Chamorro (Guamanian) food for $25, which came with a red rice, 3 meats, and creamy greens. Lines could be pretty long for food and it can get pretty hot at the park; however, we had a good time as we were here in the morning before the sun brought down its wrath on the crowds. We parked for free at the Sun Runner Parking lot off Sea World Parkway, and they had shuttles that took you to the event from the lot for $2 per person. If you are coming to this event, then I think this is a great way to get to the event. The event is running through the end of this weekend. I primarily come to support family that participates; however, we did find some good food and Pacific Islander vendors, so it was a good time overall!

Can't believe we have been missing out all these years (I believe this is their 15th year) We had VIP entry for 7pm and at 1st I thought I could have saved some money and gone general entry but ended up the extra cost was well worth the money. The general entry line wasn't super long at 1st but for sure it started getting packed. We were 1st in line and eager to check everything out and get some good scares. The trial is a bit uneven but is well lit and actually not too bad to walk. The scareators were amazing, the props as well and the staff superb! The scares are enhanced knowing you are literally walking through the buildings and area of the old amusement park. We were in the first group to enter and what I liked not is we were spaced out. Even though there were roughly 8 of us we all got a chance to get scared. There was no overcrowding or trying to fit too many people through at once. It was perfect. Parking is free and easy in and out (dirt lot but we'll maintained). Depending on the time and date you go might help factor in which ticket option you want. There are three options, general line, fast pass, and VIP. Each allow you to stand in or bypass the line. Later in the season I would for sure go with fast pass at least. I can picture this haunt getting busier. Overall a great local haunt, well priced, easy to get to and awesome people. Can't wait to go back!

Yes, that is one question many people that try to think of the many answers that may go with such an event with the sounds of the great rock and the smell of Barbecue that has been cooking the smells of the brisket and the barbecue hot dogs. What makes great barbecue some of the best food is the introduction of the many fine tasting beers with the many vendors that takes to make the great is the beer and food festivals are all about it's for the adults that are over 21. The day of the festival of the beers and food was on a Saturday, so I had to look towards to taking the Lyft driving service to the 8th street transit center that put me close to the Downtown area of San Diego when you don't have a car you do have to take the city transit and the many buses to the many events that are here in San Diego and the North County. With the Transit Stem I was able to get from the National City area to the mission Valley area to catch the number 6 bus that leaves and goes to the North Park area of San Diego. Upon the arrival at the event there was a lot of people that were walking down El cajon Blvd with the end of the event that was at 22nd street and the many sections of the festival that was at the front of the Lafeyette you couldn't miss the event with the many people walking down the street. Arriving at the event after 100pm that was before the general admission people were being allowed inside the event going to the main event that the staff of the event saw my situation of my knee brace and was escorted the front of the line to the main entrance. I had to pull the ticket off my phone they were checking at front and IDs when you get to the front entrance that no one that was under 21 was being allowed inside. I was greeted at the front gate my ticket was checked as I got through the gate the staff was handing out plastic glasses, they were to be used for the many vendors that you visit, and the food was paid out of pocket. The many food vendors the many people they had there was something that was one big party and the food they had served was some of the best barbecue and the Bavarian Pretzels they were a meal for two people. I took a few minutes to a walk about the event to0 get a good look at the many vendors for the breweries some of them had one to three tents a size of the event it was close to the size of the Saint Patrick's Day Event that held in the Gaslamp. Many of the Breweries the festival was showcasing they had the new beer lines and the new one with the many brewmasters take the many years to come up with the recipes and the best ingredients. The whole event was to raise money for the medical and the children's medical research and the charities that have strong ties that are connected. The many people that was there at the festival and the many breweries working on a time crunch that was limiting the time of service at the last call of the hour before the 320pm. As a Yelp Elite Reviewer, the many things that I had experienced with the crowd flow and meeting the staff that was the best and to have help to the front to the front not having to stand in line great work to the coordinators and the people at the front. The location for the event was at the front of the Lafeyette one of the most historical and one of the best places to have a large event. From the whole day and the food, I had tasted it was one of the biggest and with the music at one end there should have been music at both ends of the street overall the festival is one of the best.

Overall, I really enjoyed the experience. Pros: lots of alcohol, super friendly vendors, San Pellegrino everywhere to keep you hydrated, nicely decorated with Day of Dead photo ops, fresh hot tacos (all delicious) with fancy toppings, restaurants from TJ, Mexicali, SD, variety of tacos from lengua to Thai to ahi to salmon, free parking, nice variety of alcohol from sangria to beer to wine to hard cider. Cons: long lines, waste of plates, no table tops/belly ups or seats unless part of VIP section, no dessert booths, lots of empty booths and/or vendors ran out of food before 2:00. But getting to go for free makes me even embarrassed to bring up the cons. Truly it was a great event. Liberty Station was a great venue for this because it was spacious for the amount of people in attendance. Tix were sold out. Parking is easy and free. Only caveat: I didn't check out restrooms or see them but I do wish there were handwashing stations around. Some vendors were eating with the same gloved hands they were serving from.
