It wasn't what we were expecting. There was only a lot of junk displayed and it was a waste of our time. Parking was kind of crowded and the entry fee of $1 was reasonable. Our most recent visit was pretty disappointing. We were there around 10:30 on Saturday and there were barely any vendors there. Not only that, a bunch were packing up already. The swap meet is supposed to be until 1pm. It also costs $2/person to go in. I wish the person at the entrance would have told us that there weren't many vendors and they were packing up. We essentially threw $4 away. We've come here before and snagged a couple of great deals but it was really unpleasant this time. Probably won't return for awhile and stick to Kobeys. Restrooms: There are some available. Cleanliness is hit or miss. No soap. No hand sanitizer. read more

Dusty was the first point of contact at the front gate. His customer service was amazing...very personable and respectful, along with patience in guiding us where we needed to go. Tim was our next lovely encounter, he was respectful and caring, he even let us borrow his flashlight because ours died. The reason for the 3 stars is because I feel like there could've been more security. Multiple people were stealing from us or attempting too... it got out of hand and we had to pack up and leave early. read more

You have to come here with the attitude ready to dig for something awesome , and cheap . They have tons and tons of vendors with loads of stuff ! If you're not in the mood you may be turned off, but if you have a good attitude you are sure to find something that will put a huge smile on your face . The reviews here are hilarious! Yes, this swap-meet is nowhere as big as Kobe's or other ones around SD, but it is, in my opinion, the best one! Why do i say that? When I go to a swap-mee, i expect to find things that are reasonably priced, since we all know how the vendors get their hands on their lots. It is a real turn off when i go to a table full of "junk", and I see, let's say one of those old McDonalds glass cups with Charlie Brown stamped on it: "HOW MUCH FOR THIS GLASS?"--- "THERY DOLARS, ITS A VINTASH!!!"... GTFO. At this swap-meet, however, I always have good luck! Last time I picked up TWO autographed baseballs by David Wells, fifty cents each! The lady in charge was selling every item at the same set price. So, whatever the people in charge are doing, it is working. Keep it small, simple, not overwhelming, and easy enough to ge through in a reasonably amount of time. Oh! And those who complain about the hours, the early bird gets the worm! read more

I love swap meets. I can spend the whole day just going through the stuff for sale. This location is mainly used garage sale stuff. Still cool to find something for dirt cheap. It's located at the Santee drive thru. Just drive up and pay a dollar and drive in. Best to get their early. Most of the sellers start leaving around early noon. read more

This swap meet is smaller than any of the other ones in San Diego. Not really worth the trek out to Santee. I've only been once, but am not inclined to ever go again. As far as the drive in goes, we pretty much go once a year in the summer. We take lawn chairs and blankets and sweatshirts. It gets cold in the evening in east county. Get there early to get a good spot. A few times huge trucks have blocked our view. We try to work it out so that we are seeing a kid friendly double feature. Several times cars need to be jump started because people run their battery down using their car stereo. Just bring either a boom box type radio or a blue tooth to avoid that happening. read more

This is my favorite swap meet. They have more garage sale like vendors instead of the cheesy vendors selling blankets and bracelets lol. It's not huge which I like because you can get through it in an 1-2 hours depending on your pace of course. I have found great stuff for awesome prices. Definitely the best prices in town! read more

I am a bargain hunter! This place called my name and I answered. After spending $1.50 and having a nice conversation with the car full of friends that the drive in brought back memories of younger days, we were in! Parking was simple enough. Once out of the car, there was a pile of stuff to be found! It is like one huge community yard sale at this swap meet. You can find tons of stuff that others would probably be selling at a yard sale. You just have to take the time to look around and believe me there is an eyeful to see! (when they say you can find everything and the kitchen sink they are not yanking your chain - I literally did see a kitchen sink! hahahahahaha) My friends and I each each came home with a bag full of goodies. We each approached the swap meet with a reusable shopping bag and all left with the bag having some sort of treasure in the bags. Items that we found on this adventure: video games, gaming accessories, plants, a ceramic piggy bank, brand new in the box shower head. For my treasures: a herb garden in a pot for $5, a flower plant for $1, a brand new in the box Waterpik Shower Head. I can't believe I haven't reviewed the Santee Swap Meet yet. We basically lived here last year. I was looking for a very specific kind of vase for our wedding reception and could usually count on finding at least one or two every weekend at the Santee Swap Meet. And they were usually $1 or less each. You need to arrive early to this swap to get the good stuff. When my husband was looking for a particular type of tool, he'd show up at 6:30AM to be first to see the goods and he usually comes out with some quality tools whenever we visit. I still say this is the best swap meet in the county for "garage sale" goods at a fair price, but it's not as flashy as Kobey's or as big as Spring Valley so it kind of gets forgotten. Parking is a little easier than Kobey's, but again that depends on what time you arrive. read more

Came here at 8:30 and half of the vendors were gone! Got turned around a couple of times trying to find the place, but found up finding the massive swap meet sign. Everyone is super nice, there's an assortment of random, cheap junk and nice, new items. Ended up buying a large wicker trunk, two ornaments and two plants for $11! You definitely need to pick through the junk, but there are great finds hiding in there. You can probably find more stuff early in the morning, but things start to get cheaper later in the day. read more

Since government officials reccommend that we don't venture into TJ, if you are looking for something that is identical, I suggest you go to the Swap Meet, you will feel just like you are in TJ. Someone was actually selling a used toothbrush! I only went because my one friend dragged me there, but I will never go away! Two stars just because I feel bad for them. read more

Not the best swap meet I've been to. It's relatively small in comparison to other swap meets in the San Diego area. I hate using the word junk but I felt like there was a lot of junk. There were a lot of items for cheap but found nothing really worth money. Parking was confusing and it all seemed a bit unorganized there was so clear entrance/exit. I think you would be better off heading down to random garage sales for the items found here or head to Kobys for more of a selection! read more

This used to be a great alternative (especially for those the in east county) to Kobey's swap meet - but all the county swap meets seem to have lost their former appeal. If you're in Santee on a Saturday or Sunday morning, this still might be a place to look for a deal, but the chances of finding something you'd want are probably less than they used to be in the past. If you have stuff to sell, this is probably a cheaper place to do it than others, but I'd suggest trying a garage sale first. read more

This is an awesome place to sell stuff you start early and finish super early too. I love this cuz it gives me a chance to do more in the afternoon without being completely drained. The employees there are very helpful and so is the manager. He is a nice dude and they are willing to help you out with any questions you have. I've had very good buying and selling experiences here. It's a good place to buy video games new and retro. The only negative experience I ever had was as a buyer when I bought my entrance ticket the cashier women was a little rude but overall I've had good experiences. read more

The swap meet is Saturday and Sunday. Mostly a nice homey kind of feel to it. Like a small town country sort of place. Not open long enough and they need to advertise it so more buyers and sellers come. Closes up at noon which is a shame. You can find some decent stuff here. We have. The guys who run it and security are nice. Needs a better food cart though and a decent place to sit. Worth a trip. read more

The first reviewer said you need $50 to get in - so wrong! It's a $1 on Saturday, $1.50 on Sunday. My mother-in-law and I frequently venture out, because we are able to find useful garden and decorating supplies for super cheap that we can spruce up. Don't come here if you are expecting to be amazed by quality; if you need to fill your cupboards for cheap or if you are looking for odds/end, tools, interesting knick knacks, then it's worth a go. read more

They pack up early so don't bother coming much later than 9 am. It's like the wild west. No rules,. Careful there are often trucks that plow thru trying to get out and they do not care about you or those small children. They need a change in management or rules. Dealers leave piles of junk. Management begs them not to do this thru announcements. Kobeys would refuse to allow them back if they left early or left trash. Yes, you can enforce this. If the word gets out you are even trying to enforce rules some of these guys will change. These dealers do not have anywhere else to go because most places enforce their rules. read more
