A woman with gorgeous curly hair was leaving as the stylist, (Cheryl Arterburn, I soon learned) sent her off with a smile and a wave. As someone with unruly curls, I stopped and commented on the hairstyle and Cheryl beckoned me in. She assessed my hair and we set an appointment for later that day. All I can say is "Wow!" It took a little longer than expected with the coloring and the layers aren't perfect so was told that next time they could be trimmed. I never received a trim but was charged for a haircut . I did call to ask if I needed to come back in if maybe there was a miscommunication. It's been over a week and no return call. She trimmed the bottom nicely, but the "face framing" layers went from mid ear downward to my chin - pretty much opposite of what you'd expect from face framing layers. I have a tendency to blame myself or my hair for cuts that don't work, but definitely not the case with this bad cut. All I can do now is keep it in a ponytail or headband and wait for growth.

I was cut off with a very snotty and short, "We don't do that here!", and was promptly hung up on. Mean while I call a competing salon in town. A) They know exactly what I mean when I say color lift. B) They are more then friendly, and allow me to explain my hair situation C) They give me a price point to start the process. I am not sure how well off the owner of Mane Attraction is, but coming back to Kerrville, and being treated in such a way by someone running a business is a bit shocking. In running a business it is hard to attract new customer in this economy, and this doesn't go very far in making me want to spend money in your establishment. So hopefully, other people's experiences are better, but I will be taking my hard earned dollar some place it is appreciated.
