I had braces from a different orthodontist as a teenager to help straighten a few teeth, however, as an adult I developed an underbite causing TMJD. Dr Santucci has fixed my underbite, the clicking of my jaw caused by the TMJD, and I'm no longer getting headaches. On top of this my smile does look noticeably better, the office is always on time for the appointments, they're very accommodating and flexible when it comes to making appointments. We've had a great experience with Santucci Orthodontics! My daughter first visited the office about four years ago, for a general orthodontic check-up of work she had done before moving to AZ. She had regular checkups until it was time to get braces about a year ago. The staff and orthodontist here are friendly and supportive, and genuinely care about their patients; I never feel like they are upselling or recommending treatment that is unnecessary. My child had an issue with strep and the doctor was very proactive to take steps to eliminate the possibility of reinfection. My son also loves "earning" geckos, which is an office reward program. Honestly, orthodontic treatment is crazy expensive no matter where you go, which makes it a bit painful (not to mention the poor kid that has to have those braces tightened), but we like Dr Santucci and his staff as much as we possibly could enjoy someone who takes so much of your money. read more

He wanted another $4,000 to fix the issue. My family has spent well over $15,000 with him. He became very hostile when questioned and was aggressive. Dr. Santucci and his wife are wonderful. The office atmosphere is friendly, welcoming and forgiving. My two children have been wearing braces for around two years and issues with scheduling ultimately come up especially when the kids are in school and parents are working. However, they do their best to accommodate and make it work so that the kids can get in when they need to. The staff is pleasant and professional. Most importantly, Dr. Santucci has a sincere interest in the end result and cares about each client. Even the ones that consistently resist wearing their rubber-bands! He's moderately priced compared to other ortho's in the area as I had three price quotes and he came out right in the middle. I highly recommend him, you won't be disappointed. read more

My wife and my son twice now have had orthodontic work performed by Dr. Santucci, so our family has spent nearly $15,000 with him. Recently my son lost his retainer while away at college, and since they did not retain his mold (surprisingly), 3 weeks passed before he could return, get impressions made, and receive his new retainer. During this time, some movement in his lower teeth occurred. Dr. Santucci first suggested Invisalign at $4000, and after we were hesitant to proceed, he offered us the option to spend another $2000 for bands and wires followed again by a removable retainer. Although my son is clearly responsible for the lost retainer, we still hoped for some reasonable understanding, since the teeth were not solidly in place and were rapidly moving even before the retainer was lost. When I came in to discuss this with Dr. Santucci, to first see what alternative approaches we could undertake that would eliminate the continuing movement such as a permanent wired-in retainer, he became defensive, angry, and threatening. He also stated this was all because my son was not wearing the retainer. Despite him saying that, whenever his mother or I called in during the course of his treatment to check on his progress, we were always given assurances that everything was "perfect". We never received any complaints about non-compliance, poor hygiene, or anything negative, and we know that the retainer was being worn as directed. Dr. Santucci's anger caught me by surprise, was very unprofessional, and it was obvious he is insecure, does not like to be questioned, and is convinced there is no way but his way to approach this. His emphasis is not about the patient or the ultimate result, but about power, his ego, and the maximum amount of money he can collect. We never expected anything for free, but it seems to me that some understanding and an explanation, a willingness to work together for a successful result, and basic courtesy would not be too much to ask. Since I am a physician and health care provider, I find such behavior toward any patient unacceptable, and it forces me to write this review so others carefully examine this orthodontist before engaging his services. Dr. Santucci and his staff are WONDERFUL! Very friendly, knowledgeable and caring. In the past 5 years, two of our children have completed their braces (one with traditional metal and the other with Invisalign Teen) both with spectacular results!! Our younger son will be starting braces in a few months and is looking forward to it - now that's a great orthodontist :) Additionally, Dr. Santucci consulted with us when a pediatric dentist was recommending extractions for one of our younger children. We were concerned that doing so might cause future orthodontic problems. He took the time to explain what was going on in our child's mouth and what we could expect down the road so that we could make an informed decision (we chose to not have the teeth extracted and everything turned out fine for that child). My 8 yr old daughter needed an Ortho eval and I was nervous about her having braces too soon. That seems to be the trend right now with 7-9 yr olds getting braces. Although I'm sure it is sometimes necessary, due to alignment and bite issues, I also don't want to be a part of an unnecessary "fad". Dr. Santucci was VERY thorough. I was extremely impressed with him explaining everything he was observing, why, what it means, etc. I really appreciated his "conservative" opinion and suggesting that we wait 2-3 years for her mouth to grow more, when braces will be more beneficial long term. He also suggested that she has another eval in 1 year to see how her mouth is looking. He does not charge for the evaluation and does not make you feel rushed or that you are wasting his time.
