I had a crown put on by a dentist in south Scottsdale which ended up getting infected. I have been putting it off for a few months until today when I felt it affecting my sinuses. I called at 11am and spoke to Bridgette. She was incredibly friendly and was able to get in me a few hours later to perform a cleaning and extraction. The cleaning was pleasant (I usually dread them). Deborah was very friendly and did a thorough job. Dr. Steinberg seemed very experienced and was able to help keep me calm while I was feeling terribly anxious; he also has a great sense of humor. Overall, I was very satisfied with the staff, office aesthetic, experience, and I highly recommend going yourself. read more

Dr. Steinberg has been my dentist for 15 years. I've had nothing but positive experiences with him and his work. The most complex service he has provided was replace a broken crown with a compete implant in 2005. I visited this dentist four years ago and I thought his staff and assistants were bitchy. I went for a cleaning, nothing more. I paid whatever my co-pay was that my insurance didn't cover and thought that was that. Six months later I get a bill for $75. Thinking there must be some issue, I call and dispute the charge. I was told there were some services my insurance didn't cover...for a cleaning. I told them that I only had a cleaning and based on the info I had from my provider, I paid what I owed. I never heard back on the matter. Now, four years later I am living in LA and get a bill $296 for a previous balance from two months ago. I called to dispute the bill and now they are threatening to send the matter to collections. What a scam. I wonder if I'm the only person this is happening to. read more

Moved to Scottsdale about 2 years ago. Dr. Steinberg was recommended by a co-worker after she found I was paying so much more for the same services she had recently. I am glad I listened. This office knew the right fees and ways to work with my insurance. I saved a significant amount of money and got exceptional work. My experience has only been positive for the crowns that I have had as well as my regular teeth cleaning. I never have to wait for my apt. The front staff, my teeth cleaner, and and both Dr. Steinberg's make me feel appreciated. I always recommend this office for all those in need of a great dentist. read more

I first went to Dr. Steinberg's practice for a routine cleaning in 2014 where he stated that my fillings (I have three) need to be redone. They were only 5 years old at this point, and I had no problems with them whatsoever. He redoes them and 6 months later at a checkup he says that I have another cavity under one of the ones he fixed. Okay, so let's fix it. He redoes the redo and sends me on my way. Then last year, he tells me I need yet another one because it's back. Having no other choice, I let him try again. It's now been a year since that and I've switched offices, whereby my new doctor finds the exact same cavity that Dr. Steinberg was supposed to have fixed. I went from having perfectly fine fillings and no problems to having the same cavity worked on three times, and yes, I WAS CHARGED FOR EVERY SINGLE ONE. I'm about to have it worked on again and may even need a root canal because this went on for so long. read more

Very cool and personable staff. They smile and you can see they have teeth. Lisa the hygienist is awesome, friendly, knowledgeable and makes it a very comfortable. Dr Steinberg treats me like a regular guy and was very conscious about making me comfortable and limit the pain. Even apologizes every time I winced. State of the art equipment. My family moved to Arizona within the past year. We chose Steinberg dentistry for our dentist and made 1st time appointments. My son is 21. He arrived for his appointment on January 3, 2017. (This is his first time with his own insurance through his own employer, all new stuff to him) When I spoke with a receptionist the day prior she stated we could use his social security number, his employer and the name of his Insurance provider to look up his insurance when he arrived the following day as with many dental plans they do not provide an actual Insurance card. When he arrived the receptionist was very rude and condescending to my son because he didn't have a card, did not know his deductible, ( I am 47 years old and have never once been asked by my dentist what my deducible for dental was) When my son apologized and stated he was sorry and that this was the first time he had his own insurance, which had just become valid January 2017, she tossed his paperwork at him and said she did not have time for this. My son called me to ask what he should do. I told him he did not deserve her disrespect and to politely tell her because of her rudeness you will finding another dentist and she can also cancel the appointments that the rest of our family had scheduled later in the month of January. If this is the way they treat new patients, I cant imagine how they are with long term ones. Sad! read more

The staff was amazing! I had a broken tooth and other neglected issues with my teeth in general. I was full of fear to get it looked at and didn't know what to expect. They made me feel very comfortable immediately. They were able to fix my tooth quickly and I have a plan set up to address the other issues. I have hated and dreaded visiting the dentist since many horrible experiences as a child until Dr. Michael Steinberg was recommended by a close friend. My experience was pain free and Dr. Steinberg really pays attention to detail. My wife and I drive 45 minutes each way to see him because his service is that good. Highly recommend to anyone in greater Phoenix to give the Jawman a chance, you will be impressed! We have also had teeth whitening done at his office and the results are unbelievable. I have been coming to see Dr. Mike since I was in 5th grade. (Mishap on the playground knocked my tooth out.) I will be 37 this year. I could not recommended a better dentist! No matter the procedure he and his staff are always checking to make sure you are comfortable. Great office staff as well! They really make sure you get the best treatment. Never again. I initially went in to get a cleaning and to find a local dentist I could trust (I got the name from a co-worker who had a couple of appts here already). My first appt consisted of x-rays and evaluation only. The cleaning did not happen on the first visit. The receptionist and I discussed additional work I needed to have done. I told her I wasn't sure what my insurance would take care of and what my out of pocket would be . She had already worked up the numbers on all kinds of work including removing existing fillings to be refilled. Unnecesary when you have no issues but more money in their pocket. After reviewing the figures, I told her I just wanted the cleaning for now and would schedule any additional work when I was ready. She scheduled me for the cleaning and asked when would I want to schedule the dental work. I said "I just told you I will call you when I'm ready." She said under her breath with her eyes motioning behind her towards the other woman, "She makes me do this." I scheduled my cleaning only. The cleaning was done and after agreeing to some necessary repair work for a set quote, I had the additional work done. Following my last visit, I was presented with an ADDITIONAL surprise billing of over $1000. Pam said "Oh, your insurance didn't take care of that." So, at first my insurance was going to take care of it and then it turns out they weren't. Pam's excuse, this sometimes happens. She ended up cutting my bill by a few hundred dollars and I walked out of there for the last time. My co-worker ran into the same surprise bills and won't return either. On the up side, Lisa the hygienist was experienced and very pleasant. Bridget up front was just doing what she was told to do, badger the patrons to spend more money. Dr. Steinberg and his wife Pam have $ signs in their lackluster personalities. read more

Dr. Steinberg and his entire staff are amazing! I have been terrified of the dentist since I was a small child. Needless to say my adult life has not been much better. I would go years at a time in-between appointments only leaving my mouth in worse shape. On multiple occasions I made appointments with other dentists. I would arrive at their office, walk in, freak myself out with anxiety, cancel the appointment and leave. Finally in 2008I knew I needed to suck it up and go get my teeth cleaned. I spent two months asking every one of my friends if they had an exceptionally great dentist. I needed a dentist and their staff to be above and beyond nice so I would actually keep my appointment. I am one of those people that gets cavities regardless of how clean I keep my teeth so, I knew that because I had not been to the dentist in 2 Years my first visit was going to involve a lot of work. Finally my best friend called me and said she found the "best dentist ever" (Dr. Steinberg). After continuously having her reasure me that he was really good I made the appointment... I arrived at their office shaking but, as soon as I met Bridgette, Melinda and Dr. Steiberg I was releived. They were so understanding about my fear. Sure enough I had to have a lot of work done. Dr. Steinberg was amazing, he has such a wonderful personality and has a great way of putting you at ease while he works. I have never felt any pain while he works and that is where my anxiety stems from. Bridgette (Dr. Steinberg's assistant) is also the most wonderful person. It has been over 2 years since I started seeing Dr.S and when I have to get anything more than a cleaning and need shots she will hold my hand so I don't freak out. I will never be able to find a better dental office for me! In 2009 my husband was relocated to Philadelphia, PA for work. I still travel back to AZ two times a year to have Dr. Steinberg clean my teeth. I knew I was starting to get a cavity and was coming to visit family for the holidays so I called the office and they made everything work so I could get it, get my cavity fixed and also get my teeth cleaned in the short period that I was visiting. My husband thinks it is crazy that I can not find a new dentist local to Philly, and has to buy plane tickets for me to visit the dentist but, both Dr. Steinberg and his staff are so amazing and comforting that they have basically eliminated my dentist fears. Because i found this office I have not missed a 6month cleaning since 2008 I can't express how grateful I am to finally have a dentist that I am not afraid to visit. This review might sound crazy to you if you have no fears of the dentist but, if you do I hope my review encourages you to go visit Dr. Steinberg and finally get on a healthy dental track like I have. I went to him for a teeth cleaning when I arrived I was given an exam and x rays then I was told that I would have to come another day for the cleaning. 2 office visits for a cleaning? When I arrived the second time for the cleaning Dr. Steinberg said I had a small cavity that needed filling. The tooth was very slightly irregular all of my life. No other Dentist said it needed filling. Dr. Steinberg put a tiny little bit of white resin on the tooth. It took 5 minut5es. Then my teeth were cleaned. When I left I was hit with a bill of over $100.00! Since then I have received a letter from my insurance company saying that they had disallowed several hundred dollars of overcharges $290.00 for the tooth filling because he was a contracted doctor and was trying to bill them for fees in excess of what he was entitled to. Now I have that to deal with??? The front desk folks reek of money and desperation. I wont be back. read more
