This is a very nice place but things are sure changing. C-Store very well stocked and everyone friendly and pleasant. The server in the restaurant was very nice and took care of me. But the food was not as good as it used to be. I ordered corned beef hash, hash browns, sunny side up eggs. It all came out stacked which is ok but it fit on a 5" square plate. Unfortunately I was still a bit hungry when I left. I'm ok with a little more expensive food if I'm full when finished. Not so much today. Restaurant was very clean & nice inside. But I've noticed the servers sit in the back while not waiting on customers. If you have things to do , do them out front so if a customer needs something, you are there to accommodate. I know more & more truck drivers want fast food to go. That's too bad as some of us still want to sit down to eat and talk with other folks. But I'll be back. read more

If anyone from the Sapp family reads these you have a hit with that new Coffee Kettle restaurant. This place is much better than those Apple Barrell's in your other truckstop locations. The food is better, the menu is better, and the service is far superior. You really should close down those AB's and replace them with Coffee Kettle. And shutdown the Burger King in the Illinois location and replace it with CK as well. read more

Okay so I gotta say.. I've been eating out of my truck for awhile ( since this dang virus scare bs) So maybe my tastes are slightly skewed, but I gotta say the the Apple Barrel restaurant here hit it out of the park.. I had the burnt ends dinner and they were sweet and smoky and tender and salty all at the same time. The waitress was very friendly ( even to the dipwad) who was trying to get a free meal out of her. Buddy, I listened to what you ordered and that's what you got.. even if you argued that it wasn't. Anyho,.. I give it a 5 star review! read more

Visiting from Hawaii and stopped in to the cafe. We had the chicken fried steak with mashed potato's. It was delicious. I look forward to stopping in for more comfort food on our next visit. read more
