My engine overheated 2 times and they told me I needed a 10000 full rebuilt of my engine because it was "warped". Turns out all I need is a water pump and cooling tank replacement. About 750 dollars. As can be imagined I'm very unhappy with Meyer's auto service. Officially found the place I'll take my car to for repairs. Dwayne and Tony were referred to me by a family member who takes all 3 of his cars there and they were prompt, trustworthy and professional. Made me really feel like they valued my business! My engine light was on so I dropped it off overnight in hopes they weren't too backed up (used key drop slot with note attached) They made sure to call me first thing in the morning and keep me posted. Don't know how many times I've waited for a dealership to even contact me, sitting on the back burner while they treat me like one of the hundred nameless faces they service in a day. I will always take my car to Meyer's from here on out. I brought my car after getting diagnostics done somewhere else and being told it would need lots of transmission work, new engine mounts, new intake filters and serpentine belt etc. Was told it would be about 3k. Wanting a 2nd opinion i brought it in to Meyers and turned out some solenoids needed replaced. Whole thing cost a little under $400 and my car is running better than it's run in years.. Recently moved to Omaha, I was looking for a good mechanic to help nurse our two clunkers along. One of our cars developed a noise that sounded like a bad bearing. I took the car to an Omaha mechanic who diagnosed not only the bad bearing but three or four suspiciously new problems, for which he quoted me suspiciously high prices. At the recommendation of a trusted friend, which is what I should have looked for in the first place, I took the car to Meyer's for a second opinion. The fine folks at Meyer's also diagnosed the bad bearing but were a lot more diffident about the other issues the first mechanic had noted. Ultimately, the gentleman who handled my car's repair suggested that the first mechanic was guilty of some exaggeration. He also quoted me a price for the bearing repair that was about half what the first shop had quoted. I should note that I dropped the car off at 7:30 on a busy morning; had the diagnosis by 10:15; and the job was done by about 3:00 PM. I am fairly new to Omaha and when you move, one of the many things you must find in a new city is a good, reliable and honest mechanic. They are hard to find, but worth the hunt! I came to Myers Auto with a list of items I wanted checked and problems I'd been having with my high mileage Subaru. They took a little extra time diagnosing the problem, they thought outside the box to discover what was causing the problems I was having. They called me daily to let me know where things were at. This place is a gem! My Partner and I had to have both of our cars serviced recently. Unfortunately, the engine was shot on one of them and they recommended that we junk it as the car wasn't worth the cost of repairs. We asked them for advice on which car we should look at to buy -- they told us what types of cars they service the most and gave their personal recommendations on cars. In the meantime they fixed our other car twice in the span of a month (totally unrelated issues! It was a bad month!) Not only did they do a stellar job on our car, they were nice, personable and most importantly they were reasonable in price. I did not feel that they talked down to us at all or tried to scam us as some mechanics can do. They only gave us their honest opinions and I felt 100% comfortable with them working on our car. All of the guys working here were extremely friendly. I initially looked into this place because of the positive review left by the other reviewer. It was a great choice. I have used Meyers for years. My wife took her car there in an emergency and they did not know she was my wife. I know Dwayne and the guys personally. They diagnosed the issue and fixed it immeadiately. No BS, No upsale because she was a woman. I told the guys after that I appreciated what they did. It was nothing special, this is the way they operate everyday with everyone. HONEST as the summer day is long. Their labor rate is reasonable and although they do make a slight profit on parts (no where near anyone else), the pricing is some of the best in Omaha. AND, they stand behind their work. The most honest and upfront shop you will ever find! After my first visit I had a follow-up issue with my car and they acknowledged it was their fault and they fixed it free of charge! Recently I took my car to Baxter for an oil change and they gave me $1,700.00 worth of repairs/maintenance they said I needed. I took it to Meyer's for a second opinion and they told me as much as they would like the work in good conscience they can't suggest I do ANY of the work. One of the things Baxter told me to do was service the differential's in my truck due to dirty fluid. Meyer's told me they weren't sure how Baxter knew it was dirty since they never pulled the plug to look at my fluid. After reviewing my car they charged me nothing since no work was done! If you need work on you vehicle, for your own sake please give them a consideration. read more

I took my pickup in to have a 6"-12" of brake line repaired. I showed them exactly where the repair was needed. They did the repair very well at an unreasonable price. I had just put on new pads and one new rotor the week before and they told me I needed all new pads and rotors on all four wheels. read more

Very happy with this repair shop, which happens to be only a block from my business. I was referred by a friend and couldn't be happier. My Navigator was running really bad and it kept getting worse. I was sure that I was gonna get some seriously bad news. Anyway, Meyers got me in right away. I dropped it off at about 9am this morning, they called me back shortly after 10am and had it fixed by noon. runs great again, and to top it off, the bill was $40.00 less than they quoted me over the phone. You guys. I can't even begin to explain how much Meyer's Auto came through for me. But I'm gonna try. My car died in an intersection and I had it towed to Meyer's on the recommendation of a friend. Dwayne gave me a ride to work in his own vehicle and they spent the day trying to figure out what was wrong. The seemingly simple problem turned out to be a nightmare-- it was the master control module and Nissan no longer manufactured the part. Unless we could fix mine or find a remanufactured MCM, my (only!) 9 year old little car was basically scrap. I won't get in to the small details-- the wrong parts sent, the computer repair place not coming through, the the times we thought we had it fixed but it wasn't. After three weeks, they thought they had it figured out. I paid the reasonable bill that they clearly explained, and they sent me home with my newly fixed car... but it died on the way home. I called them right away and they went into action mode--they sent a tow truck and continued to try to solve the problem-- only now, they were backing up their guarantee. No further charge to me. They had said they fixed my car, and by God, they were gonna fix my car come hell or high water. It truly was personal for them. I was not just a number or an invoice; I was a real person with kids, a job, a life, and a limited budget and they needed to get my car fixed. The had to work for *five more weeks* on my stubborn little Versa (and to be clear: they were NOT dragging their feet! They kept me updated the whole time. Tony is great at check-ins, and Dwayne texts, so that makes contact extra easy!) to get the right MCM in there and get it programmed the right way. Dwayne let me drive his Crown Vic Interceptor for the last 4 weeks of repairs so I could quit bumming rides. My daughters loved riding in a "real cop car!" (I hope Dwayne forgives me for the dusting of glitter I couldn't get out of the backseat carpet, but I used the car to take the girls to a Halloween party.) So after 8 weeks, my beloved little car is back, and running better than ever. But almost more importantly, I've found a mechanic I can trust will treat me fairly, will communicate clearly, and will work until the job is done right. My Versa (or, the Versa from Hell as Dwayne took to calling it) will probably be replaced in a few years, but Meyer's Auto will be my repair shop for a lot longer than that-- there's no replacing them. read more

My 10-year, trusted Omaha mechanic got married and moved out of state, so I was in need of a new shop. I asked a good friend and neighbor, who said Meyer's Auto services his fleet of business vehicles and that they are highly skilled, knowledgable and trustworthy to the max. I drive a 23-year-old well-maintained car with high mileage, and needed an experienced shop. I took her in running very rough and smelling of gas - I suspected a faulty fuel injector. They spent a lot of time diagnosing the problem, and through some creative troubleshooting, discovered issues with a couple of sensors and a harness instead. My car was ready that same day, and is now running smooth as can be and with great gas mileage. I have a good working knowledge of how cars work, and they explained everything and answered all my questions. AND the total price for the repair was very, very reasonable and fair. Their employees are professional and friendly - I immediately recognized this as a quality shop that takes pride in doing ther work well and treating their customers right. After listening to the commercials of wonderful personal experiences, I decided to check them out. I took my vehicle in for suspension issues. And I really did have a good vibe in the beginning. The guy who I assume was the owner told me he would check out and if I could leave the vehicle. I said sure. About 4 hours later I was asked to come back. I did and to "hang tight". And I sat. And waited. And waited. And waited for at least an hour. At that point I was getting ready to say forget it when the same man came in and apologized profusely for the wait and if I could follow him. My irritation started to ebb slightly. My car was suspended and he did explain and show the problem which I could say I appreciated. He stated my options of whether I wanted to replace both air suspension bags, the one faulty bag, or convert to spring suspension. He quoted pricing on the first two but didn't for some reason have the estimate on the last option but did say it would be the least expensive. The first two were out at those price points but I was prepared to have my vehicle fixed on the last option. Again, I was asked if I wanted to wait--that there were a few clients apparently before me (but the first client walk in at open) and that he had to call around based on the age of my vehicle? and if I wanted to wait while he checked on that info. I decided to leave again though. Two hours later I came back, my car back on the ground, and he still did not have the information. A count on the number of hours--7 close to closing and irritation was back full blown. At least I knew what was wrong my car right? Did he write me and my junker off? I don't know. A one star service, but I figure so many have such good things to say....I wish my experience had been better. I did get my car fixed and converted to spring suspension the next day at a brake masters of all places at a third of the price quoted on the air bags. I still wonder what his quote on spring suspension might have been considering. This establishment can work to improve in the customer service department. read more
