I love the Sapphire Salon! I have been coming here for years and have had many different services done! They have a great sauna you are allowed to sit in before and after your services! I am always sure to arrive about about 15-20min early so I have some quality time in the sauna before my service. I have gotten many massages from here from different massage therapists and each time left me feeling like a bowl of jelly (in a wonderful way!) I have even had couples massage one more than one occasion! They are fun to do with a friend or close relative if you are open enough with your body to briefly be in the nude with them in the same room! Each therapist asks what pressure you prefer and you can correct them at any time if you need more or less depending on sensitive spots. They were all very professional courteous to me. I have also had a mud wrap service which was a very relaxing experience! You were forced to wear this tiny thong type thing made out of gauze, so If you aren't very comfortable with people seeing EVERYTHING you have going on, then this may not be the service for you. One you got changed they painted your body in a mud paste then wrapped you up in saran wrap and you just laid there and relaxed while the mud dried. After you rested long enough with the mud on your body, you took a shower and washed all the mud from your body. They then gave you a brief massage and your service is over! I have also gotten a facial from this spa. Facials weren't my favorite service, but that had nothing to do with this spa in particular. I just don't find a person digging at my face with a metal tool to be very relaxing! I did enjoy the scalp massage as well as putting my hands and feet in the warmers throughout my service! The staff is very knowledgeable and gives you great tips on skin care throughout the service! The gel manicure is really what keeps me coming back time and time again! My nails have never looked so good before! My natural nails are very thin and weak and crack before they even begin to grow. I used to wear acrylic nails but they just did more damage to my natural nail. Then I discovered the gel nail! The manicure only takes about 1/2 hr and each nail technician I have had has always done a spectacular job! They say the manicure should last 2 weeks but I have found that mine last well over the 2 weeks! For the $30 it costs to get this service, along with the amount of time they last, and the quality of service you are getting, I would say there isn't a better deal out there! I have only had one service done at the Sapphire that I wasn't satisfied with. I got my eyelashes tinted. I was under the impression this would eliminate the need to wear mascara and give my eyes a naturally darker dramatic look. I have light brown/dirty blond hair and my eyelashes are even lighter so without mascara I look like I have none! After tint was over, the woman performing my service mentioned they didn't look much darker and said she wanted to do it again. After the second time, they still didn't look very different. The explanation I eventually got was my eyelashes were very thin and fine and it was difficult for the color to catch. Aside from that one disappointing experience I have had nothing but great services! The place is very serene and relaxing, as well as decorated beautifully! They also have an amazing little boutique inside the spa that sells all sorts of accessories and clothing! I often find myself leaving with something from the boutique as well! The providers themselves are delightful, talented, and professional. Unfortunately, my experience with the front desk has been the complete opposite. The staff have been rude, unprofessional, and consistently poor at communicating. For the past two weeks, I've been given the runaround every time I've tried to schedule an appointment. I've never been a problematic client. In fact, a few months ago I even brought my home health client in for a Mother's Day appointment after caring for her over 100 hours a week. I'm currently fighting serious charges that I maintain are false, and it feels like Sapphire judged me based on allegations rather than my history as a respectful, reliable client. Rather than being upfront with me, I was given a different excuse each time I called. Only after two weeks was I told that the manager would contact me, but that call never came. If the salon truly wants to avoid drama, then direct, honest communication would go much further than weeks of avoidance. If they had simply been honest from the beginning instead of making excuses, the situation could have been resolved in a single conversation. read more

Poor experience. The waiting area is super run down. They have like 20 color options for nail polish (as opposed to normal salons that have hundreds) so I had to pick a color I wasn't comfortable with. I had a bit of gel polish left on my toes and they had no electric files to remove it- the employee used a literal nail file by hand. It was so unlike any other salon I've been to and took far longer than usual for a polish. And the color I picked (1 of 20 options) the brush was so matted and dried out that they had to go find an unused polish brush from somewhere to actually paint my nails. On the bright side the employees doing nails were very very kind. Took like 15 minutes for 3 of us to check out. What kind of system to they have!? This place felt so disorganized and like it's trying to be 10 different salons in one. It's not working. read more

I came for an air brush tan before my upcoming trip. The woman who does them is so nice and professional. Reason for the 3 stars? The room they use for spray tans is is literally the size of a closet and there is NO VENTILATION. And you will sweat off some of the tan before you even leave the room. Awful gel manicure recently! I had jelly tips and they were so pretty for holidays and recommended to get gel manicure after tips fell off and removed. Never again. They chipped three days after manicure, had a "redo" then the other hand started to chip. I soaked off myself and would never go there again. If I want false nails, I'll get acrylics The process is the same, removal in warm acetone was awful, damaged natural nails-would NOT recommend! My nails are in such bad shape and it's like after having acrylic removed. read more

I went to get my own hair trimmed as well as a hair piece cut which required the piece being placed on my head as I have thin hair and hair loss in front. My hair was not secured properly by the stylist who wound up cutting a hunk out of the middle. She was a very nice, sweet woman and I actually feel bad writing this but it's unacceptable to then spend two seconds cutting crappy bangs to fix it and say "well, that's the risk you take" after having to come back to the salon. Honestly I was already heartbroken about losing so much of my hair but I might shave it as the already weird bangs are just going to get stringy as I sweat in the summer. Writing this on behalf of my roommate, who is a regular at this salon and has had nothing but wonderful experiences up until today. My roommate called to make an appointment for a curly cut and high/lowlights. She showed a reference photo of what she has had done in the past and asked for this again. The color combination used on her hair in the past was never noted or written down. This stylist rushed through the entire appointment and it shows. For the curly cut, she took strands and chopped the ends leaving my roommate's hair frizzy and unevenly layered. For the highlights, no weaving was done because these are bleached, bright yellow large chunks of hair. We don't believe her hair was parted based on how uneven these strands are and the fact that the highlight starts an inch below her root. Her highlights were not toned. My roommate cannot be blamed for what happened because she cannot see the back of her head, as stupid as that sounds, and didn't know what the back looked like until myself and our third roommate combed through her hair and took pictures to show her. *I would like to note, my roommate has always had phenomenal experiences with Nicole and this salon. read more

Have now had my fourth unfavorable experience at this salon/spa. I have to bring my own nail polish with me because for whatever reason they don't have an appropriate color for a traditional French manicure/pedicure, only bright and bubblegum pinks. Additionally, showed up on time for my appointment and was told the pedicurist was running late. Apparently 40 minutes late. I had inquired about the discount that is offered between Sapphire and my place of employment to which I was told they don't do that anymore, even though my place of employment just released their list of collaborating businesses for the new fiscal year and sapphire was included. However because of the delay they said they would honor a 10% discount in contrast to what should have been a 20% discount because of my job. While the pedicurist was nice, that's where it ended. I found it very unprofessional that I had to wait an additional 40 minutes and wasn't even allowed to use the discount I should have been entitled to. Then the cherry on top is the pedicure didn't even look good! This will be the absolute last time I ever visit this nightmare of a salon. read more

I would rate this place a 0 if I could. A few years ago I got my hair done at the Moosic location. I wanted an ombré. The girl doing my hair made me look like a literal leopard. It was like a bowl was placed on my head and the rest was died bleach blond. It was horrific. I remember leaving and the receptionist telling me my hair looked great, just to get home and have my friend tell me how horrific my hair looked. Fast forward a few years later, I decided to give sapphire salon another chance; this time, I decided to go to the Pittston location to get my make up done for a Christmas party. I paid for a half hour session. The session turned out to be 20 minutes; my make up was done by a man. I'm sorry, but men do not do their make up on a daily basis, so this should have been my red flag, but I didn't want to be rude so I gave him a chance. I showed him a picture of a simple Smokey eye look and he said "say no more." I paid 30 dollars and I walked out of there looking like an an absolute clown. My red lipstick was not even on my lips. It was absolutely horrific. When checking out, the receptionist once again told me I looked "beautiful." I have absolutely no idea what she was looking at! After paying 30 dollars, I HAD TO REDO MY MAKEUP WHEN I GOT HOME! I will NEVER EVER go back to sapphire salon and I caution anyone who goes there to get their hair and make up done. I literally got in the car and had to wipe my lipstick off because it was that horrific and not even on my lips! I have lived in philly the past few years and you can trust anyone in philly to make you look great, I cannot say the same for sapphire salon. I don't even know if their beauticians/cosmeticians go to beauty school because they are AWFUL. Please take this into consideration when scheduling an appointment!! Instead I got thick uneven and unnatural chunky highlights, and the color correction the following day equaled five more times of bleach and toner, and an anxiety attack. Went for manicures with a family member. We were hoping for a relaxing afternoon, but were stressed from the start. The appointment started 20 minutes late bc the woman was backed up. Normally would not have been bad, but no one ever came over to tell us or anything. When I asked for a French Manicure, was disappointed in the woman's work. The tips were too thin and crooked. She was rushing because she said she had a lot of appointments. The place is beautiful and looked nice, just noisy with a lot of kids coming in and out with their moms. I have been coming here recently getting manicures by Patty and she is amazing! Pays very close attention to detail and shapes and styles my nails beautifully and I am very picky. She has great technique and I love the finished look. The salon has tons of colors to choose from, however, there are not a lot of a dark options available in Dip. First I must say that this place was VERY clean. I was greeted upon entry by name. I received a gift card and since my friends were visiting from out of state I brought them along too. We got regular Sapphire mani/pedis. The pedi's went well and were relaxing. The color selection was great also. However every thing went down hill the moment actual polish was applied. The appointment was at 2:30 for three of us, we each got our own tech. The techs were friendly, fun and the service they provided was good. We got our toes done first and were immediately ushered into the manicure area. Our manicures were done and we were immediately ushered into the drying area while we were there they brought water/coffee/tea. I was done after my friends and so I stayed longer than my friends drying. While there one of the techs seemed adamant about getting me out of the area insisting I was dry, reluctantly I tried to vie for more time. Eventually I gave in and moved back into the manicure area to meet my friends I was skeptical I was finished and notice one of them was having a dent in her mani repaired. Again the same tech came to me felt up my nails and insisted I was dry. I literally lifted up my foot and asked her to verify my toes were done because I couldn't believe they were dry. She went as far as putting on my socks for me. I also noticed dents in my manicure which they promptly fixed when it occurred to me that lighting was being shut off. I had NO idea on Saturday the place closes at 5 and it was already 5:15. I still noticed dents in the mani but decided they were too minor to complain about and kept it moving. To my HORROR when I got home my socks were STUCK to my still wet toes. I knew it! In that moment I felt like they trashed all the hard work they did in the beginning because it became clear to me the appointment ran longer than they anticipated it would and they rushed us in the end. My mani is messed up and my pedi is a mess. Luckily I bought the color they used on me while I was there and since they've done all the base work I'll be redoing the polish myself tomorrow. But the experience has left a bad bad taste in my mouth. I can not in good conscience recommend this place especially at the EXTREMELY high prices. Was not worth the trouble booking, was not worth the money for the outcome we received. I'm shocked that a place that charged me 92$ for a mani/pedi/polish allowed me to walk out the door literally putting my socks on my feet for me and allowed me to walk out the door with wet nails. If it were possible to rate this place strictly on its massage staff, it would be a 4 star. However, I experienced the most ATROCIOUS display of professionalism I could have ever fathomed. The owner, Angie, I think it was, treated me as though I was the dirt under her fingernails. I purchased a gift certificate through Groupon for myself and my boyfriend as a Christmas present. I had called the spa prior to my appointment to ask if there was a space to have some champagne and snacks in between or any time before or after the services. I was told yes. They took my supplies and stored them for me, but when our massage was over, they informed us they were closed and we were expected to leave. Long story short, there was some confusion with our transaction that I had payed for before Christmas and they did not have it on file at all. The owner of this spa made me out to be a thief who was trying to pull one over on her and not pay, when I already had ages ago. I said ok, you can keep my debit card ON FILE, do not charge a thing, and as soon I as I get home, I will fax it, no problem. Needless to say, I checked my account and a charge had been placed. Her blatant DISRESPECT for a Paying client blew my mind. I have never encountered such a HORRIBLE attitude on someone's whose sole purpose is to provide services to her well paying customers in order to keep her business alive. I have very high standards and I immediately knew that I was in great hands with Cassandra "Cassie." She's very skilled and is recently back to the PA area from LA. She was confident and qualified, and rolled out the red carpet treatment for me. I'm very pleased and felt that the price was very reasonable. I've already scheduled a follow up appointment. The only reason I am giving this experience one star is for the curteous staff who tried to salvage what was left of my Bachelorette party... two of my party arrived,literally 5 minutes before the rest of us and we're shuffled off to start their treatments before the rest of us arrived. After the fact ..we were informed by the staff that one of our party was confused with another customer with an earlier appointment resulting in the rush... This resulted in a huge argument between my bridesmaids. .. one of which came upstairs to find me histerically crying. . I asked for the owner, Angie, who said that it was not their fault and that the services were all booked for different times... at this time my maid of honor showed the owner the confirmed time of 12 noon on her phone for all of the girls in our party. I became upset at this time and said we would just leave,nothing relaxing about this... I was told matter of factly that if we leave we will be charged for all of our services. .. we stayed as a result... I did not receive all of my services. Nothing was done to compensate us, and my girls were charged for the services I did not receive... not only did this ruin my Bachelorette party, a once in a lifetime event, but it also impacted my wedding as my bridesmaid backed out of our wedding because she was upset that we stayed...thanks for all of the aggravation.. as if having a wedding isn't stressful enough. read more

I rarely post reviews, but I felt this was necessary. When I checked in for my appointment, the receptionist was very short and made me feel very uncomfortable when I showed up early. Her tone was almost accusatory, even though I assured her I did not expect to be taken early. The stylist was sweet and presented herself well. I told her I had been getting highlights every few months in Cincinnati and just relocated here for work and family. I told her I had a tendency to get brassy with blonde but what I had was working quite well. She did not take more than two seconds looking at my hair, and said she would be right back. She came back with two bowls of highlight color, which I found out too late were the same tint even though I requested two-tone highlights in my appointment. She started the highlights some distance away from my roots, so it already looks several weeks grown out. Also, the highlights are yellow-blonde and not at all natural. Decided to get a couples massage with my boyfriend and was happy that they even had a spot open after valentines day. I do have to say that the building itself is nice and very pretty. I liked the sauna before the massage which is definitely relaxing. My massage was good and I couldn't complain to much about my therapist. However, there were many things that bothered me about this place. One, they gave my boyfriend a small/medium robe when he clearly is a lot bigger then a small. He came in the sauna with a robe he couldn't even close. Thank god I grabbed an over sized robe and we switched. Next, we went in the room and it was cold, not only was it cold but it was so bright in the room. Maybe its personal preference but I like being in a dark room and feeling relaxed. I asked the therapist to focus on my right leg and she didn't really do anything different from my left leg to my right leg, awkward. The thing that definitely bothered me the most though was the fact that our room was right by main street and all I could hear through my whole massage was the traffic going, huge trucks going by, kids screaming, etc. I understand that the business is located on main street in pittston but try and put a massage room further back. Between the temperature, the extreme light, and the constant traffic noise I wasn't very relaxed. I wouldn't go back for a massage, for the extra 15 dollars I would rather wait for an appointment to open up at Woodhouse in Kingston. read more

I would give this place zero stars if it was a possibility. I called for a last-minute color correction in order to go to a wedding today. Called yesterday for the appointment and explained in detail exactly what I needed done, they were apparently able to accommodate and scheduled me for 10 this morning. The stylist upon looking at my hair immediately told me that there was nothing that could be done to it. I know for a fact this is untrue because I worked in a salon for almost 2 years, also I literally bleached my hair last week and watched the color he claimed would not lift go straight to blonde in no time. I have naturally frizzy hair because it is wavy, it is not damaged. When I called to report the incident, the manager was incredibly rude and stated that she guesses I'd rather have my hair fall out in the sink. My hair is nowhere close to that damaged which she would have realized had she come to consult her incompetent stylist herself. Definitely not a way to bring back in a customer, and I will make sure to tell all of my current friends and family never to go there again. This review is just for the gel manicure I got before my wedding. The woman who did it was very sweet, but my nails did not look very good afterwards and three of them had chipped between the Wednesday when I got them done and three days later when I was getting married! I gave some stars for the fact that they were more than happy to have someone fix them the morning of the wedding and that they were apologetic, and although the woman who did the revision was very sweet as well, the fixed nails still looked lumpy. By the following Wednesday, I was sick of all of my nails chipping and took off the polish. I like the salon overall (see my other review), but I will not be returning for a manicure. read more

I called for an appointment for a massage today, and much to my surprise, they were able to schedule me for the same day. I had a 60-minute massage with Livia, and it was simply amazing. She took the time to work specifically on the parts of my back that I requested, and it was hands down the best massage I've ever had. I felt like a million bucks after leaving there.
