I needed a pedicure to go away and my usual salon had no avail for 10 days. called half a dozen places, no avail for 5-14 days. Expanded my area search and the Spa Kalahari came up with appointment for next day, but it was $85. I usually pay $35-50, depending on service. Well I was desperate and figured since it was a spa, it would be a very upscale pedi. The space was nice, pedi chair comfortable with massage features, etc. The tech was a lovely young woman, really sweet and friendly. But the pedicure was what I can get for $35. There was no scrub, lotion, or fragrance option offered or pre-soaking with any product. The "hot towels" before polish were lukewarn and left on for about 20 seconds. The foot/leg massage was almost non-existent, a little scrub and lotion on foot only, not ankles or calves. My $50 pedi provides a 10-15 minute foot/leg massage which is heavenly. The tech said she would be leaving be some products she had used at checkout, I thought oh, that's nice, a couple of samples, but no, they were full size products they wanted to sell to me. At the end of the day my toes looked perfectly fine, but it was NOT an $85 spa pedicure service. read more

During our Poconos vacation, I decided to book spa services for my hard working husband. The concierge at my hotel suggested this spa. I made certain to book prior to our arrival and the booking process was very easy. The person I spoke to was very helpful and made suggestions. I noticed that the prices on services increases on the weekend, which is why I made sure to make the reservation for a weekday. Ha! He had a massage, pedicure and manicure. He enjoyed each service. He did mention the nail technician could've done a better job on his manicure. Other than that, he was relaxed and felt energized! Clearly, this was a great suggestion by my concierge. The prices are pretty reasonable (during the weekday) and the technicians were are all friendly and customer service orientated. My husband had late day services, so the staff was gracious to offer him a day pass to come back over the weekend to experience the sauna, jacuzzi, etc. Speaking of which, you can purchase a $75 all-day pass to spend in the spa section, even if you aren't being serviced by the spa. Negative rating. Spa is dirty and most workers are rude for Pocono Pennsylvania location.

Please know I don't write negative reviews. I like to yelp positive reviews and boost ups businesses. When something is wrong take it up w management to fix. However we tried that and I can't have someone have this experience me and my husband had here. So proceed with caution when booking here. For our anniversary we drove 2 hours to this spa and booked massages and facials. I got email confirmations the day before. They ask you to show up 30 mins before the appointments so we left our hotel and planned on getting there 30 mins early. HOWEVER when we got into the car from our hotel we received an email that said they are cancelling our spa day. No warning. Less than an hour before the appointments. She claimed to have called my phone but my number wasn't working. So since we were already in the car we drove over and spoke to them in person. They aren't remorseful. They aren't sorry that we booked this romantic weekend and drove 2 hours and they cancelled it without warning. They didn't offer any discount on future appointments. They only offered us to sit in their hot tubs or whatever as a way to make it up to us. We had a nice hot tub at the hotel we were staying at. We wanted our massages and facials!! I was in tears. It ruined everything. And cause they didn't give any warning they cancelled it we couldn't get any last min bookings at other spas in the poconos. HOWEVER....we drove to mount airy and they booked us appointments for the following day. And the woman at the front desk was wonderful. Let us use their pool for the day cause she felt so sorry for us. And gave us a discount and they didn't even do anything wrong! My facial w Lexi at mount airy was fantastic. So please. Friendly booking and flexible rescheduling. Accommodated our service dog without making us feel awkward about it at all. Great massages from Steve and Nicole. Firm pressure knocked out the tension. If I had one criticism it would be that the facilities have not been refreshed in a while, but they have full menu of services and everything you need to relax including co-ed hot tub and a nice lounge. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I booked the salt room for my mother and I. When we first entered it was freezing, we weren't greeted and when we finally spoke to a worker they were so rude. I was expecting the area to warm up when we went to the actual salt room. Instead, it was freezing. When we asked for a robe they said no because it doesn't come with the service. We tried to cancel because it was so uncomfortable. However they refused to let us, even though we showed up and we're just uncomfortable. We escalated it to the manager on duty and she finally gave us a robe but was very nasty. We ended up just leaving because (1) horrible customer service, (2) it was still freezing and (3) the room is underwhelm, definitely not as advertised. I've been to plenty other spas and have never had such a horrible experience. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

The atmosphere was great. Prices for services are expensive but on par with other destination spas. Services themselves (massage, facial) were average but in all cases (6 services total) were all at least 10 minutes less than advertised. In no case were we ever in the treatment room as long as the time advertised, let alone the service itself lasting that long. When this was mentioned to the spa manager it was met with a shrug. read more

Amazing, this was my first spa experience and I'm amazed. I normally feel awkward getting any service done, but I didn't even care because I fell right asleep when I laid down. I had the normal personalized facial (50 min - $135), and I don't remember the aestheticians name but she was really good. The beds are heated during your treatment so I fell asleep and had a hard time getting up when she was done because I was so relaxed. The hydrotherapy room is really nice, only thing is I think they need to update the 2 showers right outside the hot tub area, the a few knobs were broken and it was confusing on how to turn it off. read more

My girlfriend and I came to get massages and enjoy a night at the spa. Right off the start Jessica was very Inclusive and signed us up for a couples massage. All the ladies and staff made us feel safe and welcomed. The amenities were amazing 10/10! Kristine and Nicole did an amazing job with our massages, would definitely recommend both of them! Would also recommend enjoying the amenities such as the hottub, steam room, and sauna before your massage because they use a nice lotion during a massage. VERY UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE: I had a horrible experience this morning when I checked in for the salt therapy treatment. The woman who "greeted" me at the front desk was unprofessional, rude and condescending. I was there yesterday and had a wonderful experience (Nicole, the massage therapist, was wonderful and the front desk staff - a different team to today - were terrific). But back to this morning - when I registered again, I indicated that I was there early - 40 minutes before - and the woman brought me through, brusquely told me she would let me in to the salt room at 11 and when I asked if it was possible to go early she said "nope, these treatments are on the hour." She then vaguely pointed me in the vicinity of the lockers, told me I couldn't take my phone or anything in and left. I was very confused, she didn't give me a robe or slippers, nor tell me if I could use the hydro suite. I had my swimsuit with me and was going to just use the sauna and steam room but thought I should ask if it was included. I assumed it would be as this spa with its exorbitant prices purports to be a high-end spa. When I went back out to the front desk, the woman glared with me and when I asked about robe or slippers, she snapped they were not included. I'm like...what am I supposed to wear in the salt room and was thinking: "am I supposed to walk around in my bare feet??" I was just shocked at her unprofessional and negative attitude. I then dared to ask if the hydro suite was included and she condescendingly said no. I could feel myself getting angry and stressed so instead of saying something I would regret, I decided to just leave. I have been so stressed all day thinking about how I was treated (it's really NOT ok to have this attitude when you work in a spa) and my husband had bought this add-on service for me to relieve my sinuses that have been playing up. Anyway, I do believe this spa team needs to be very specific in their communications about what IS or is NOT included in the salt therapy treatment, and tell people they will not have a robe or slippers (need to bring their own), won't have access to any other facilities and won't get in there early. I have been to spas all across the world for 30 years and this honestly was the worst customer care experience I've experienced. read more

The Kalahari spa was a great respite from the chaotic water park and common areas of the resort. They have a Himalayan salt room which was amazing and so relaxing. Wonderful sauna and jacuzzi. And I had a fantastic massage from Alexis!!! I could have spent the whole day there! read more

DO NOT GO TO ERICA!! Extremely rude and unprofessional, not to mention her skill level for massage therapy was poor. BUT the manager, Kerri, and the receptionist, Rebekah, were very helpful and attentive. When they were made aware of Erica's inappropriate behavior and poor attitude they immediately resolved the issue. The spa is clean and Steve gives an excellent massage. We went with a large group for a bachelorette party and overall enjoyed our time. read more
