We Initially decided to try out the boat club in hopes it would be something fun for my family to do. After trying out the "boat life" for 2 months, we decided this just wasn't for us. I explained this to "Rafa" and the rest of the team who have contacted us. We were told Freedom Boat Club will not give us back the 6k entry fee we had to pay. I was told "Unfortunately, we do not offer a prorated refund of our entry fee, unless under extenuating circumstances such as a death of a member." Meaning...if a member or members husband or wife die, he or she can get a refund on their entry fee during their time with Freedom Boat Club, but someone who was honest about their experience and who has only been a member for 2 months does not get a refund at all???? Am I not understanding how that is fair across the board. I understand Freedom Boat Club has policies to follow, but I don't understand why Freedom Boat Club thinks it's ok to keep 6k from a member that has only been there for 2 months. I just can't seem to understand how a business or franchise thinks that's ok. I don't know if it's because a commission has been paid out or if there are other reasons, but this is not ok. This seems like Freedom Boat Club is being very SELECTIVE with their members and not being fair across the board. This is not a way to keep members/customers or gain new members. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BEING A MEMBER AT THIS BOAT CLUB SEE ATTACHED PICTURE. So you can be a member and if you die, you will probably get a refund, but if your only a member for 2 months and you're honest about the experience, you don't get a refund??? How is that ok? I surprised my bestie with a boat day this past weekend as a celebration, and we had the most…read moreincredible day. Right from the beginning, Jeff responded quickly and answered all of my questions. All add-ons were included in the boat rental, which isn't the case with any other rentals that I read through. Most of them charge $40 for the floating mat, $20 for a cooler, $40 for snorkeling gear etc. All of these items were included in our price of the boat rental for the day, which was awesome and we used all of them! Jeff sent me a list of so many cool places to check out like sand bars and places to dock the boat and explore. He updated us on any weather-related issues we may have run into and was available all day for any concerns or questions we had. It was my first time renting a boat and being out on the water without a captain and we had such an easy and relaxing day, and I felt safe and assured that we weren't just going to be stranded or alone if something happened (LOL). We will absolutely be renting from Little Philly Sea Adventures and doing buisness with Jeff again in the future. Thank you so much for such an awesome experience. It was 10/10, I have no complaints at all!

That said, our rental with gas charge and tip was $198 more than the last boat we rented (from a competitor there on the bay near Bradenton) in July. This rental did not justify the significant additional charge. For comparison, my fuel upcharge was $100. The other rental had fuel included. Our previous rental was the same size, newer and in better condition. I will likely not be renting from Sunshine unless we can rectify this situation.
