We met ahead of time and she was unbelievably helpful in not only planning how the photographs would go, but also the logistics of the proposal itself. I had planned on a beach proposal and I was able to give Julie a cooler with my now fiancée's favorite snacks and a bottle of champagne. Not only did Julie bring the cooler so that my fiancée had no idea, but she also brought a blanket for us! As much as I appreciated her being a great assistant in my proposal plans, it truly was her masterful photography skills that blew me away. Julie was able to capture our walk up the beach, the actual proposal, and then a number of photos afterwards. I'm not sure how, but Julie was able to get photographs of my fiancée and I on the beach in Saco on an August Saturday at noontime without anyone in the background! Not only are the photos amazing, Julie was the perfect mixture of allowing my fiancée and I to enjoy our moment while also capturing different photos and poses. I cannot recommend Julie enough!

Best Fresh Photographer for Intimate New Hope, PA Weddings!…read more We had the pleasure of working with Kasey Ivan Photography for our wedding in New Hope, PA. When we set out looking for someone, we were overwhelmed because honestly it's not every day that you think about how you would like to be photographed and then have to put it into words. We weren't going traditional; we had an intimate outdoor wedding at a B&B with a rustic and simple elegance. We knew what we didn't want, the "standard wedding photographer"... someone that churns out the same photo for every couple and then upsells them the standard coffee table book. From there we figured out that what was important to us. We wanted someone with a fresh eye. My fiance came across his website after a LOT of searching and it had a refreshing feel to it. Kasey's photos captured actual emotion. We met Kasey in person and he was genuinely passionate about what he did and was interested in our story. When he said that the more involved with our love story he was, the more emotion he could put into the photography. SOLD. He asked us lots of questions. We talked for a while and by the time we left we wanted to hire someone else...so we could INVITE HIM AS A GUEST! He was a great listener, answered our questions, referred a videographer and makeup artist, AND his fees were much more realistic than many of the other outfits. There was no way we were going to pay several thousands of dollars for a photographer's assistant that we haven't met, to come follow us around for 8 hours. And the bonus was that he didn't try to force a printed book on us. He was perfectly fine with giving the electronic files. We decided to do a First Look session before the ceremony for many reasons. At first, I was against it because I wanted to be able to see his face for the first time as I walked down the aisle. Kasey suggested that I could walk up to my fiance while his back was turned and tap him on the shoulder. That way he wouldn't actually see me walking up to him. This made ALL the difference in the world and now we are so glad we did it. I can't even express how important, peaceful and meaningful that time was. We were able to stare at each other, feel the emotion, take the time to connect privately...(while being photographed and filmed). I learned later that Kasey even helped my fiancé put on his cufflinks. What an amazing individual. Anyway, even if his photos sucked we would still give him great reviews, but we got our USB drives and finally had the time to go through them. They were exactly what we asked for; we got amazing shots full of emotion from the First Look, breathtaking posed shots around the barn and property, and then the "not posed" action shots we wanted...unscripted real life. There are some awful shots of people's faces, but that's what happens in real life. I'm grateful he didn't remove those because we wanted to see it all! And just to top it off, towards the end of the night we asked him to join us on the dance floor. He was so much fun and danced a jig...or maybe it was moshing, not sure...but it was late. He fit right in and that's what kind of photographer we wanted. Thank you Kasey!

I had a summer internship in Maine, and when my family decided to come visit me I decided it would…read morebe a great time to get a family portrait done. It proved difficult to find a photographer within my price range that had quality photos that I liked. Fidelio was perfect for us. This review is from the family photo perspective. Pros: - 2 photographers. Jessica does a lot of the official "smile now, kids, damnit" photos while her husband Lyle gets a lot of the candid moments that often go missed. What you get with this combination is an awesome set of photos you'll have on your mantel, and the photos you'll actually treasure that have some of the irreverent moments. - The photos. I'm not an extremely emotional person, but some of them brought tears to my eyes. We had three generations at our photo shoot, and some of the ones of my grandparents especially were just really touching. - Jessica and Lyle were great to work with. Professional but personable, and when we had ideas for shots they were totally willing to do them. They bring the artistry of professional photographers, but not the snobbery--if you have an idea they are definitely willing to run with it. Con - We had our photos done at a really busy time for Jessica and Lyle and had to wait a while (~ 2 1/2 weeks, which could be entirely normal, I'm not a big family photo connoisseur) for our photos. That said, they were awesome and entirely worth the wait.
