Our beloved rescue pittie Katie had a serious phobia of vet visits. On top of this she had arthritis and other health issues from an early age. My guess is that they can keep the prices so competitive by only accepting Cash/Venmo. If you are not digitally inclined/"old school" this may not be the best fit for you. We've been seeing Dr. Daniel for several years now -- and we're sticking with her. What cat likes the vet? Well, ours love Dr. Daniel and TJ. For us and for our kitties, it's so much less stressful to have the vet come over to our home to see our kitties. Not only are they not panicked and in distress, but they're frankly quite happy to be hanging out with the vet. My orange cat was rolling over, showing his belly to them and his sister was loafing by them, rubbing her little head on their bags and their knees. Not only are visits so much less stressful, but they're also much more productive. Because we're not having to worry about the logistics of getting our cats to the vet, and dealing with all the headache associated with that, I've noticed that we think much more holistically about our questions for the vet and how to improve quality of life for the kitties. This vet diagnosed my cat with severe hypertension with systolic BPs of 200 to 220. She used just a stethoscope on my cat's leg. The vet then put her on amlodipine for hypertension. Over the next several weeks my poor cat got weaker and weaker. She couldn't climb stairs anymore and eventually just lay down all day looking tired and weak. I didn't understand what was happening, and I thought she was slowly dying. I took her to the SPCA where she was found to be hypotensive with a systolic blood pressure of around 80, using Doppler equipment to locate the leg artery. The SPCA vet took her off the amlodipine immediately. Labs showed my cat had progressed from Stage 1 (creatinine 1.5) to Stage 2B renal disease (creatinine 2.7) in just the several weeks since she had been prescribed the amlodipine. Once my cat was off the amlodipine, her systolic BP rose to normal, and within a day she was back to being able to walk, frolic, and climb stairs again. Unfortunately kidney damage is mostly irreversible. Ever since then, whenever her new vets have measured her BP during routine checkups, they have had to work REALLY hard to find the leg artery. Sometimes it takes 20 minutes for them to locate the artery, even WITH Doppler. They do not just place a stethoscope on the leg and say they can instantly and almost effortlessly hear the sound of blood whooshing in the leg artery. My cat's BP has been normal in the 110s to 120s (on no BP medication) over the last couple of years since this unfortunate experience. Based on my cat's totally normal BP measurements off of any medication, and how hard my cat's new vets have to struggle to find the artery, even with Doppler equipment, I don't think there's any way that the BP "measurements" over 200 by this vet were real. This vet has a very nice bedside manner. But I believe my cat was never hypertensive and she was really hurt by a careless misdiagnosis. read more

So going to a vet was never fun for either of us (or for the vet, most likely). But Pickle LOVES when Dr. Daniel comes over! She runs out to greet her like a long-lost friend. I was out of options finding available vets to see Dudu, my 11yr old fur baby, who has been vomiting almost every hour for a 24hr period, refused to eat, and not holding much water. ER would be my last resort, but I was hesitant. Not only for previous ER bad experiences, but also the unforeseen hours of waiting and the stress added to a very sick cat. After an overnight search on Yelp, I came across Dr. Daniel's Housecall from The Kind Vets. Some very positive experiences from almost all reviewers. I was desperate, went ahead and tried my luck, texted Dudu's unsettling situation to The Kind Vets. The Kind Vets responded to my text within an hour, and that seriously gave me hope! Tiff was so kind to manage an urgent care appointment for Dudu with Dr. Daniel within a couple hours! She asked some questions about Dudu, gave me all the information I need, made me understand that Dr may recommend ER comprehensive care depends on the severity of Dudu's condition. Tiff walked me through all the details gracefully. Dr. Sarah Daniel arrived promptly and masked up, very respectful to our no shoes household, and she even brought her own shoe covers. We have been clients of Dr. Sarah for several years now, for our very elderly cats initially, and now that they're gone (they both made it well into their 20's) for our aging dog, Harry (17, and doing well, tho with issues.) She and her staff are extremely skilled professionals, but also, as the name suggests, very compassionate and yes, kind. Just nice people, really. Home visit vet care can be tricky; they obviously can't do everything that a vet can do in an office, but the Kind Vets manage to do a very surprising amount in the home, and are able to explain, and recommend in-office practices for, what they can't do. This review is long overdue, but it is beyond well deserved. Dr Daniel is by far the best veterinarian I have ever worked with. My great dane, Dizzie was born with some bone deformities and was diagnosed with arthritis at the age of 2, so we required a lot of special physical therapy and ongoing advice about her health and treatments. Dizzie also hated going into vet offices and was always incredibly scared and anxious there. So we decided to try out mobile vet services so she could get checked out at home where she felt more comfortable. We met Dr Daniel back in 2019 when she came by our home for a general health check. Dr Daniel was professional, friendly, knowledgable, and most importantly, patient and so sweet with Dizzie. It really didn't take long for Dizzie to warm up to Dr Daniel, and they became fast friends. I was so thrilled about Dizzie's newfound confidence and dare I say, excitement, around being treated by a vet. We went ahead and scheduled Dr Daniel for regular laser therapy treatments, and Dizzie grew to love her even more. It got to a point where I would say "Dizzie, who's here? Is Dr Daniel here? You want the lasers?" and I would open the door and Dizzie would excitedly sprint (in her own wobbly way) towards Dr Daniel each and every time she stopped by. Dizzie would lead her into our home and immediately lay down in her bed, ready to start her laser therapy. It was truly beautiful and heart-warming to see how much she loved her vet. Additionally, we noticed a huge improvement in Dizzie's mobility. She didn't seem as achy and sore all the time, and could get up from bed easier. And just from the way she behaved during the actual treatment, it was obvious that it relieved her pain and discomfort. I was so incredibly sad when we had to move away from San Francisco, and I definitely cried saying goodbye to Dr Daniel. Because I knew I would never find someone like her again. Dr. Sarah Daniel is, hands-down, the best vet in the Bay. Our dogs used to quiver like little leaves in the wind in the car on the way to the vet and the entire time we were at the vet. Leaving was like their first day out of a prison sentence. We could see how stressed it made them, and that's not healthy! So, we thought, why put them through that when doing something that's supposed to be for their health? Luckily, we found Dr. Daniel! She has been a godsend for our dogs. They get to be at home, where they're comfortable, calm, and happy, instead of stressing out in a strange place. They also ADORE her. Her love of animals is so genuine and authentic. She gets down and plays with them on the floor, and I swear, my Japanese Chin just might like her more than me lol. Dr. Daniel, however, told us what regular OTC allergy medicine we could get from CVS or Walgreens. She's not trying to gouge you like so many vets in SF. She also has this awesome device that NFL players use for laser therapy to treat muscle pulls and issues, which has helped both of my dogs immensely and immediately when they've had sprains and limps. She really knows her stuff, and we are SO THANKFUL we found her. Trusting your pets' care to someone is a big deal--and we hope to have Dr. Daniel as our forever vet. We're so lucky to have found Dr. Daniel! She and her team are true professionals and pet lovers. We have a 14-year old American Eskimo, and we recently adopted two four-month old kittens who are little balls of energy. Dr. Daniel was great with all three of them during their checkups and follow up vaccination appointments. She also gave us great advice for how to best care for our kittens and senior dog. Dr. Daniel is knowledgeable, compassionate, and you can tell she truly loves animals and her work. I have a cat that suffers from stress-related GI issues which can get very serious. This is exacerbated by trips to the animal hospital which is such a stressful environment, especially for indoor cats who are rarely out of their element. Dr. Daniel was able to help with my goals, answer a bunch of questions, and talk through my pet's situation with me in the comfort of our home.
