Sarah was amazing and am so happy we chose her for our engagement photos! She was very professional and detailed which I loved and quick to respond with detailed answers. We chose two location shots in Laguna Beach Top of the World and down at the beach in November for mid afternoon and sunset shots. She captured our "must have" photos and couldn't be happier with the results! Also super glad she provided all digital copies to us! We used the photos for our holiday card and it turned out perfect.
We have been taking photos with Sarah for the last decade because she is ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL. No one in my family is a model, nor do we feel comfortable in front of the camera. But Sarah has this way that makes you feel totally at ease which completely shows in the photos. I think this is part of the reason photos with her always turn out so fantastic! Recently I even did boudoir photos with her. It was something I always wished I could work up the nerve to do but never did. Sarah gave me the confidence and tools (her prep worksheet was detailed yet easy) to successfully pull off the hottest photos for my hubby's Valentine's gift. I highly, highly, really do recommend working with her.
Sarah is such an amazing photographer. She can work her magic and capture beautiful photos anywhere. It's a huge plus that she's super sweet and really funny and easy to feel comfortable with. Having Sarah on our vendor team was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. My husband and I aren't really great in front of the camera but Sarah knew how to pose us just exactly right. Even when everyone (us and our bridal party) feels a little awkward in front of the camera she makes it fun and silly and the pictures turned out great. Not only is she super great the day of but during the entire process. She's very responsive to emails and makes great suggestions from picture location to what you can wear to make great engagement pictures. And now to the most important part, the photos. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. The lighting and editing Sarah does is just beyond perfect. We are so pleased with our pictures and she got us about 100 sneak peek photos back in just 2 days after the wedding. Every picture is beautiful! We are in love with them. I highly highly recommend Sarah for any photography needs. You won't regret it.
If you need a photographer just hire her. Sarah is amazing at what she does. I used her to shoot my engagement and we couldn't be happier, I think the pictures speak for themselves but the whole experience was great. On the business side, she is so responsive and easy to deal with. I had several venue changes because of a variety of factors and she gave me advice the whole way through which really helped. On the photo shoot side, she knows the area so well that I didn't need to think about much she knew exactly where to hide to get perfect shots, she knew how to pose us as well as capture some of our favorite candid shots. We can't say enough good things about her and her work. Would gladly hire her again in the future.
This review is way overdue considering we first started working with Sarah back in 2017! Sarah is very special and is literally amazing at what she does. Back in 2016 when my now husband and I got engaged I was looking for a specific type of photographer. What I mean by that is someone who can tell a story and capture those in between moments that just give you all the feels. Personally, in today's resources, anyone can take a great photo, but it takes a special kind of photographer to tell YOUR story and when you look back at those photos you remember exactly what you were feeling in that moment. The photos Sarah took of me and my husband during our engagement is shoot always remind me of how much fun we have with each other, how good we are for each other, and how in love we are for each other. My only regret is that we did not book Sarah for our wedding, and that's only because we had already signed a contract with another photographer before I had even met Sarah! But we did make up for it by booking her again this year for our maternity shoot :) Sarah is so great to work with. What's important to you is important to her. Once you hire Sarah as a photographer, you won't want to go with anyone else... even if your close friends are photographers lol.
Before I go into the fact that Sarah is everything you are looking for in a photographer and you should just hire her now, I want to start by saying that she can produce beautiful images in ANY SCENARIO. I'm an ex wedding photographer, and this is something I was looking for when hiring one for my own wedding. A wedding day is more than just photos during a beautiful sunset - there are small hotel rooms, dimly lit churches, and dark receptions with multi colored strobe lights. In our case, we had a pitch black planetarium, red tinted Brazilian bbq restaurant, and massive warehouse - AKA all incredibly difficult photography scenarios. Sarah mf NAILED IT in every single location. All the pictures from our wedding day are not only gorgeous, but consistent throughout the entirety of the day. My wedding was a particularly long, multi-location occasion, and Sarah and her assistant handled it flawlessly. I searched endlessly for a photographer that could do this and wouldn't leave us looking like there was a harsh flash on us in a black hole, and Sarah delivered above and beyond. She truly has the skills and knowledge to work in any scenario - something that is rare and hard to find. She was also kind, super easy to work with, thorough, and honestly just incredibly talented. We chatted multiple times, did venue walks through, and worked through the details of the wedding prior. A wedding day flies by so quickly and photos are one of the only things you'll have to look back on - you want a true, seasoned professional like Sarah who can handle anything.
One of the most important vendors to hire for your wedding is a photographer who can capture all your precious moments during the engagement and wedding session. Sarah Mack should be your only choice to consider. During our search for wedding photographers, we talked to over 50 photographers because we wanted to find the best of the best. I had been following Sarah on Instagram and had saved one of the photos she took from a wedding since I liked the composition and contrast of her photos. In my first telephonic conversation with her, I was impressed how she understood exactly what kind of aesthetic and photos we wanted. Since we were going to have a traditional Vietnamese wedding, we wanted a photographer who had previous experience but could also capture great lighting in an indoor setting. Sarah's photos from her galleries proved that she had the expertise and design style we were looking for. Vibrant photos with natural poses and yet with a touch of elegance. Sarah was always patient, communicative, easy-going, and very friendly throughout the entire process. For our engagement photos, we wanted to showcase our love for the outdoors and picturesque mountain landscape, so we did pay traveling fees to have her capture photos at Big Bear Lake. Everyone that has seen our photos are amazed with how she was able to capture our love for one another and the natural beauty of the area. We love our engagement photos and were so excited to have her capture our wedding day as well. As like most couples in 2020, we had to postpone our wedding to 2021, but Sarah was able to honor our new wedding date without any additional charges which goes to show how much she cares about her couples. Timing didn't work out exactly as planned since she became pregnant and would be on maternity leave around our wedding date. We were so happy for her but also sad that she personally would not be able to photograph our special day. She gave us a few options about the next steps, and we were able to commit to having her friend and fellow photographer Kevin take her place instead. She committed to conducting all the edits in her style and did a smooth transition process so that everything was handled in an orderly fashion. Kevin, Jasmyn, and Emily were our photography team on our wedding day, and they did an amazing job capturing those moments with the edits Sarah made! We loved how it showcased our loved ones and friends celebrating with us. Her team consists of the lead photographer, second photographer, as well as a lighting assistant. All three members are critical to having the best wedding photos possible which is already included as part of her package. Sarah truly embodies a photographer who loves her work and knows exactly how to capture the couple in the best light. We value Sarah's work and knew that we wanted to purchase the album directly through her as well. I've been sharing with all my friends to book Sarah Mack if they need a photographer since she is the photographer you need to hire! We're so grateful and honored that we worked with Sarah Mack and maybe later down the road we will come back for more photos as we continue our married life together.
I chose Sarah Mack to do my husband and I's engagement and wedding photos because I wanted the best: someone who could capture emotions authentically AND do more lifestyle type photos.I was not interested in portrait style only (which other photographers did well, but that's not me). She did not disappoint. Her work is great!!!! We loved our wedding photos from earlier this month and our engagement shoot. They really look like art work. My mom even loved it (and she's hard to impress). Sarah's communication is great too! She is always responsive - via text and email. During shoots, she really is on top of her game and tells you what to do (because my husband and I are not naturals at posing). I think Sarah is priced a little higher than average (just for those who are price-conscious), but it's well-worth it if it's your wedding. I will definitely be coming back for our additional life-event photos (i.e. future maternity shoot, family shoots, etc.!)
WHERE DO I START?! We had our first engagement shoot with Sarah and her assistant last week and she was super easygoing and fun to work with! She was super helpful suggesting poses, fixing our hair when needed and getting the "it" shot. We had our session at the mission in SJC + Laguna Beach. She wasn't afraid to get her pants dirty to get the perfect shot AND when we decided to hop into the ocean to get the shots we wanted, she hopped right in there with us! She really went above and beyond for us and I couldn't be more grateful for that. If you are looking for a not only an amazing photographer but an amazing overall person - YOU'VE FOUND HER. Also the preview shots we received are PERFECT. I have shown my friends and their jaw literally dropped. You will not be disappointed!
I don't know where to begin! I loved Working with Sarah. From the beginning she was super organized and on time with our initial phone call to assisting with where to take our engagement photos. Such a smooth process overall! The day of shoot couldn't have gone more perfect. Sarah is super sweet, genuine and overall fun to work with. My fiance and I had so much fun! Photos were back within the time frame she promised and exceeded our expectations. We will definitely use Sarah for future shoots. Thanks again Sarah!
Getting Sarah to do our engagement and wedding photos is by far, one of the best decisions my now-husband and I have made for our wedding! Going in, my then-fiance and I knew we definitely wanted to stay away from wedding photos that felt too posed/stiff/staged. We also wanted to not just showcase ourselves, but our wedding venue (Aquarium of the Pacific) and the locations of our engagement photos, since they held significant sentimental value for both of us. So when I saw her portfolio full of amazing beach shots, I was hooked. However, the main selling point for me (as an artist) is the diversity of styles she can deliver! She can do everything from light and airy, dark and moody, night photography, editorial, her own signature vibrant style, and epic (my personal favorite). We were both a little camera-shy and uncertain at first, but Sarah manages to make us laugh and eventually enjoy ourselves. Her assistants are also really sweet and professional. They probably cared more about making sure my super long veil/cape didn't drag on the ground, when I myself was already resigned to it getting a little dirty with how long it was. Overall though, my husband and I couldn't be happier with our engagement & wedding photos if we tried! The photos were also especially important to us, since we both had relatives overseas that weren't able to make it. I'm also really glad we were able to share our Aquarium Wedding with Sarah, though with the quality of her photos, you can't even tell it was her first time to shoot a wedding at the Aquarium!!!

Once we decided to host our wedding at Lido House, Sarah was the only option we considered to be our photographer. My instincts told me that a photographer with prior experience at our venue would show up in the pictures themselves. Lo and behold, they did! Sarah was an impeccable director throughout our Welcome Party & Wedding + Reception. She has the golden finger with her camera and was able to capture us (we're camera shy), our family and our friends perfectly. Everyone was so impressed with her rapid turnaround on our Sneak Peeks. The joy of reliving our Wedding and being able to share these moments with vendors and guests is priceless. She was worth every penny and is even featured on the front page of Lido's Events Pamphlet. Choosing Sarah as out wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made while planning our wedding. She photographed our engagement shoot, our legal ceremony in Beverly Hills, and our big celebration in Culver City, and every experience with her was fantastic. She was incredibly easy to work with, communicated clearly, and really listened to what we wanted. She helped us feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera, and the photos reflect that. They are beautiful, joyful, and full of genuine candid moments between us, which is exactly what we hoped for. Sarah is an incredibly skilled photographer, and the composition of her shots was breathtaking! Sarah Mack is a spectacular wedding photographer and such a lovely human. We just received our full album from our Santa Monica wedding and are so thrilled with the way she captured our special day. We threw some big requests at Sarah and her assistant, Mike, and they got every shot. A group picture of 130+ people in front of the church? Got it. 7 flowers girls coming down the aisle? Got it. A wedding party of 18 people on the beach? Got it. Through difficult weather, time constraints, location limits, crying flower girls, etc., she went above and beyond for us and we are so grateful. I can't say enough about how amazing Sarah's photography skills are. The moment I got engaged, my big sis told me to immediately contact Sarah to see if she would be available to capture our big day. My sister swore by her and has been having her take family pictures for Christmas cards for years. Safe to say, going with her was the best decision we ever made! Sarah is so easy to work with, she is able to help anyone go from anxious/nervous to extremely comfortable in a manner of time. The direction she gave me, my husband, and entire family was extremely helpful (especially for fam members who don't know how to pose or what to do with their hands). Sarah really went above and beyond for us. She was able to help us figure out a great timeline for our wedding day, the woman even stopped pumping her breast milk to come and save the day (when my drunk matron of honor couldn't bustle my dress, LOL). We were soo happy with our pictures that I decided to even do a boudoir shoot with her shortly after our wedding (something I NEVER thought I would do). And I am so so excited to give these to my husband as a gift. I already told my husband we would be contacting Sarah to do all of our future family pictures and hiring her for any photography needs down the road. 10/10 HIGHLY recommend!! Sarah Mack and her team are the absolute BEST!! Sarah is amazing at what she does and she always goes above and beyond. She took our engagement and wedding photos and both turned out to blow our expectations out of the water! She makes you feel so comfortable in front of the camera, always gets the best angles and coaches you to make sure you look the absolute best. Her direction is so helpful and really makes the who experience enjoyable. Her team did such an amazing job at our wedding, they were so helpful and on top of everything. Hands down the best vendor we chose! We have gotten sooo many compliments on our engagement and wedding photos from friends and family. Really could not recommend Sarah enough!! read more

I had my engagement photos shot with Sarah and it was an amazing experience... it couldn't have gone any better! It was a full day of shooting in LA at the Angeles National forest, and in an airbnb that we had rented for the day. My fiancee & I knew that we wanted a forest landscape for some of our photos, and Sarah had an amazing eye for the perfect backdrops. I couldn't believe how gorgeous the shots were when we got them. The light, the scenery, the colors... even my fiancee and I looked better in the photos than we did in reality! I was so pleasantly surprised! The last half of the day we shot at the airbnb for some cool, edgy, city vibe shots inside and on the rooftop of the building. The photos we got back were magazine quality editorial shots... they were so cool! Needless to say, Sarah can capture whatever mood or style you are into. Just show her your inspo and you'll get exactly that! I am so happy with the photos that Sarah took... they are above and beyond my expectations! We had our photos playing as a slideshow at our engagement party, and everyone was so impressed & wanted to know who our photographer was. It was also hard to choose just one photo for our save the dates, there were so many good ones! If you feel nervous about being in front of a camera, just know that Sarah will make you feel at ease throughout the whole thing! We can not speak more highly of Sarah and her talent. We booked Sarah for our micro wedding 11.01.20. We planned, booked and were married in less than an month. She was punctual to respond to emails as well as phone calls and was very professional. It is certainly obvious she loves what she does and takes pride in her work. She was pleasant and reassuring on the day of our wedding, allowing us to feel comfortable and natural in our photos. Our teasers we back within days an we received all of our photos just recently. Sarah captured our beautiful day and I couldn't have asked for a better photographer! She was very understanding and patient, but yet very efficient with the time we had together on our big day. Sarah started by getting to know us as a couple and understanding what's important for us to be captured on our big day. We had our first consultation and another call a month prior to our big day to discuss all the details. The outcome of our pictures were more than what we could have asked for. She captured every little detail from our first look, our guests, our venue, our ceremony/reception, you name it! As the bride and groom, your big day is so busy and it's really hard to remember everything. When I look back at our pictures I just can't help, but to fall back into time and feel like I'm reliving our wedding day all over again! Please do yourselves a favor and book her for your big day! Sarah and her team were amazing to work with! We found Sarah through our wedding venue and we are so glad we did! We ended up hiring Sarah but used one of her associates to save a little and he was great! We love our pictures and have received so many compliments! We were fortunate enough to have Sarah photograph our wedding. She is extremely talented and having her as our photographer was one of the best wedding decisions we made.
