The steel helped build the west and other parts of the country. It highlights the hardships of the people that made this possible and the interesting process making steel and steel products. Victoria, the curator/presenter, did an amazing job making the museum interesting with well designed and engaging displays. I loved discovering the myriad of historical items- medical equipment, machinery, clothing, and so forth. The historical architecture of the beautiful building is also a plus. It's a great way to learn about the history of Pueblo's steel mill and all the CF&I Company's Colorado operations. They have tons of great old photos and the curator is awesome; she'll give you a free tour. You can't go inside the steel mill itself, but a variety of old movies give you a hair-raising introduction to the process of steelmaking. The exhibits cover everything from steel-making to the lives of the miners to the Ludlow Massacre to the only mining rescue train car still in existence. It's worth a visit if you're interested in steel, mining, CF&I, Pueblo, or Colorado history. Still, if they want five stars they're going to have to install and run some actual machines (or scale models) like the Western Mining Museum. They're expanding into a bigger building so we'll just have to come back to see what they do with all the new space.

They have one of the longest serving B-29 Superfortress that regularly flew out of Tinian island bombing Japan during WWII. They also have multiple jets for the armed forces, helicopters during the Vietnam War, a MIG 15 & 17 all in hangar 1 and outside. I barely had time to go thru hangar 2 with more aircraft and multiple displays & equipment from various spacecraft incuding the Mercury & Apollo missions, Skylab and I.S.S. Definitely a repeat visit. They are open Mon-Sat 10am-4pm, Sun 1pm-4pm. Nice gift shop. Admission is $10, seniors (65+) is $8. Children under 7 free.

I went on tour of this farm today and it is completely amazing what they have done with just five…read moreacres and how well they have done it. They offer raw milk shares and they do more tests on their milk then any raw milk operation I know. They also have organic chicken eggs, organic chicken, organic turkeys and organic lamb. I was very impressed with how they treat and care for all their animals and the land. They aim for not just sustainability but regenerative farming! I love it. I wish all farms would operate more like this. Very impressed.
