My experience at Le Roi (managed by stream-line) has been less than satisfactory. A mere three days…read moreafter moving in, my brand-new bicycle was stolen from the designated storage area. Upon requesting to review the surveillance footage, I was granted access, but regrettably, the cameras that would have captured the perpetrator entering the property and accessing the bicycle were, coincidentally, non-functional.
Subsequently, we encountered a series of package thefts from the mail area, particularly targeting Amazon deliveries. It is rather peculiar that the individual responsible managed to avoid being captured on camera. After conducting my own investigation, I have reason to believe - with 95% certainty - that the individual in question has access to the relevant areas and is familiar with the comings and goings of residents. Without making any direct accusations, it is worth noting that the maintenance staff meets these criteria.
Since relocating to Le Roi, I have faced persistent issues with my HVAC system, necessitating eight service requests. Despite maintaining a polite demeanor and attempting to inject humor into the situation, my most recent interaction with management and staff was met with blatant rudeness. One would assume that after three years and eight service visits, management would be apologetic for the maintenance team's inability to resolve the issue. On one occasion, a staff member named Leo inspected a vent (not a return vent) and simply commented on its dirtiness as the root cause. Subsequently, I emailed Saul, suggesting that the issue may be beyond Leo's technical expertise. Instead of addressing the matter, Saul forwarded my message to Leo, causing understandable resentment.
Throughout this ordeal, I have taken days off work, endured sleepless nights without air conditioning, and even researched the system, downloading technical specifications and reviewing related blog posts to diagnose the problem. It appears there is a small, intermittent short in the main control board that manifests after a power surge in the building, causing various components to fail. A professional technician from the AC company replaced the blower and mentioned that if further issues arose, the main board would need to be replaced. Despite this advice, Leo continues to replace individual components rather than addressing the root cause due to his lack of advanced troubleshooting skills.
Moreover, Saul's email response to my inquiry about
similar HVAC issues in other units raises concerns about potential underlying problems with the building's systems. The unprofessional attitude and dismissive tone exhibited by staff throughout these interactions are unacceptable.
A prime example of the aggressive behavior demonstrated by management is the abrupt removal of lockboxes from the fence, which had been in place for over three years. With no advance notice or consideration, this action led to an unsettling incident where I awoke at 4 am, fearing a break-in, only to discover that my neighbor had to call a locksmith to access their apartment due to their keys being in the removed lockbox. Proper communication could have easily prevented this situation.
I reached out to Saul regarding an issue with the lock boxes, and the response I received exemplifies the crux of the problem. It appears that the management company is adopting an adversarial stance rather than fostering open communication and collaboration to resolve issues.
It is truly disheartening to see such a beautiful and exceptional building, of which you should be immensely proud, being undermined by the management company's poor customer service, internal corruption, and propensity for creating problems.
I then reported safety violations and was served with a "notice of non-renewal"
