Honestly I was skeptical not being a lover of the humid warm weather weather in Florida but it quickly grew on me. The people in this park felt like family. We made so many friends and the management team Adam , Angie and Dale were always available and keeping the park in tip top shape. We had a lovely back in site (#50) which had a good amount of shade and spacious enough for out 40ft mothorhome and jeep with plenty of room to spare for relaxing, lounging and grilling. There is a beautiful pond in the middle of the park with birds that come and go and and an area to walk your dog . The only thing I would recomend is squeezing a dog park in there somehow ( long enough for dogs to play ball) and maybe a pickle ball court lol! The area is great... if you like to walk or ride bikes there are many beautiful white sand beaches to explore, great restaurants and tons of activities in the area. We'll be back!!!

He and his assistants Dale and Angie are always available, you see them all during the day working, if you need anything they are ready to assist in a super nice way/great attitude! In fact we see Adam all the time, including the weekends, he always asks as he's passing by if everything is okay or if we need anything. The sites are full hookup; the landscape is beautiful; with a nice pool that extends to an undercover pavilion shaded area so we can play cards when we're not in the pool. It's only 0.7 miles from our campsite to the other side of the bridge, to the beach. I love Buttonwood RV Resort so much, I wish I could live here all year long!

I will start off by saying that 5 stars are not nearly enough to rate the experience with my stay…read morehere. It really is already clearly stated perfectly in the name "FARM OF DREAMS". To say this majestic and beautiful place is a hidden gem seems both incredibly accurate, as well as not entirely accurate enough. I firmly believe that any way this amazing place could be described or complimented would somehow still be far understated. If I am giving the standard rating based on stars and personal experience, I must say that this is a "MUST SEE" Florida destination. The Farm of Dreams is magnificent from the moment you pull up to the coded gate that offers a very safe/private and personal experience. Anyone that travels with little ones in tow can certainly appreciate knowing the importance of this safety bonus as an amenity. From the time you book your reservation up to the time you check out you are met with professionalism that is complimented with a type of kindness and courtesy that instantly gives that home away from home feeling. This 120acre Campground/RV resort is Family run and absolutely impeccably maintained. While your family is enjoying nature at is finest the staff works non- stop behind the scenes. On a personal note, I would like to thank Brandy for being so professional while also always maintaining a friendly and welcoming smile. Your ability to accommodate to whatever needs my family had last minute was greatly appreciated as well as impressive. Cassie a thousand thanks for your professionalism that always seemed to be attached to a great big smile while providing the most absolutely best kept and immaculately cleaned facilities. I also want to thank Josh and Joey/aka JoJo for all that you guys helped me with during my stay. As well as all that you do daily to keep this property so manicured and pristinely maintained. It truly lives up to that resort style feeling while camping. From tents, r v's, campers and cabins to choose from for your experience, this family run Jewel is something you don't want to miss. Beautiful lake view, many trails to walk hike or ride on a rented golf cart to explore. Indoor outdoor games and activities that promise to leave you relaxed, unbothered and never bored! If you have not been to the website, I highly recommend you review all they have to offer. This salt of the earth, old fashioned family run Farm of Dreams has nailed it! What you read on the site is all accurate and then some. Almost 50yrs. living in Florida with countless camping experiences, this is by far the best of the best. If you are considering a camping experience look no further and book now. There may be times where they are fully booked and you certainly don't want to miss out on this one. I recommend booking far in advance, only due to the fact that it will not stay hidden forever. Thanks to Pappa Joe, Mrs. Linda and Diane. An amazing family and an amazing job that you guys have all done turning a farm into a literal slice of Heaven on Earth with the perfect name and resort style camping experience that will no doubt bring endless smiles, laughter, relaxation and fun for all who are blessed to experience the "Farm of Dreams'"

The beaches were absolutely beautiful with soft white sand and clear Gulf water that looked straight out of a travel magazine. Even though it's a popular park, it still felt peaceful and relaxing. One of the coolest parts was how much variety there is here. You can relax on the beach, bike the trails, go kayaking, fish, camp, or explore the historic Spanish-American War-era fort. Walking through the old fort while looking out over the water was such a unique experience and made the park feel completely different from a normal beach destination. We also spotted wild Nanday Parakeets flying around the park, which made the whole place feel even more tropical and unforgettable. Seeing bright green parrots while standing near the ocean was definitely not something we expected. Everything felt very clean, well maintained, and easy to access. Fort De Soto Park is the kind of place where you could easily spend an entire day and still not see everything. We would absolutely come back again and highly recommend adding this spot to your Florida bucket list. Check out our video on our socials @reessroots

(The MAYOR Rob along with Tammy, Sam, and Cori helped us tremendously.) After arriving, the kids played in the pool, we ate dinner, and were getting everyone settled for bed when we discovered the camper we rented through RVshare was completely full of ants. We immediately panicked because it was late, we had kids with us, and we really didn't want to pack up and drive back home after already starting our weekend. That's when MAYOR Rob came to the rescue. He radioed in, and Tammy and Sam quickly showed up with a key to a cabin they had available. They helped us move our things, get everyone situated, and completely saved our Memorial Day weekend. It's rare to find people who genuinely care the way this team did. Their kindness, quick action, and willingness to help meant more to our family than they probably realize. We are beyond thankful and truly appreciative for everything they did for us. Thank you again to Rob, Tammy, Sam, and Cori for going above and beyond. This level of customer service is something special, and it's the reason we'll absolutely be back!

I'd like to give you the positives. Crisp, clean, manicured, food and bar pretty good,…read morewell-appointed amenities. We had a pretty good week, having found a quiet pool area. Saw a bald eagle and a swallow-tail kite. I'd like to tell you about that, but that's not the review. Here's the review: if you book here, you will be checking into a bizarre combination of tropical paradise, tailgate party, spring break, and a middle school playground. On St. Patrick's Day, we had been doing some sightseeing. We came back to our site, and the folks who had arrived behind us fired up their music. I don't have a problem with music or other noise prior to "quiet time," so long as it's not over the top. This was way over the top. Kim was on the phone with the nursing home about her 91-year old mother and she couldn't hear the other end of the call. We called Security and asked for help, they came around and talked to the offenders. Whereupon the offenders started yelling around "who complained about our music?" And, they sent their preteen daughters on their bicycles going around and asking "did you complain?" Let's just say it was downhill from there. They jacked the volume even more, and started taunting us. Kim lost her temper and started yelling at them to quiet down. They responded by threatening her. She told me to call security, but since they hadn't helped, and the on-duty rent-a-cop had no interest in helping, I called 911 (which the campground rules said to do in an emergency). Apparently, that was a mistake. The rent-a-cop was pissed off that we called 911 when he was supposed to already be on top of it (which he wasn't). So there was a conclave of police cars, and the night manager, and the three large guys from the offending site, etc. Bottom line: management demanded that WE leave, in half an hour, or be arrested. It's 10:30 pm, and I told the rent-a-cop that I was in no shape to drive. "Figure it out," he said, and walked away. So two 70-year olds had 30 minutes to get everything packed up and drive to some alternative place. While we were striking the site, the kids at the offending site were chanting "we won, we won." And they started playing "Hit the Road You Jack" quite loud. And the adults were yelling "we're Republicans. We can do whatever we want." They noted our Maine license plates and told us to "go back to Canada where you belong." We ended up in a wicked expensive hotel in the next town over, paying spring break prices ($340 a night!!). And we lost the cost of two nights at the campground. So if you're a party animal, this may be your kind of place. Just don't complain about anything, or you will be asked to leave. It's interesting to note which rules are enforced and which aren't. For instance, there's a poolside bar, and lots of signs between the bar and the pool saying "no food or drink beyond this point." Not only was there lots of food and drink around the pool, there were wait staff taking orders and delivering it. In retrospect, the fact that they have a rent-a-cop cruising the premises every night should have been red flag. I've never seen that before, but apparently they expect rowdiness. They just don't want to deal with the negative repercussions.
