I'm extremely over due for this review but words cannot express how grateful I am for the service that was provided. We lost our beautiful dobie, Chico on Father's Day evening. I called the following morning to inquire about services as we wanted an intimate cremation and they assured me they could do so. When we brought Chico in, we knew he was being left in good hands. They were very compassionate and showed us where he was to be cremated.. we then said our final goodbyes. They were extremely kind and helpful. I talked to a woman both times, over the phone and in person. Our poor cat, Matcha, died the day of the hurricane on September 27,2022 (unrelated to hurricane Ian). The woman called me back and told me how to preserve Matcha's body until they were safely able to reopen their store. I brought Matcha in, and they took good care of him. I can't think of anything they could have done better. I am grateful our Matcha is back home with us. read more

I purchase a pet urn from Sarasota Pet Crematory 4 years ago when I saw their video and liked their overall services. At that time my pet was fine, but, she was 15 years old and I wanted to be ready. I asked about that urn because I saw it in their catalog and love the Rainbow Bridge poem. The urn has a rainbow and it says " Until we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge " Perfect. I was encouraged to buy it now, because it might be discontinued, so I did. On 6/2/24 my sweet dog passed away at 19 years old. , 4 yrs. after I purchased the urn. On Monday, June 5, 2024 I called Sarasota Pet Crematory and let them know I would be bringing my pet. The reason I am giving them a poor review is they refused to use the urn I purchased from them. I had to take their $175 package which included a different urn. They did not care that they had already made $ on the first urn and would not make an adjustment to the package deal. Of course I still left my baby with them and paid their fee. I told them I take there other urn and just transfer the ashes at home. I considered their decision, petty and inconsiderate and just didn't make any sense to me. They encouraged me to purchase the 1st urn form THEM, they refused to use that urn when I am in need of their services. Horrible public relations and a bit heartless. read more

Losing a pet is sad. Pets are a vital part of the family, and we want the best for them throughout their lifetime. We recently said goodbye to Smokey, our puggle. More and more, families are opting to have their pet(s) cremated at the end of life. We are so pleased that we selected Sarasota Pet Crematory. They were kind and efficient, the moment we called and then came in on the same day. When we returned to get Smokey's remains a few days later, he was in a beautiful box and bag. They included a caring folder which contained words of comfort, pamphlets, a sweet certificate on Smokey, and other vital information on the process - such as weight before and after the procedure and date of cremation. Smokey received a private cremation but there are many other options and costs for families to consider. If this service is what you need, these folks are terrific to work with. Note: During the coronavirus pandemic, Sarasota Pet Crematory followed excellent protocol...gloves, masks, distancing. We felt very comfortable doing business with them. read more

They were so sympathic, yet so Professional. The cost was well beyond reasonable, and all the little things I received in addition to his ashes was wonderful! A hand-carved wooden urn with the tree of life (they have many urns and other ways to keep your pet nearby), his paw print, certificate of death, seeds for memorial flowers, a lock of fur, the tag that went with him through the process so you know it is your Pet's ashes. *only giving 1 star because I have to* My beloved Great Dane passed away on Monday after a brief illness and I was / still am distraught beyond words. He was more than just a dog; he was, and still is, a family member. I called his vet a couple hours after he passed to share the awful news. They gave me a referral of Sarasota Pet Crematory. I asked her to call them for me and have them contact me when they are free. About 30 minutes later a guy representing the Crematorium asked if I "had it taken care of yet". Bawling, I said no and not sure what to do and what the procedure is. He asked me what kind of dog and when I said Merlin is a Great Dane, he commented, "Well, that size dog is going to be pretty expensive". I advised that's not the priority or concern right now. He said he was driving around "picking up other animals and I can stop by your place and pick it up tonight". I told him his name is Merlin, not "it" and that I'd prefer to bring him to where he needs to go because I don't want his last car ride to be with a stranger. So he told me I could bring "it" to the location in Sarasota and he'd be there in about 30 minutes. I once again told him, his name is Merlin, not "it" and I want him treated with respect. He proceeded to tell me that. "I guess you need to call someone else". You don't say! Odd, because frankly I was a step ahead of you and doing just that. Really not sure how this place has decent reviews because I'm certain this isn't an isolated incident. So, either they are writing their own reviews themselves or the people who use their service don't care for, respect, or treat their animals as beings worthy of anything other than being tossed in the back of a van like trash and being called "it". Sorry, not my family member. I called Honor Thy Pet who referred to my Merlin as "your fur baby" "your loved one" and I didn't even have to tell them to do so. I took my Merlin to them and two gals came out to help me in with him and I suggested due to Merlins size and weight, we'd need a couple more hands. One went in and returned with two guys. One very calmly asked me to move my car seat forward and that he was going in to get my boy. He looked at the other guy and said, "Now, I'm going to lift him out, and when I do, all I need you to do is make sure you support his head for him." and then this hulking guy reached in, took the corners of the blanket Merlin was on, covered my baby, and gathered both ends and lifted him out while the other guy supported my boys head and they gently placed him on the cart to bring him inside. They were professional, caring, and even cried as we were talking about our furry family members and what they mean to us. They answered all questions, gave me time to decide on options, fully explained the procedures and guaranteed my requests would be met and the animals they receive are treated with the utmost respect and dignity. I feel better that the conversation with this person representing Sarasota Pet Crematory took place because I would be forever guilty and heartbroken to think Merlin was treated as they showed me they would. You go ahead and provide service to people who don't actually care about their family members; the rest of us will go elsewhere. read more

The Sarasota Pet Crematory was exceptional in taking care of our adored and beloved Kiki who went to heaven at 16 plus years due to kidney failure (We miss her tremendously). They picked up Kiki from the veterinary and treated her with all the respect and attention deserved for a VIP. We received Kiki's ashes in a very pretty carved wooden box along with the stainless steel ID tag used to identify her during the cremation process, a certificate of cremation, a small bag of wild flower seeds, an Over the Rainbow Poem and a Letter of Comfort. They offer a variety of keepsakes to remember your beloved pets; I bought a pendant to keep some of Kiki's ashes with me, they added some of Kiki's ashes to the pendant. I was very grateful and pleased with how caring they were to my Kiki. Highly recommend their services. read more

My beloved pet pug Minnie passed a week and a half ago and her her remains were sent here and I couldn't be happier with the care and service I received from them during this really hard time. They were very compassionate and took very good and swift care of my precious pup. My 19 year old kitty passed away at home on Saturday morning. I contacted the Sarasota Pet Crematory via their website and they responded within a couple of hours. I was able to bring my kitty to their home office Saturday morning for cremation and they took care of everything with kindness and compassion. They returned his ashes to me yesterday and I spent 1/2 hour talking to Priscilla (the owner) and enjoying the company of her kitty which looked very much like my Tiger. The heartbreak of taking my beloved, amazing, beautiful, precious baby to a place where I would never see him again, was made bearable, because of them. They treated me with such kindness and compassion and respect and understanding.
