We missed our initial appointment for Meatball and had to reschedule until later in the day but Terry stayed open late for us, having to miss his trip to the post office just so he could help us out. Terry is one of the finest gentlemen I have had the opportunity to meet and was more than happy to indulge any request. Upon completing the initial paperwork he offered us a fine selection of urns which we declined as they were mostly too large to justify housing a small hamster's remains. He instead supplied us with a free "temporary urn" to use in the meantime. Terry offered us to stay in his office while the cremation took place or, if we felt more comfortable, to step out while the process took place. We decided to step out for a while and Terry offered us a list of local restaurants to visit while we waited. Upon returning, Terry was just finishing up and beckoned us his office where we were presented with a plastic baggie containing some of Meatball's fur as a special gift so we would always have a tangible piece of our furry friend to cherish forever. He also gave us a professionally notarized letter bearing his signature with a certification of cremation in an envelope complete with the seal of the crematorium. He detailed how he was able to take the bodies of two exhumed dogs who had been best friends and join their ashes in a single urn for a grieving owner who had "burial remorse". After months of declining health and mobility, our oldest Shih Tzu, Scooter - the "best dog EVER" - died abruptly Sunday, October 21st, at the age of 12 years, 7 months, & 7 days. After finding out our cat had terminal cancer last week, I was faced with the daunting, heartbreaking task of gathering information on pet cremation. I called Pine Castle Pet Cremation based on glowing reviews. It was after 5, and I figured I'd be leaving a voicemail on an answering machine. Instead Terry, the owner, answered, and stepped out of a store he was shopping in to give me his undivided attention. He was so kind and answered all my questions with compassion. I said goodbye to my 13.5 year old Goldendoodle and rescue cat that was over 12, this week. Needless to say losing both was more than devastating and heartbreaking. My Tico was 13 and had battled CHF for almost 2 years like a champ. It was on Easter Sunday when he passed peacefully and in the midst of my devastated panic set in as I tried to figure out what to do next. On October 30th we said a sudden goodbye to our first baby, our best friend, the light of our home. Gideon was the happiest and snuggliest boy. The love he gave us and to everyone who ever entered our home or met him was abundant. He had the biggest heart, and the loudest purr or scream when he wanted to be held or a can of cat food opened for him. He was only 6 years old, and we feel cheated because we would do anything for more time with him, but we're thankful he is at peace in heaven. My husband and I cannot thank Terry enough. I was referred to Terry by a client of mine who, like me, wanted to make sure that your pet's body is treated with respect and dignity and that what you get back it's really just his/her ashes. I called the same day I had decided it was time to say goodbye to my sweet boy and Terry was very flexible with the scheduling (I wanted to take my cat to him soon after his euthanasia). Both over the phone as well as in person and during all the process I didn't feel in a rush at all and I was able to do as I wanted which was seeing my boy entering the furnace and then being present as his beloved remains were given back to me. This is not a big pet business where what is important is to cremate as many animals as possible from as many clinics as possible and it doesn't matter if the ashes from one pet are mixed with those of another and where under no circumstance you will be allowed to be present during the whole process if that if what you want. We recently lost one of our cat family who had been with us for many years. We decided on cremation as the best way to preserve our dear pet's memory. Going through a vet was more expensive than we wished to pay and it was going to take a week or more to get the ashes back. Two pet crematoriums required dropping our pet off then returning to pick up the ashes a few days later. We had heard stories questioning if the pet owner was really getting back their pets ashes after cremation and wanted a private cremation. Terry was very sympathetic of our loss. and respectful of our needs. He offered to do the private cremation by appointment. We dropped our pet off at the Pine Castle location and returned about 90 minutes later to pick up the ashes. His price was very reasonable and we were impressed with the dignity with which he handled our pet's remains. The ashes were given to us in a plastic urn placed inside a heavy cardboard box. He had a beautiful collection of custom designed urns but there was no pressure to purchase one and we will be scattering our pet's ashes in a pet memorial garden.. I called him during my lunch break to inquire about his Saturday hours. I believe he said he was open until 6 or 7pm but welcome me to come in, even though, he had a previous customer scheduled. Through the Florida heavy rains, I made it on time. I've ordered some keepsakes in memory of my Phoebe and previous cat, Jossie, whom he's cremated 6 years earlier. Today we woke up after a hard night and realized our 14 year old cockapoo angel, our treasure , our friend , our companion, our four legged son Jak has passed, although we knew he had heart problems and was taking medications we were heart broken to see it happened. I'm not really sure where to begin. I suppose I will start by saying that Terry is an amazing person. We lost our 7 week old kitten, Batty Mae on Saturday but before she passed, we knew her time was coming. We went online to look for pet cremation locations and Pine Castle was an option that had a lot of positive reviews. My gut told me to call and despite being out-of-state for the weekend, Terry answered his phone and walked me through the process as to what to do and how to handle the situation when our kitten would pass. He promised that when he returned today, Monday, Memorial Day, he would make himself available to provide the cremation service for Batty Mae. I had to put my baby Niles to sleep last Thursday. I did some looking for the place that I felt would handle my love with the respect he deserved. I decided on Pine Castle, and I'm glad I did. As the previous reviews have said it's not a fancy place, honestly it was a shock. It's very garage like, and the furnace was right there. I felt sick to my stomach seeing it. Terry the owner said he understood my reservations about the set up And I actually walked out of there with Niles still wrapped in his blanket. However he was so sweet and understanding that I knew, despite of the setup, I would be getting my baby back, not a bunch of other remains along with him. So I told Terry to please take care of my boy and I went ahead with his services. I went and picked him up yesterday, and he put Niles in a beautiful Mahogany box for me, even though I just paid for the temporary urn, because he said Niles deserved better. However, I don't see many reviews about this business from yelp. So I decided to write something about my experience. Terry is very nice and professional. Most of all, he understands people who lost their pet. And respect the way how they believe. I believe that all the creatures need 3 days before the cremation. They need time to find the way where they go, and he understood, so he waited one more day even I got there 2 days after her death. After that all the process was fast and professional. He explained the process, and gave me the certificate of the cremation. You'll need the document for your leasing office of the apartment and insurance company.
