We have 2 abandoned cats we took in that had been outside for a while. It took a while to gain their trust, but when we did, SAC was our first stop. The veterinarians are a father son team. Both are compassionate, thorough, and really knowledgeable. Both cats are on best behavior in their care. The staff is friendly, compassionate, and animal lovers as well. I highly recommend SAC as it's hard to find a kind, knowledgeable, reasonable facility and staff. The facility also carries any needed prescription food for sale as well. read more

My cats have always been pretty healthy, but early this year, my Dixie was having problems with her vision. As a feral kitten, she has not ben the best with handling, and the idea of having to bring her to the vet to get checked out, stressed me as much her. My sister has been seeing Dr. Bessette and his practice since she moved to Bradenton with her dog, Jasper and cat, Lefty. She always raves about him and the office staff. Even my mom and her dog, Lady, goes to this clinic. While the prognosis was not good and her vision is pretty much just shadows, the care of Dr. Bessette and his staff were wonderful. They have both taken care of my baby, Luna. This review is about the amazing staff, Melissa, vet tech and Jennifer, vet tech they attentive, empathic, kind and professional. They listen to your concerns and truly care about the pet, as well as parent. All the vet tech work together as team. Mark and Chris would never function without them, they make the business run smoothly and efficiently. I don't know how many times I've called upset about something happening with Luna and they just patiently listen me, sometimes I have been half crying. They have always manage to calm and reassure me. I am just so fortunate to have found SouthEast Animal Clinic, they have wonderful people working there. My cat loved the vet and the vet tech, and was so well behaved even for a temperature check and fecal check. DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE my dog has attended this vet for many years. 1st thing that kind of made me question this place was that the Vet Mark Bessette put a muzzle on my dog when she never showed any signs of aggression or even tried biting him. The 2nd thing, is when my dog started to get older and she started to show signs of health issues. we would inform Mark, and he would tell us it was allergies/old age and to just give her Benadryl. The Benadryl was not working and we told him that and he just kept saying it was allergies and old age. My dog would snore in her sleep, would continuously lick herself, rarely ate her food, went from always playing to sleeping all day. Mark then gave my dog antibiotics and those weren't helping either. Then one night out of no where my dog starting to throw up white foam and passed away in her sleep. I also brought my cat here to be put down because she was 18 years old, and wasn't going to the bathroom or eating and she was in pain. I got her cremated. when I picked her up they spelt her name wrong. Another thing. I shared this information with my coworker who has also brought her dog to this vet place. My co-worker shared her experience with Mark Bessette, he prescribed her dog too strong of a sleeping medication and her dog never woke up. SO PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE read more

Incredible care! We have been coming here all 5 years we have lived here. We had 5 pets, including one (dog) that was euthanized in 2016. They were compassionate and caring in his end of life care. Another (cat) was attacked by a dog in 2018 and the care was outstanding (he is fully recovered). The other three pets, two yorkies and cat have had routine care. The prices are very reasonable compared to other vets in the area (pricing for teeth extraction for the yorkies and shots for all of them turned up Southeast as one of the lowest). But I would pay a premium to be a patient here! I can't imagine going anywhere else for my pets! read more

I can't say Enough good things about Our dogs Doctor. My big dog had a hotspot which I didn't know what it was. I panicked I messaged the office at 7:00 pm last night explaining my situation. The office opens at 8:00 am. He called me at 7:40am to help get me in ASAP. Which I'm so grateful. I was worried it was a spider bite but he assured me it was only a hotspot. Best veterinarian you can ever find. He got my dog in quickly so I can go to work. I'm so happy I found them. They take amazing care of my 2 dogs. This one is especially crazy and skittish. A trained and lovable two year old dog has become a member of our household and has actually taken a seat on the Board of Directors - even perfectly behaved dogs change the at home dynamic. Because his previous owner had died we had no records and needed a complete check-up and the various required shots. We got an appointment with-in one day and were taken immediately on arrival. Dr. Mark Bessette and staff were friendly and professional. The charges were competitive and as stated on their website; "our products are priced competitively at or below the prices offered online", was exactly true. A costly monthly medication was the same price as a popular on-line pet site. A few days later we had an appointment with Amanda their on-site groomer and she did a great job too. Bogey was groomed exactly as we discussed and looked even more adorable - although that didn't seem possible. We have limited experience here but so far couldn't be more pleased. read more

We did shots, blood test, checked ears, checked butt and also clipped nails. I think we were out of there in 30 minutes - which my dog was thankful for ! All in all, I think he did a good job. We took one dog there for a dental procedure and check up and another for a nail trim. Having 3 dogs, we have seen a lot of vets over the years. Bessette took the time to explain results for a blood test to me, so that I understood them. He also does electronic record keeping. Charges were average for the area.
