At 9 months pregnant, I wasn't all that excited to capture my glowing pregnancy glory...including the 50 pound weight gain. But it had to be done and I knew that I needed to find a photgrapher who could help me look as good as a pregnant Demi Moore or Heidi Klum. OK, maybe not, but at least they could try. I found Sarina through yelp and after looking through her website and blog, I was sold. Her body of work speaks for itself and she clearly has a good eye for taking beautiful shots. I contacted her through her website and she responded the same day. I could tell right away just how professional and easy she would be to work with, so I booked her immediately. We decided to take pictures in the Orange Circle since I love that area and thought it would be cool and different, especially for a maternity shoot. Sarina showed up on time and we all felt comfortable with her right away. We took a ton of shots, from sitting in the park bench to interesting brick alleys and even the train depot. When something caught Sarina's eye, she went for it, and most of our best pics are from her suggestions. My 3 year old actually paid attention to Sarina and listened to her prompts, which was completely unexpected. He even went a little Zoolander during the shoot and now has the Blue Steel nailed. She made me feel like a pregnant model and I worked it (or waddled it) as best as I could. Even my husband, who prefers to be behind the camera, had a good time. I am writing this review from a makeup artist/hair stylist point of view because I think it's important to share how vendors work together professionally because having a good solid team of vendors will really help to make a client's event stressfree, fun, and relaxed. I've worked with Sarina on numerous accounts and for all occasions. This review will be reflective of the various type of events that we have been able to work together. For weddings: Sarina has always been prompt and professional with the clients. A good photographer is defined as a photographer that "isn't there." On your wedding day you don't want a photographer constantly stopping you and posing you. This often translates into unrealistic looking photos and emotions. The photographers job is to capture the moment and in essence deliver amazing images without getting in the way. Sarina does just this. She works with the environment and shoots from all angels without asking eveyrone to get out of the room or moving things constantly just to get the right shot. An experienced photographer goes with the flow of the day and shoots. It's effortless for the bride and anyone else involved n such a big day. As a makeup artist I really appreciate this aspect of her shooting style and professionalism. She is attentive and gets what she needs and gets the job done. For boudoir: Sarina and I've recently began working together a handful of times to provide our bridal clients with boudoir images (http://news.susiechhuor.com/boudoir/). Every time we've worked together Sarina always arrives early for set up and testing. She physically moves furniture to her liking to get the deliver the right shots for the clients and ensure that the clients are at their most comfortable. This is especially important when shooting boudoir because these sessions are soooo incredibly intimate and often times intimidating that having the right group of makeup stylist/photographer is key. Sarina definitely delivers quality. I remember one time we were doing a shoot, which was only suppose to be 1 hour for our client, but Sarina ended up spending an addition 30-45 minutes to shoot the client. When I asked her why she did this or why it took so long, Sarina replied, "I just want to make sure that she gets a lot of images to choose from and that she's happy." I think this speaks volume. Sarina didn't stop shooting just because the timer went off, but until she felt she had enough images for the client to be satisfied, but most important her personal satisfaction to give her clients amazing options for their image selections. Lastly, in terms of image delivery. Sarina's image presentations has always been top notch, offering budget friendly albums/mini wallet albums to gorgeous full hard cover albums for the clients and for myself to use to show my work in. I highly recommend Sarina for her wedding work as well as her boudoir work. I'm really not a fan of taking hundreds of photos, and my husband is 100 times less of a fan. It says a lot when you have someone in mind to do photography for you, and you stalk them for 6 years to make sure you have an opportunity to work with them. This was the case for me and Sarina Love Photography. In 2009, we were planning our wedding here in OC and I was lucky enough to stumble upon Sarina's website. I emailed her right away since her style was exactly what I was looking for when imagining our wedding photos. Unfortunately, she was booked for our date, but the best thing about her is that she is so helpful and accommodating, that she emailed me a list of ten other photographers that she knew or had worked with and we were able to find the perfect photographer for our engagement shoot and wedding. I never forgot how generous she was to take the time to do that. Fast-forward to this past December. I was 7 months pregnant then and eager to do a maternity shoot, and since our wedding photog is focusing on his family now and not doing shoots, I totally had to reach out to Sarina. She was available in January, and we were sooooooo lucky to get to work with her finally. First, it was crazy for us around the holidays to set up logistics, but she was open to finding a time and date to meet with us. Then she was willing to drive all the way to the Coto de Caza are for our shoot. Then, it rained on our originally planned date, but she was super flexible and was able to change it to the following Saturday, which is not easy with a busy photographer who usually has weddings or e-shoots on the weekends. Her and her fiance came down to meet us, and my husband and I loved meeting them and enjoyed every minute taking the photos. I actually think my husband had more fun than I did, which is unusual, since it's rare for the guys to get that into it! I am more than pleased with how fast it all happened, how quickly we got the digital files from Sarina, and with the quality of the photos. We were able to frame a lot of them for our baby shower and we received so much good feedback. They were all so perfect in capturing how exciting this time is for us. We really cannot wait to have our first child, and this baby girl is such a blessing to us. The joy Sarina was able to pull out of us during this shoot is a testament to how amazing she is at her craft. I am so excited to have this baby join our family and then have her meet Sarina during our newborn shoot!!! Sarina is one of the most friendly, fun, and joyous people I've ever met. Even her voice is adorable! Not only that, but she is super professional, helpful, and a pleasure to work with. She will go out of her way for her clients to fulfill their vision, and for a vendor, that's exactly what you need. Sarina is truly AMAZING. She shot my maternity photos and then as a birthday gift for my husband did a boudoir session for me. Needless to say I was very insecure with my body one year after having a baby but Sarina's warm, easy going attitude made it so much fun and by the end I really felt like one hot mama! This review is for a boudoir session! I decided to do a boudoir shoot as a gift for my fiance on our wedding day, after searching "good groom's gifts" on Pinterest, haha. I found Sarina on Yelp, and based purely on the consistent 5-star reviews, I knew I didn't want to go anywhere else! Working with Sarina exceeded my expectations. Her studio is beautiful and so comfy, she's definitely got a great eye for design! Hannah did my hair and make up and she was amazing! Even better than the MUA/Hair stylists I hired for my wedding day (which I now regret). Not only is Sarina REALLY sweet and friendly, she's also patient and extremely honest. She was great at coaching and giving directions (this is coming from someone who's extremely uncomfortable in front of a camera, now add in being half naked and having to act sensual, ha!). Sarina will let you know if a pose looks funny, and being a lady herself she is very aware of what we like and don't like (ahem ahem, rolls). She also showed me some shots throughout the shoot, which was very helpful - I was able to see what poses worked and what didn't, what made my tummy look smaller or what made me look chubby. Plus, it doesn't hurt to get a confidence boost when you see the good ones! There's only a month until my wedding, and with Sarina being out of town for a week this month, we knew we'd be crunched for time. Sarina has been an absolute joy to work with from the moment we contacted her to the wedding day and beyond. The easiest decision of our whole wedding process was booking Sarina, and we are so glad we did. She has a very clear sense of the wedding industry.
