Al and his crew installed a shower glass door and a glass shelf in a shower niche in a brand new bathroom. The materials they use are nice, the owner, Elmedin Al Miljevic, is NOT. Two main issues happed: 1. The glass door leaked water all over the floor from the place where the doors meet and between the floor and the door. Al blamed the contractor for installing the floor was a curbless shower incorrectly, but still sent his crew to change the clear strips to larger ones. The water issue was fixed. It turns out, there was nothing wrong with the floor in a first place. 2. You would think that installing a small glass shelf is something they can do properly. After they left, I noticed how crooked the shelf looks and sure enough, the leveler shows it and the ruler showed that it was installed crooked. There is a 0.25 inches difference between left and right! See pictures. After I sent pictures to Al asking him to address the issue, he stopped responding to my calls, text or email. He understands that he drilled into tile and covering it up would be impossible. I think he is EXTREMELY UNProfessional and does not care about his customers after cashing the check! It would cost him nothing to send somebody to look at the problem, refund me $100 for a shelf or apologize, but he chose to IGNORE his customer. Be aware! read more

Excellent all around! We recently renovated two bathrooms. While we used a GC, I like design and sourcing, so was in charge of all purchases of finish product. I thus priced out shower glass. Sarno Glass and Mirror had the fastest communication, best reviews, and lowest price, so was the clear winner. The GC then told me custom glass was not considered a finish product, so we could use his supplier if I wanted. His came in at 80% higher and an estimated one week longer. We went with Sarno. Sarno estimated 3-4 weeks from templating to installation. Then, they texted 2 weeks and 2 days after measuring asking if it was OK to install it that day! They were courteous and efficient for both the template and the install. It is a fabulous end product. Great pricing, great service, great product, and speedy. Hands down the best! El and his team were a pleasure to work with from the start of the project to its completion. I had sent El an email to for a quote/estimate within a day he was able to come out, take measurements and send me a detailed proposal. He is very responsive over the phone, email or text and will answer all your questions - bonus he is super polite and courteous while being direct and fair. His brother and two guys came out for the install, same great personable service. They took their shoes off, brought they're own trash bags and cleaned up after themselves. One of the guys even set up the saw outside to not leave metal residue inside the home. Install was done before I knew it! With my newly remodeled bathroom, a glass shower door and wall seemed to be a nice option. I priced out a number of installers and was somewhat shocked by the cost for my tiny shower. It is glass after all - not stone (or gold!). After calling around I finally hit upon Sarno Glass. The phone was answered by the owner himself and he came out to give me a quote - a fancy salesperson was not sent. Yeah, OK, he had a bit of a quirky personality but nothing like the nuts from the glass places in the South End. For almost half the price of the three other places I contacted, I got my shower. I had a shower door that needed to be installed in a larger than typical shower door space and also wanted a taller height to get under the "barn door" (Cambridge bypass door) bar on top. I also needed a large mirror installed to the ceiling that would accommodate cut outs for a vanity light, switch and go all the way to the ceiling. Back in the misty eyed youthful days as we transitioned out of milk crate and futon furniture into adult furnishings my not-yet-wife wandered into a high-end Cambridge furniture store and purchased an insane hardwood dining room table. If you recall the Gomer Bolstrood furniture fetish described in Stephenson's "Cryptonomicon" novel you'll understand just how beautiful and intimidating this piece is and the covetous emotions it can bring out in family and friends. Many years later in 2014 the wife dropped hints suggesting that if Santa happened to have a 42x72in piece of glass in his sleigh she'd love to have it sitting on top and protecting our Fancy Yuppie Table That Does Not Get Used. John was fantastic to work with via phone and email. He was very honest & straightforward and spent a little time trying to talk me out of the purchase or at least prep me for disappointment -- in his experience many tables are not actually level enough across the top surface to support a glass layer without being wobbly. After running a 3ft level across all parts of the table I went through with the order. Got the tempered & polished glass maybe ~4-5 days later. John sent out one of his guys and he took a lot of time and care in unpacking, cleaning and setting the table top. Sure enough our table has a tiny upwards curve in the middle so the glass does not sit 100% flat but it's hard to see and there is no wobble. No worries. Of course I MESSED UP measuring the table and the glass is a tiny bit too large and overhangs the table by about an 1/8th inch on all four sides. I managed to lie with a straight face to my wife and told her "It's supposed to be that way, there needs to be a bit of an overhang to protect the full surface ..." She bought it. I researched hard to find a glass company with a good reputation. Thanks to my fellow yelpers I called Sarno glass. I was able to work directly with the owner John who was very good about communication (email/text/phone). When he came to measure for the glass I could not have felt better about my decision to invite him into our home. He is a very warm individual and for sure an honest person. He has a high energy which I'm sure is why he has been in business so long. Sarno installed a, floor to ceiling custom shower enclosure built for steam.. John provided a quick quote before coming for a measurement and then helped brainstorm ideas and wasn't concerned about nickeling us for slight hardware changes. The install team did a great job and the functionality has been flawless. Their pricing was right in line with the four different quotes I received. Also, I had asked for a quote on shower glass for my other bathroom and he advised against it because the pitch of the threshold was a little off. I'm sure another company would have been happy to take our money but he convinced me that we would not be happy with the result.
