Customer beware! I ordered a shower door from Boston Glass. They came and installed. Looked beautiful. Then the guy said that they cracked a glass tile that I just had installed a week ago. He assured me the company would make it right. Just received a note from the company. They cited a clause in the docusign agreement they gave you sign when you hire them. It says "On extremely rare occasions, tile and stone can chip or crack while we drill to install our anchors. Boston Glass Group is not responsible for any costs associated with this. We will remove the pieces necessary and continue installation once the repair is completed at no additional cost. We deal with a broken tile about once every 250 showers. We cannot assume liability for any fee's charged by Atristic Tile for their portion of the process" So you pay them to install the glass. They break your stuff. They don't repair. Awful! Untrustworthy. Do not engage. read more

We had to replace a small (15" x 15") broken pane of glass in our media cabinet. I brought the mate of the broken piece to Boston Glass. They carefully measured the mate and also discussed they type of glass I should use as the replacement. The resulting glass fit perfectly and I feel safer as it is tempered glass. I was impressed that Boston Glass handled my small job so professionally. If I need something larger, like shower doors, I will definitely use them again. read more

I had a crack in my window's glass and Boston Glass Group gave me a very reasonable estimate for replacing the glass. The estimate was much cheaper than replacing the entire window. I told them that my old window has low-E glass and they told me they would do their best to match it. I took out my window sash and dropped it off at Boston Glass. A week later, I picked up my window sash and it looked great. The tint in the low-E glass was slightly lighter than my old one and it's not really noticeable. I am very happy with their work and their price. read more

I had 2 bathroom remodeled and I hired Boston Glass Group to design and install the glass doors. After spending thousands of dollars on the most expensive glass, it was very disappointing to see how mediocre the work came out. I reached out to Boston Glass Group multiple times and Jarrod kept sending the same unqualified employee to fix the job After so many attempts to get the problem fixed., I gave up. In the near future I will need to replace thousands of dollars once again to replace the one door that was cut way too small. There is a lot of water seepage that is damaging my new bathroom floors. I also had some custom mirrors made. That was also a disaster. They came by the house to take the measurements twice and they still got it wrong. During the installation, Boston glass employee scrapped my wall to make the mirror fit. I had to pay a painter/carpenter to fix my wall. I had my whole home remodeled and dealt with different contractors. Boston Glass Group was the worded! I do not recommend this glass company at all. read more

Over the past six or seven years, we have had to replace a number of windows where the seal had broken and the gas had escaped which resulted in condensation forming inside the window. I used a number of other vendors and found the entire experience painful either from both a quality of workmanship and client service perspective. Tom was hired to install shower partition glass wall in our bathroom with chrome hinges and He was pleasure to deal with, the glass was installed on time, unfortunately there was a small manufacturers defect in the glass (small blemish in the surface, which frankly I wouldn't have noticed). Tom said that it's not acceptable, took the glass off and ordered replacement with the "priority delivery". They came in a timely manner and did a very professional install. Boston Glass Group is also reasonably priced. I live in an old Boston South End brownstone on Appleton Street that is governed by the Boston Historical Society. Needless to say, these guys had to meet certain "historical guidelines". I am very disappointed with the job they did on my shower. They cracked my tile and my marble threshold which I had to have repaired at my own expense. The fixed glass panel is neither aligned with the tile nor with the glass door. I am going to have to have this all redone. $2000 down the drain. read more

I first contacted Boston Glass Group (BGG) about 2 years ago when my wife and I started thinking about doing a full bathroom remodel. I spoke with Tom a few times between then and the start of construction and he told me the same thing -- "Let us know when your tile guy finishes the shower area and I will send someone out to measure ASAP." And that is exactly how it happened. I called Tom the day they finished tile work and he sent CJ out to measure the next day. I was impressed with CJ's process, precision and decisions where the glass should rest, and I fully trusted his judgment with details, like the kind of glass, clips, etc. As a matter of fact, I was so impressed that I asked if CJ could install, and the installation process was a smooth continuation of all my previous interactions with BGG. I worked with a number of tradespeople to complete our bathroom renovation and, while I had good experiences with many, the service provided by BGG was 5-star. Really -- all the glass aligns precisely and the installation has no flaws (like too much silicone being used). My only complaint is not really a complaint, but CJ was early for the install but he waited patiently for me to arrive. I would highly recommend Boston Glass Group for shower glass installation. And BGC will be my only call when I next need any glass work done. Polite, professional, friendly service is very nice, and when you add High Quality Installation, it is like a cherry on top! While BGG was not the "bottom line lowest" estimate (lots of different Options were offered with significant price implications by others), I feel like it was the best value. Respectful of your time and very skilled at their craft -- these are the two ways I would describe Tom and his two team members, CJ and Mike. I had Boston Glass work on the glass shower enclosures for my two bathrooms. Tom was the first person I had called, and I liked his sensible approach to everything. He educated me on the different options I had (clear vs starphire, and glass thickness). He also told me that the stain resistant coating is a waste of money, and I appreciate the honesty. He never tried to upsell me and he never made me worry that something would go wrong. While I spoke to four other glass companies, in the end I chose Boston Glass because Tom was the most flexible on frameless enclosure layout design, the fastest by at least a week compared to competitors, and his rates were reasonable. Honestly, I can't believe what some companies think they can get away with in this business - either in terms of price or how long they need to install it. Don't they understand that the glass is usually the last thing to do on the renovation project, and it's painful to wait 4 weeks just to get glass installed? Boston Glass also did a super cool thing with my master bath shower - they did a mitre corner, which makes the glass look almost seamless. And they managed to line the glass up to my grout line, which is a pretty remarkable feat -- looks so clean. Tom is also from Bentley, and I believe CJ and Mike are from local schools too (Wentworth and Northeastern?). So it's always good to support an employer who works with local college grads, which is a rare find in the construction business. But don't take my word for it. AMAZING! We had shower panels placed in our bathroom we're remodeling. We called several companies in the area and they never got back to us or couldn't figure out what we were requesting. That was not the case with BGC. They new immediately what type of shower panels we wanted and had them installed within a few weeks of our initial call to them. Tom came by and made an adjustment to the hinge that pretty much resolved the problem, but decided to go back to his shop to pick up some additional materials that might improve the results. We've had two jobs done by BGG now-- replacement of a standard double-hung window and a small awning casement window upstairs this summer, and then four double-hung windows a few months later. Both times the installation crew showed up within 30 minutes of the promised time span, both times the job cost exactly what we were quoted, and both times we were very pleased with the work and the replacement windows. The employees are friendly and will gladly explain technical details and provide free "consultative advice" when asked-- one of the high points of the first installation was when we assumed we needed to pay them to resize two Andersen-looking screens we found in our basement to fit a pair of unscreened Andersen windows upstairs, but CJ (the team lead on both of our jobs) very helpfully pointed out that the screens on THIS pair of Andersen windows fit OUTSIDE the window, not inside... (i.e. problem solved, for free!) Two minor gripes: (1) scheduling with BGG requires a bit of effort: a protracted game of email and phone tag for both the quote and the installation, plus a couple of weeks of waiting between the two steps, and (2) although they were very courteous and thoughtful in protecting our floors and walls against any damage from the removal/installation process, some of the window trim and apron got a bit nicked up both times and need minor paint touchup. But overall we are really happy with BGG's work, and I am sure we'll be using them again next time we need any window work done. read more

Tom is fabulous! I am a Realtor in Newton and surrounding towns and have seen the best and the worst of shower doors etc. I went out on a limb and hired Tom based on yelp reviews for my own home. I am so sick of the premium tacked onto "Newton" prices. Tom arrived at the appointment on time and prepared. He measured told me options of 3/8 vs. 1/2 inch glass, clear vs. greenish tint etc. I had an email early evening with the quote. I placed my order and he told me it would take 10 days! Only 10 days? My other quoties were more money and 6 weeks lead time. Tom did not want a deposit....I told hom he was nuts.... The glass was installed in 9 days and it looks great. I also had Tom make screens for some windows and his screens are better than the Marvin screens. I just cannot say enough good things about Tom. Needed to replace the large plate glass window in our front door on Saturday of the long holiday weekend (after some drunken idiot threw a traffic cone through it in the wee hours, but that's another story). Googled "replace window glass" and got very lucky that Boston Glass popped up. Owner Tom came out Saturday morning, gave us a reasonable estimate - had the window fixed in a few hours and the man cleaned up. The new window looked great, you would never know! Over a long holiday weekend, and he stuck to his estimate. Boston Glass Group has done excellent work for us on 4 projects over the last few weeks: 1) Replaced the insulated glass in 5 large, casement windows where the old glass had a broken seal and were steamed up - most window people we spoke with said this couldn't be done and that we'd have to order brand new windows and throw away the existing ones 2) Removing an old stained glass window and installing a new, custom-ordered stained glass window that we commissioned from an artist - this obviously was a very delicate project, since the window was one of a kind 3) Replacing ropes and making adjustments to 5 windows 4) Reglazing 8 windows - this involved removing 16 window panes (8 double hung windows), reglazing and reinstalling, this was all completed during the same day I highly recommend working with Tom - he's professional, reasonably priced, punctual and works very quickly. read more
