Came here on Saturday for my first time golfing on a course that wasn't a pitch & putt. The people were kind and the course was nice. The duo we got grouped up with was so incredibly kind and really made the experience so great. The holes ranged in length which was great to switch it up. This place is a local gem. Small, but accessible for all skill levels. Well maintained. I took lessons with Scott Guild. My son also took lessons here. Instructors are skilled at what they do. They are positive, professional, and encouraging. I was worried about doing lessons since I'm very new. Scott made me feel very welcome and taught me so much. I will be sure to do more lessons and my son will as well. read more

A decent 9 hole course. The course on the overall was in pretty good shape. The only reason for a 3 not 4 stars is that the course plays more like a 4 hole and a separate 5 hole course... all that said it's a fair price for a decent condition quick 9 course. read more

It's hard not to have a good day golfing even if you aren't playing great but this experience was horrid. Reason for 1 star review is because we had a 7:10 am tee time and the guy started mowing the lawn at hole 1 as we started hole 1. He followed us literally right in our tails or in front of us through hole 4 where a second lawnmower man chilled with us on hole 5 and did not follow us. The first lawnmower guy literally almost ran me over because I played a second ball as we were in no rush waiting for people ahead of us to get proper space. We were unable to play with him starting and stopping the engine/ following us up and down: and being disrespectful. Never will go here again because of the lack of common sense read more

I love this par 3 course for so many reasons. The first being that I feel I have learned how to play golf here the way I learned to ski at a smaller mountain. It is course that I find beautiful but it isn't so over whelming as a new golfer. Second, the staff is friendly and cares that you enjoy your time on the course. Third, I took some group lessons from one of the pros a few summers ago. It was a great group and the instructor was very patient and knowledgeable. Lastly, I loved the dog that was with him. All and All a great place to learn and to fall in love with the game. read more

Had a disheartening experience at Sassamon today. Our group called over a week in advanced to schedule a tee time, but the course messed up and did not have record of the reservation when we arrived. The man in the clubhouse, Scott, suggested that we wait by the first tee box so they could squeeze us in. There was a window where they could have fit us in after 45 minutes of waiting, but refused to let us go as a group of 2 because they were so busy that day. Scott made this suggestion and wasted our time knowing he wasn't going to let us play. After returning to the clubhouse, we heard Scott talking trash about our group to other customers, calling us the "angry men". When asked if he was talking about us, he refused to take ownership of his mistakes nor his arrogance. Very cocky man with little character. read more

Me and three of my other friends when to this location and expected to have a nice time and play a full nine hole game. We were playing a good game and were half way through when the park ranger came up to us and started accusing us that we can't use three carts despite being given this option at the front desk. She held us up for about 15 minutes until she eventually threatened to take the cart back and said we would have to leave it there, and it wasn't until I reasonable after for a refund that she stormed off and finally left us alone. All in all They have no respect for customers and are quick to blame them for their own mistakes. read more

Great little course, like two courses in one: a traditional links 1-3, and typical New England 4-8, back up the hill for a brutal 9th links dog keg right... you don't gonna make it over the rough! Been coming here since 2002. Cart makes sense. Plenty of parking and real nice staff. Reasonably priced and it was the old dump where they put some back fill from the big dig. A good take. read more

I love this course - as a new golfer it's very friendly and accommodating. There is a nice mix of short and long holes.

I hadn't played Sassamon in quite a few years but was pleasantly surprised when a buddy and I went last week. It's not a 5 star course - but for the value it's pretty close. $25 weekday fee for 9 holes. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were in very good condition for a town owned course (much better than I remember). To get out and play 9 holes (or go around twice for 18), Sassamon is a good course. read more

Overall, a nice little 9hole course, especially for a muni! It's kept in great condition, and it's somewhat hidden, which makes it have a much more remote and exclusive feel to it. The price is a bit steep for a 9 hole, but only by a few dollars. It seems worth it though for the tranquility and relative peace and quiet you enjoy compared to most area 9 hole courses. The condition of the course is always pretty solid. They do a nice job maintaining and tending to this course, and I have never seen it in disrepair. They also have new hole signs, which gives it an even more professional look. The layout is pretty nice for a course like this. You have some sweeping, wide open holes, as well as some tight, woodsy-type holes. The variation is quite nice, and you feel you're playing on different courses as you meander peacefully through the woods. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Their pro-shop is very spartan and minimal, however their service and friendliness make up for that, at least to me! read more

This place is in real good shape for a city-run course. It's pretty short and quick, but definitely a fun 9 to play on a late afternoon after work before it gets dark. Not the most difficult course you'll play, but some tight fairways keep things interesting. Play can be a little slow in the beginning, but eventually spreads out most of the time. Would definitely recommend for a casual 9. read more

This course is a short little nine hole spot built on what used to be the Natick landfill. Despite that, you'd never know it. This greens run fast and the fairways are well maintained. A good value for the money. The clubhouse for this course is a old trailer converted to look better with cheap tables and a crappy coffee machine. But that doesn't matter, you're here to golf. A wonderful little local 9 holer. It is short and fairly straight-foward, but still plays well. Don't expect to be forced to shape shots unless you're hitting from the rough. Holes 1-3 and 9 are reminiscent of a Links-style course, with 2 and especially 9 rewarding players who take a risk off the tee. The course is generally in good condition overall, but what makes it stand out in my mind is that the greens always seem to be great. They're smooth, true, and surprisingly receptive, so don't be surprised if you find you have to dial back the spin a little bit. read more

I have been golfing here my whole life. Always been a great municipal Little nine hole golf course with friendly management. Kurt is awesome but the new manager in the pro shop this year is an absolute jerk. Extremely rude, and always looking to pack up and leave early. I know this to be true because when he is working he will not pick up the phone to except teetimes and is always rushing people off the property. As a municipal golf course I would imagine that in order for it to be profitable people need to be playing. This guy is bad for business and has a very bad attitude while greeting the customer. read more

Showed up for my single tee time - was told I would be forced to play with 3 other people even amid a pandemic. Also the pro in the pro shop was rude and not wearing a mask and got within a foot of me. Asked to be refunded as I didn't want to wait an extra hour on my one day off to play with 3 other people and risk getting infected and was told I wouldn't be allowed a refund. Course looks like it's in rough shape and is on a dump so not too concerned about missing a round here - would avoid 100% read more

This course is a joke! I had a tee time for a foursome at 2pm. I asked to play 18 and they said play 9 and come back to pay for the other 9 after your done. When we finished the first 9 the starter told us to grab a drink, pay for the other 9 and we could play through. We paid went back to the starter and had to wait behind 2-3 sums and a foursome. What a joke. The course has 5 par 3's, 2 par 4's and 1 par 5. It's short, poorly run, but in great shape. I will NEVER be going back. It's crazy the rules they make you play by and not worth it!! If I need to work on my short game ill go to the range on the other side of Natick!!!!! read more

Fantastic 9-hole course. I played twilight a lot in 2013 because of the convenience and price, and this year decided to immediately buy a season's membership. The course is always in outstanding condition; greens are great, fairways are lush, and tee boxes are quality. You can tell that the maintenance staff takes pride in it. Yesterday one of the lead maintenance guys took a second to get off the mower, and personally thank me for respecting the course, after he saw me replace a divot that wasn't mine. He handed me a ProV1x he found on the course - just a genuine guy who you can tell took pride in the course's conditions. The manager, pro's, and staff are very friendly, rates are reasonable, and for a par 32/9 hole course, its got a TON of character. Don't hit right! The absolute worse course in the US. Pair adults 28+ year olds up with 10 and 7 year olds and act like that's okay. Needless to say I will never be going back to this joke of an establishment. read more

This is a fun 9-holer and is in nice shape. Short but not easy, a good challenge. I'll go over in the middle of the day when it is quiet.

A great course to work on different parts of your game, a good short game is a must. While the average golfer is not going to be a scratch golfer the course has, long,short and medium holes. It is always in good shape. The first few holes have a links style feel while the rest have a "farm" land lay out feel or "New England" lay out. A nice course that will challenge you but not make you suffer during your round, not easy not difficult. Great course if you want to fine tune your game. read more

Fun course to play with a really great staff. The first three and number nine are links style, if you slice on them wave bye bye to your ball. The remaining five holes are along woods and an apple orchard, with a small pond on one of the par threes ( there are 5 par three, 2 par four, and 1 par five). Course has really came into form of late. Best condition I have ever seen it in, and maintained better than most courses in the area. Dont let the size fool you this course WILL continuously test your accuracy as well as short game. Staffing was good and make it an easy option for walk on play. Hidden gem in Natick. good condition, greens putt well. kind of short, but a fairly easy walker except for the walk from one of the greens to one of the tees... I want say the walk from 8 to 9, but I could be wrong...
