They had everything ready for Dr. Frimmel. All went as scheduled, no one seemed rushed, and all were very knowledgeable. The facility is beautiful, new and very clean. I have been dealing with a chronic issue that continues to worsen, and she always takes me seriously and does not brush me off, which I genuinely appreciate. I have been in her office in tears, ready to give up and she can always reassure me and bring me back to earth. She never hesitates to make a referral to a specialist, which means a lot. I have been to some primaries who try to know everything and they tend to have you going in circles for a while. I also appreciate that if I mention wanting a specific test done, she doesn't get upset and is more than willing to help me get it done. I recently had a health emergency for which a trip to the emergency room resulted in nothing. No care, no prescription, no relief, no diagnosis and inadequate testing. I went to see Dr. Bakus as a walk in the next day and was diagnosed and treated within hours despite it being a holiday weekend. She has stayed on top of the situation. I appreciate the whole spectrum of medicine practiced from modern, to Eastern and in between. Dr. Bakus is thorough, caring and empathetic. Her staff is equally wonderful. Any referral I've asked for, she has told me I need to figure that out with my insurance, myself. She breaks everything possible into multiple visits so that billing happens as much as possible. For my last appointment, I had a urinalysis that she admitted she never reviewed, even though it was a severe issue that needed immediate care. I had to make a new appointment a week later to review those results because I still wasn't feeling well. When I told her it was unacceptable that she never reviewed my results, she said "it's Monday" and "you're not my only patient", I said it's been a week and that's a terrible way to treat a patient. She back tracked immediately and said she did review my results and never followed up because she didn't need to. She then began being very condescending to me and even told me she doesn't need to mother me or check back in (and denied telling me to call her if I needed a medication change, as my infection was a tricky one to treat). I again, told her this is very condescending as I was just following exactly what she told me to do. She actually hung up on me during this telehealth video call. She is truly the only PCP that was available when I moved here and it is clear why. The office itself is so gross and creepy. She's cared a lot more about my outfits I wore to my appointments, than my family's colorful cancer history! This was my final straw after her lack of care for 2 years, so this is probably a blessing in disguise for me!

I will not be taken advantage of and will always stand up for myself and the red flags this place was waving did not fly with me. 1) They want you to sign a document stating that they can charge you a day before a visit (they say it is for telehealth only but the "legal document" does not specify telehealth). 2) Go to pay your copay $1, but surprise there is a $10 minimum charge and I never carry cash. Not anywhere in their signage or documents does it go over a minimum. The old Indian man at the front office tried to tell me I can't go anywhere like a store or restaurant and pay less than $10....WRONG!! I already tried to leave the office because they couldn't conduct business properly and as I'm walking out they called me back to the desk and try to explain more, as I'm saying that they can not charge me more than the $1 copay the office man said that I would not be a good fit for the office...DUH!!! I was already on my way out the door. 3) The office is disgusting, I have to unfortunately go where my insurance is covered and I made a poor choice going here. I can't believe this place is still in business. It's so unfortunate for those who don't have access to better care than this. The man at the front desk looked at us when we walked in, I provided my mother's name, and he handed me a clipboard without saying a single word. Not exactly a warm or helpful start. As I went through the paperwork, the first page stated that only two people are allowed to go back to the exam room. I had my father with me as well -- he also has Alzheimer's -- so leaving him alone in the waiting room was not an option. I went back to the desk and explained the situation, expecting some understanding from a neurology office that routinely works with patients who have cognitive impairments. Instead, I was told "sorry, office rules" with no flexibility or attempt to find a solution. Anyone who works with Alzheimer's patients should understand how unsafe it is to leave someone unsupervised, especially in an unfamiliar setting. Since they refused to make an exception, we had no choice but to leave -- after waiting half a year for this appointment. This office showed zero compassion, zero accommodation, and zero awareness of the needs of the very patients they claim to specialize in. I cannot recommend them.
