I really wanted to like this place. I hadn't had my nails done in several years so I relied on yelp to pick this salon. They looked great when I left. When I got home I noticed the edges were jagged and not filed well. Then within one day they started breaking. I am honestly confused about all of the great reviews associated with this place. I've been getting my nails done consistently for the past year and recently moved to the area and needed to try a new place. They quoted me $30 for a gel manicure over the phone however I was charged $35 upon checkout. I figured oh well, it's $5 what can I do? But honestly it was not worth TEN. My nails have been painted 3 days and are already busted chipping and peeling which has NEVER happened with gel. Not sure which lady I had but her only comment to me the entire time was "wherever you went before put way too many gel coats on." That's it. No hello, goodbye, thank you, nothing. She asked how many coats I usually got and I said 4 and she said that was too many, then proceeded to PUT FOUR on my nails!!! She also swatted my hand because apparently I needed to re-insert my hand twice into the lamp (how was I supposed to automatically know that?) when I asked if she could re-file a single nail because it was jagged, I was greeted with a sigh and an eye roll. I'm not one to be nit-picky about a manicure, but when it's terrible to begin with, then I get attitude, it's hard not to be! read more

Sassy Nails is a lovely place with a friendly staff. They are very accommodating. If you need a special time or day, call and ask ! If they can arrange it for you, they will. Lisa does an incredible job. The manicure and pedicure last longer than anywhere else. The massage chairs are great too.

Stopped in this evening for a pedicure. This will be my new go-to place for pedis. The shop is clean and comfortable, with good ventilation (very important). TV is on but not blaring. They have a great selection of polishes, arranged well so it's easy to choose a color. In fact, I brought my own but chose one of theirs instead. The owner and her daughter run the place. Both are gentle on the feet while still giving a good leg massage. My only gripe--and it's very small--is the scent of the lotion they use. It's just awful, and I can't get rid of it. I'm still smelling it now. But my piggies are beautiful! Tip: They take walk-ins but I'd recommend calling ahead. With only two of them, it could get backed up pretty easily. read more

I had an hour free, and really wanted a pedicure. I called with no notice and they moved heaven and earth to make it happen for me. I was so grateful, but when I arrived I started asking for a manicure and eye brow waxing, the nerve. Well, it was no problem. They accommodated my every request, and I felt great. Nice atmosphere, room to move around, and I was able to get a little pampering in before my weekend started. Prices are very competitive, and every one was so nice. You should try this place! This place was an unexpected treasure for spur of the moment girly plans on a Saturday afternoon. We walked in and immediately got gold star treatment. They did amazing mani-pedis, acrylic tips, gel colors, and cute little painted designs on our nails. This is definitely my favorite nail spa ever! read more

I love coming here! I have had my nails done at MANY places but Lisa gives the BEST gel manicures. They last past the two weeks supposed to! She is great at waxing eyebrows as well. It's quiet and relaxing here. I would suggest this place to anyone. read more

I recently moved to Monrovia and was looking forward to trying out the nail salon nearby, hoping it could be my new go-to spot. A close friend and I went this afternoon and were disappointed by our experience. We had heard poor reviews from others saying the customer service is below average but wanted to give Sassy Nails the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, those sources were accurate. The atmosphere was not warm and welcoming and there was no sense whatsoever of a "spa like experience" - there seems to be a lot of tension and stress in this workplace. The nail technician I had, who I strongly believe is the owner, not only spoke rudely to me several times but was rushed and did a poor, sloppy job on my nails. After she started with another client, I mentioned to my friend all the polish on my fingers and the woman overheard - she made a rude comment that seemed like she wanted me to feel bad for critiquing her work. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. It's really unfortunate because I now live down the street and am looking for a place to go every other week. Oh well, driving to Frederick is worth it for good customer service ! read more
