I've been going to Galena on and off for a year now and more times then not, I feel rushed. "Called ahead to make an appt and felt rushed from the beginning. I went in and it was like the whole salon just for little Shelly. Ruth was amazing. She was my tech for my services. I got a spa pedicure, lemon scent. I strongly recommend this service because it includes everything. Scrubs, massage, hot towels, and paraffin wraps. After all this pampering my eagle talons disappeared. She shaped my brows perfectly. She also provides facial services which Ill check out another time. The spa it self is very spacious and immaculately clean. You will need your mask. Im just happy that they are open!! Won't be going back. My nails are chipped and not filled after a gel manicure less than 3 hours ago. A third coat should've been applied, but i already politely asked her to fix my nails a few times so was done. I don't get my nails done often so this is a rare occasion I'll go and even rarer I'll ask someone to fix it. It was the nail techs first day apparently and she got paint on my hand multiple times, and tried to rub off a mark on my wrist I've had for years. Not worth the money - this picture is now 6 days following and I wanted to give it a chance before I posted, but you can tell how chipped it is. Wouldn't recommend. read more

I had an amazing experience here with Queenie and all of the staff. I am really picky with my nails. I want natural nails but work with my hands and my nails sometimes get chipped. They were able to repair a broken nail, give an excellent manicure and healthy protective coat to protect my nails from damage. I got a jelly pedicure with paraffin and extra massage. I tried this place for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It's very clean and nicely decorated. They provided prompt and attentive service for my mom and I. We were in for manicures, I asked for a simple French manicure. The end result was very nice. However I will say there were really pushing gel manicures or upgrades and said they couldn't do flowers on regular manicures, which I've had done in the past. Overall I'd highly recommend, I just don't think they're fans of simple manicures. read more

I heard and read about this new place couple days ago and I have to check it out. This place is very nice, clean and spacious, it would make a perfect place to host the party. Everyone here also friendly. I got the spa pedicure and since it's 20% off everything for the grand opening I decided to try The dip powder for the first time. Monica did a wonderful job, I have to keep my nails short so I never really bother to do anything with it. Monica helped me pick out the perfect shade. I used to hate the way the gel feel on my nails but this dip powder is nice and thin and look very natural, I really like it even on my short nails. They got tons of color to choose from, I can't wait to come back to try the different color. For the comment below with 1-Star, They only been open for a week. Give them a break, you left them with 1-star with out getting any nail service because their credit card machine is not set up yet. You have to drive into the community to see it...it's 4 days in and I wanted to try it out since I've tried most of the nail salons in this area. Everyone is nice! The place is clean (as it should be 4 days in). They have plenty of dipping powder (SNS) colors available. I got a pedicure and my daughter got her nails done. They did a pretty good job. My pedicure was pretty relaxing. She (Jessica) massaged my legs and feet and it felt so good....I'll have to try it again but with anything it's always good in the beginning. I'd say it worth a shot, good energy, smells great and decent pricing. With so much competition in the area, I can't wait to see it 3,6,9,12 months from now. read more

The place is a little bit pricey (35 for a regular pedicure) but the quality and the service was great that I would pay it again. I was a walk-in and called 15 minutes ahead and was seen right away. I got an SNS Dip with tips done a week ago. The manicure was $70.00 with tips. The technician was rushing through and finished the manicure within 30 minutes. Not even 7 days later, 3 nails broke off. I contacted them, and they said they would fix it. I appreciated that. However, once I got there, a technician started working on my nails and did not put the tips on the 3 fingers that were getting repaired. Once I pointed it out, she said "too late, you can come back later to get your nails redone and get new tips then." She said something to the other technician, and they kind of just laughed. Talk about making it awkward for me. So, I kind of laughed to myself, because I knew I wouldn't be coming back after that comment. To top it off she didn't even shape the nails like the rest of the other nails. After going to this salon because of its convenience, my mom and I realized that it was NOT a good place nor worth your money. I got an acrylic fill in and the nail technician cracked my acrylics, did not take all the old polish off, and made the length uneven. She did not let the polish dry before putting a top coat on which smudged my simple design. Upon leaving the salon , the nail polish has already chipped. On the website and through phone I was told the price of fill ins would be $25/35, depending on if I get a design or not. I got a simple cow design on two nails. In the end, my nails costed $50 for fill ins with a simple design. For the quality of my nails, it was definitely not worth the money. Complete scam. They only accept cash tips, which is understandable, but we assumed they would take credit. However, they didn't. My mom only had a $50 bill, which she expected change for and told them that, but they took the full $50 bill. This turned into a $150 trip when our nails combined should have been $65 + 30 for tip - no where near $150. We got taken advantage of and received poor quality. Will not be going back and do not recommend. Disappointed and disgusted by their morals. read more

I was hoping to give a 5 star! But I can't. The lack of cleanliness, friendliness and most importantly quality of service leaves me with no choice but to give a 1 star. I went for a Brow wax, and wanted to schedule a pedicure and a massage. But after seeing the filth of the wax area and the bad waxing job which included tweezing that cut me twice! Then being handed a filthy mirror to "see" my brows i changed my mind. I paid w/ CC and b/c tips are cash only I asked for change for a $20. I was given 2 $10 bills! I asked that one $10 be broken down again. So, a $10 wax that was awful ended up costing me $15 and a blisters on my lid where I was cut! read more

Today was my first time coming to "GNS", and I arrived as soon as they opened. I was a walk-in and I wasn't sure how busy they would be so I arrived early. I originally requested the gel manicure and spa pedicure, but later switched to the dipped manicure. My technician's name was, Thuy pronounced, "Twee" and she was amazing! Great conversation and she did a wonderful job on my pedicure. She got my hands ready for my manicure, and I made the decision to get the dipped manicure after speaking with two ladies that were already getting it. They both told me it was the way to go, and they were like the 3 and 4th persons that told me that I should try the dipped nails. I'm so glad that I did. I was very impressed with the results. Monica was super fast, nice and friendly. Although this place was a bit pricey, but it was well worth it for the excellent customer service and high quality final results on my nails and eyebrow. Also, the nail technicians have significant years of experience, are knowledgeable, and great at what they do! This spa was nice, quiet, and very relaxing. Thank you so much, Monica & Thuy! I had my nails done with Jessica. She was not friendly at all. Which is fine but she also cut into my nail and made it bleed and never even bothered to acknowledge it. She did a very sloppy job. Most technicians will clean any nail polish that gets onto the skin with a brush. She would just use a metal scrapper and smear it. She put so many layers of gel nail polish that it bubbled up at the end. I told her someone else had done a job like this before on me and the polish started to peel in a day or two. She gave a blank stare . I asked her to fix it. She just filed the side of my nails. Overall bad experience. If I'm paying $80 for a mani/pedi. I expect better results. I've gone to this place several times after Henry left for vacation and I have to say I've been highly disappointed. On Sunday I made a 3:30 appointment for a manicure and a pedicure for me and my daughter. After the mail tech rushed through my pedi, I sat and waited almost an hour for my mani. I was getting Acrylic removal to replace with dip powder on my natural nails. While using the drill to file down my nail, the mail tech lost control causing her to injure my pinky finger. I'm very disappointed with the service provided at this salon and will not be returning. read more

Absolutely awful experience. One tech slaughtered my daughter's cuticles and left them bloody. Two days after my manicure, I ended up with a horrible finger and nail infection (I have natural nails, too, so nothing invasive and this still happened). Dirty and unsanitary and awful service, rushing your services in between many phone calls and getting up for long periods of time to do other things. And add to that our injuries? I've been here a few times and never had a problem. However, today's incident totally turned me off and I won't be spending my money here again. Two weeks ago, I made appointments for pedicures for myself and three friends. We got there on time and they were not ready for us. They started my friends pedicures 15-30 minutes after our appointment time and didn't start mine until 45 minutes after our appointment time. Rather than honor our appointments, they allowed walkins to go ahead of us. They only sent someone over to start on me after I complained. I would have appreciated a discount or a coupon for a future service to compensate, but they didn't seem to care that much. I'm really disappointed because I liked their place and people, but I won't be back after their disrespect of my time. read more
