I haven't read other reviews, but based on the star rating, I'm guessing they are similar to what this will be. I bought three LivingSocial vouchers: 2 1-hour sessions, 1 2-hour. I redeemed one of the 1-hour sessions. They were on-time and very courteous, but work quality was poor, and one of them spent half her time doing a few dishes that were sitting in the sink. Really? I don't need you to do my dishes when you're here for only an hour. For the other two vouchers. Hoo-boy, this is where I get feisty. These expired August 26th. Being well aware of that, I tried to book online on July 5th. There were no open slots until after the expiration date, so I called to ask how to deal with that. I was told that as long as I made the appointments before the expiration date, it was fine if the appointments themselves fell beyond it. I confirmed, and confirmed again, and then I booked my post-expiration appointments as told. I got my email confirmations with all the correct details. This morning was supposed to be the first appointment, a 2-hour "enhanced deep cleaning" at 7am. I stayed up late last night and skipped a shower to prepare (ya gotta clean for the cleaners, know what I mean?). 7:30 rolls around and no word, so I call. A girl takes down my name/number and says she can't access the schedule, but she'll have them call me to let me know what's up. She also added that they have a policy where they can be up to 4 hours late (WTF?). 8:30 rolls around. Still no cleaners and no call. I call back. She asks if I was using a LivingSocial voucher, and when I said yes, she said they are no longer accepting those vouchers because they are expired, and that they sent out an email about this. I tell her I never got the email, and explain what I had been told (still reading? No. That's okay.) She says there's nothing she can do, so I ask to speak to someone who can do something, and she keeps telling me there's nothing they can do and they can't accept the voucher. Be-scuse me? I don't think so. Finally, she took down my name/number (again ... same girl), and said she would have a supervisor get back to me. I'm not expecting anything at this point. I called LivingSocial who more-than-graciously refunded my money for the two vouchers that weren't redeemed, and they said they would report the incident. I purchased a Groupon/ Living Social thinking, "Gee whiz, it'd be nice to have someone clean my apt for me for once." I used their online calendar which seemed perpetually filled but I made an appointment for 2 months in the future. My time was for let's say, 3p. After a kind of wild night out, I roll over an see a missed call from a number I don't know at 7am. And again at 10am. No messages. And then comes a knock on my door around 11am. They're heeeeeeeeeeeeeeere. The lady (Audrey, I assume) is very nice but says two other people are going to clean my apartment and need to get supplies but what would I like done? Granted, my place isn't THAT big but I asked for the kitchen (which is all of 3 feet wide), my bathroom and my floors...and if they had time, maybe some dusting. Mind you, where I lived before, I had cleaners come in and out in 45 minutes and the place was spotless--but alas, that was in Florida and I couldn't convince them to follow me. They roll into my place with the supplies at 11:15. One tackles the bathroom (which really needs help) and one tackles the kitchen which is actually pretty okay. Then they move on to vacuuming my hard wood floors and running a mop over it. At 11:50, she says their time is up and they have to go and oh, there is a $5 travel fee. My assessment: Bathroom- Meh. They must have dumped the water down my bathtub and in my sink because there is cat hair floating where there wasn't any before. Kitchen- Looks the same except my microwave is cleaner. Dusting- Never happened. Floors- I can't walk around barefoot. And I had to sweep up some dirt after they left. Oh, and I had sent them an email asking how much it would be to clean my 760 sq ft pad without a groupon. $180. They weren't worth the $30 I spent, much less the $180. read more

NO STARS. Amazingly bad customer service - didn't even bother to show up or call to let me know they weren't coming. Not worth it. LivingSocial offered a $120 "deal" on a "2 hour deep cleaning" session with SassySweeper. We bought THREE of these 'deals' at a total of $360. First you have to book your cleaning at LEAST 2 months in advance. That's crazytown right there. This is not neurosurgery - no cleaner should require 2 months advance notaice. Even with 2 months advance notice, the ONLY appt time we could get was at 5:00 AM. Yep 5 o clock **A**M***! Lastly, they were a NO-SHOW and NO-CALL for the 1st **AND*** the 2nd appts!! No I am not kidding. I got up at 4:00 am specifically to be ready for them, and sat around waiting for these folks to show up, but at 5 - nobody, at 5:30 - nobody and at 5:45 - nobody. And no phone call or apology either? Yep. Called at 5:45 to leave voicemail about the no show. When I called back from work at 8 am to follow up, the person answering the phone of course didn't "get any voicemail" and didn't bother to apologize for the No Show. So I requested a cancellation of my 3rd appt, based on the first 2 situations and a refund for all 3. They said I should call LivingSocial to get my refund. So that was another 5 or 6 phone calls for me to make, during my working hours, trying to get through to the always busy Living Social customer service line - awesome morning! Reallly worth getting up at 4am for! How do these ppl have any business at all??? Is the economy THAT good for cleaners that you can take someone's money and simply never show up and never apologize and you'll still get more business? If so I am in the wrong business. SCAM. I am filing a BBB complaint against this company. I agree wholeheartedly with all the other one star reviews. We had a Groupon, had to book over nine months out, and they didn't show. No apology, no contact. Conveniently, SS claimed to be booked out until a week before the Groupon expired so no chance to reschedule. Two phone numbers listed for the company; one is disconnected; the other is someone's personal voicemail. Do NOT use at all costs. Ok, so this is a 2 part review. Part 1: My experience with SassySweeper has been mixed so far. They came in a few months ago for a cleaning. They were late but, from the rest of the reviews, I assume this is pretty standard. I left the crew to clean my place and they did a decent job. One of the cleaners broke a stained glass picture and he was up front and honest about it and it was appreciated. He gave me the number to his "boss" so I can work out a remedy. Her options were to either take $100 out of his pay (cost of the item) or come back and clean for free to compensate. I took option B since I had a voucher and he probably wasn't being paid much as it was. I figured, it was a nice gesture and I can tip him so he can earn SOMETHING for his time. Well, this morning is suppose to be my gratis cleaning for the broken picture. I called both numbers listed. The first one is "temporarily out of service". The second one, posted on Yelp, gives me a recording that has nothing to do with the business. I'm a bit concerned. I don't want to kill my entire Saturday waiting on these people yet I have no way of contacting them. I can only surmise that from the negative reviews and experiences that people have had with SS that there is a good chance they may no longer be in business. Part 2 is pending. I will update on whether they showed up and, if so, how they did..... Part 2: 2 hours into what was suppose to be a 2 hour cleaning and it's a no show. Doesn't look like they're coming. **DO NOT USE THIS "CLEANING" SERVICE** I bought a few living social deals - the appt I made 2 months out got cancelled/rescheduled several times. They finally showed up 3.5 hours late - and did a horrible job. I just asked for a refund for my remaining deals and told my friends who I encouraged to buy the deal to get refunds as well. To add insult to injury here is the response I received after filing a complaint with them. I also included my reply as well. No apology, immediate defense and they did not even address my complaint that the services rendered were poorly done. My initial email- Message - Just redeemed my living social voucher for "2 hours of extended deep cleaning" and am extremely unsatisfied as the men who cleaned did a very poor job. However, in your case, the team followed your direction, based on your specific needs. They have informed us that you instructed them to concentrate on dusting and vacuuming first in your basement, then to the main level and finally to the second level, in which they made notes of on your specific work order. I decided to use Living Social to have my condo cleaned before my wedding. The crew did an incomplete job and scratched my stainless steel refrigerator. Audrey Owens (manager) was great in her response and she returned a few hours later to complete the cleaning. I later discovered 3 of 4 of my knobs on my stove were missing pieces that allowed them to come right off when I tried turning the stove top on. I spoke to Audrey & she stated all parts were ordered, then they were on back order, and 8 months later I'm still waiting to hear from someone. read more

I should preface this review by stating that I've never had any sort of maid experience before in my life, that seemed like something "other" people did. But, I've lived in my apartment for a few years and I never get around to doing nitty-gritty cleaning of the hidden corners, etc, and I thought it would be nice to have a professional do that for me. When Groupon/Living Social had a special for two hours of enhanced cleaning (with two maids) for only $60, I had to try it. Now, I live in a small, one bedroom, apartment, so I figured that for two professionals, two hours would be more than enough time to do an in-depth cleaning of the whole apartment. That was not the case. They only cleaned my kitchen/living area and bathroom. They estimated that to clean my whole apartment I'd need four cleaners for four hours. So I guess my expectations were off by a lot. How was their actual cleaning? It was okay. After reading the other Yelp reviews I was expecting shoddy work, and it wasn't that bad, but at the same time I don't think it's anymore than what I could have done by myself in two hours with some Black Eyed Peas blaring in the background. It was not what I was expecting, and honestly, given the amount of time and frustration I spent scheduling and waiting for this appointment, if I had to do it all over again, I would save my $60. I bought the voucher in August, scheduled my appointment as quickly as I could, and the first available appointment was in October. Given that this was a G/LS special, I get that. And while disappointed, I could understand. Then I get an email on 9/29, stating that they've had an error with their scheduling service and all of their appointments were lost. So I go back to book my appointment, and now the next available appointment isn't until mid-November. So, begrudgingly, I booked that appointment. I found out later that a friend would be in-town and staying over at my place that weekend, so I ended up having to reschedule for December. When the actual day rolled around, I got an email at 2 am stating that due to inclement weather the cleaners would be two-four hours late. That seemed odd to me since there hadn't been any snow, rain or ice that night, but when I rolled out of bed at 5-something to be ready for my 6am appointment I was disappointed to say the least. While I sat awake at that ungodly hour, I perused the reviews on Yelp (no reviews were posted when I bought the voucher). By the time I had to leave for an important client conference call at work, I'd resigned myself to just losing the $60. Given the reviews, I figured it was better to cut my losses than trust them to clean my apartment when I wasn't there. I called to cancel my appointment. Half an hour later I received a courteous call back offering to reschedule the appointment for the next morning (a Saturday) at 5:30 am. I was pleasantly surprised to receive that call and I accepted the offer. (Tip to the wise: I might have received that call back because I mentioned Yelp in my message, so they probably wanted to get some not-1 star reviews.) This review is probably way too long at this point, but I think it's worth mentioning two more things. #1- There's this supposed travel fee which I was surprised to learn about when I received my late notification message. I wasn't actually charged a fee (maybe because I live in the city?) but it made me nervous because I didn't remember ever seeing a mention of the fee at any other point on their website, on the purchase of the special or during the appointment booking process, and the email didn't mention a specific dollar amount, so I was afraid (especially after reading the other Yelp reviews) that they'd just rip me off. Thankfully, that was not my experience. #2- They didn't have a de-greaser or stovetop cleaning solvent so they asked me for those supplies. Those seem like basic cleaning supplies, so that surprised me. But more disturbing is the fact that I think they used my (very expensive, purchased from Whole Foods as a splurge) vegetable brush and Sigg bottle brush as cleaning brushes. When I went to use my vegetable brush after they left, the (high quality, very hard plastic) was broken into several pieces, with bristles falling loose. My Sigg bottle brush bristles were stuck with black grease. I don't have proof that they broke my vegetable brush, so I haven't contacted the company and maybe if I did they'd make amends, but the vegetable brush was only ~$12, so to me it's not even worth the stress & conflict, but I want to warn others to hide away their brushes. towels, sponges *not* meant for cleaning before SS comes by. I am quite sure SassySweeper is responsible, since I discovered chunks of the bright orange bristles in the middle of my spice lazy susan which is right next to my stove. read more

They're impossible to contact and they don't even do that good a job. Long review for entertainment purposes. Oh, and if SassySweeper wants to respond to this like they did to the others, PLEASE FEEL FREE. I'll be happy to update this email with your retort. And yes, I was pissed the last time I called your receptionist, since I'm pretty sure about 5 phone calls should have already remedied the situation. I made the mistake of buying 2 livingsocial coupons, each for 2 hours of "deep" cleaning. "Deep" gets the quotes, because they have a different definition of deep than most people. I think it might mean "half-a$$" to them. Here's their business setup: 1. Slick online signup for appointments. That sounds nice, doesn't it? You get an email right away confirming the appointment, along with an 888 number to call for info and cancellations. WHAT COULD GO WRONG WITH SUCH A SYSTEM? 2. They have at least 4 receptionists answering phones at the 888 number. Awesome! I'll bet they can easily pull up the electronic calendar and check to verify appointments in like 2 seconds! 3. Oh wait, the receptionists can't check the appointments. They literally don't have access to the appointment book. 4. DO NOT FRET! They can get a message to the "supervisor" who keeps the book of appointments and is out on jobs. 5. Never mind, start fretting! See, the supervisor never calls you back! EVER! 6. Show up for your appointment 2 hours early! Without calling! 7. Only clean for 1:45 instead of 2 hours, and then insist on your $5 travel charge. 8. Don't even do a very good job for that 1:45! 9. When the same poor client that only has to use you again because they're stuck with the livingsocial deal has another appointment coming up, keep saying that the supervisor will call or email to confirm the appointment even though they probably won't! 10. Just plain don't show up for the next appointment. 11. Continue to tell the client that "our only option is to text a message to the supervisor". We can't call them, nor can we do anything else, so go ahead and hang around to see if they show. Bottom line, these guys are terrible. All you have to do is look at the rest of these reviews. And make sure you read that 3 star review, because she was WAY too lenient with the stars. They ruined her brushes, were late, and generally sucked just like they did in every other review. That's another 1 star review. If you still have a valid livingsocial coupon or Groupon, just get a refund before you waste your time. There's probably 1000 cleaning services in Chicago that don't stink. Quick edit to update this: They finally called and said that since our livingsocial certificate expired on the 26th, they weren't honoring it. Apparently they ARE honoring expired Groupons. However, when I scheduled this appointment, I couldn't get one before the expiration date (and this was still 2 months in advance), so I asked if they would honor the certificate anyway. I was told that they would. So this is BS too. The first we heard that they wouldn't honor it was this morning when they FINALLY called an hour after they didn't show up. Mind you, I asked this question again 2 weeks ago before my last appointment, because I had a feeling they would pull this. One more edit: I didn't realize that Yelp has some sort of review filter that apparently filters out reviewing from people that haven't reviewed enough places yet (there's some algorithm I guess). I really wish I would have checked Sassy Sweeper out on Yelp months ago because than I would have been prepared for the exact same situation everyone else talks about. I had an appointment booked for early this morning (because that was the only time available). A half hour into my appointment and they still hadn't arrived I called and left a voice mail and then decided to check out any reviews here only to find that I probably shouldn't expect them to show up. I'm so frustrated! I've had this appointment booked for months and was really looking forward to it. I recently bought a Living Social Deal for this company - One Hour of "Deep Cleaning" for $30 (apparently half price of their regular Deep Cleaning rate). These guys have a great rating on BBB, but you can't find a review anywhere else about them. Regardless, I needed my apartment cleaned, so I went ahead and purchased a couple of the deals. Like any other of these huge group deal offers, getting an appointment is the trickiest thing. I have company coming into town this weekend, so I needed to book something asap. They have an online booking program that refuses to let you talk to a person to book your appointment. The only available online appointment was 1:30pm on a Thursday. So I booked it and crossed my fingers that someone on the other end received it and would actually show up. The time wasn't exactly convenient, but fine - I took an extended lunch to go home to let them in. They were late - by 30 minutes. They did call ahead of time to alert me, but nevertheless, this was now eating into some serious time during my day - 3 hours from start to finish. The supervisor finally showed up with 2 staff members. She took a look around my tiny apartment and said "Well - what do you want us to do?" - I was a little shocked - I thought they were going to do the whole thing, but I told them to start with the kitchen and bathroom, and then dust and vacuum the rest. They got to work, and I left to grab a quick bite to eat for lunch. When I returned, they were STILL working on the kitchen and bathroom, an hour later. Now - I can clean BOTH the kitchen and the bathroom in my own house in under an hour, including washing the floors by hand, so I have no idea what took them so long given there were TWO of them. I went to my bedroom to hang out until they were done and I heard the women cleaning the kitchen knock over my cat feeder that was at least half full of kibble. The next thing I heard was all of that expensive kibble going up the vacuum cleaner! Not impressed. Then the smell of HEAVY ammonia that they used to mop my kitchen floor to clean up the cat food. I have never used ammonia in my house - but everything when they finished smelled like heavy chemicals. Yuck! Now I will openly admit that my kitchen and bathroom were dirty - but my whole apartment was very tidy and cleaned up before they arrived, so they didn't have to do anything extraordinary in that hour of service. The rest of my house went completely untouched - they didn't even run a vacuum through the floors. I have company arriving tomorrow and now I have to go home and clean my own house which I didn't have time for in the first place - hence hiring a service to do it! To top it all off, once they were finished what they were going to do, one of the women came to me and declared that they were owed $5 for a travel fee (I seriously thought I was inside the zone that they travel to since they list ALL of the Chicago neighborhoods on their website - but I did double check and they do charge a fee for anyone outside the 60443 zip code) and gratuity on the original amount of the cleaning which SHE figured was at least $6 each. Now - I'm a good customer, and I already had $15 in my hand for tip even though I wasn't thrilled with the service - but the fact that she demanded a tip was completely ridiculous! A gratuity is given IF the customer feels that service has been exemplary and this service certainly wasn't (upon inspection, there are still loose cat kibbles under my kitchen counter!) I returned to my wallet to get the $5 travel fee and handed her $20 saying 'I think that should cover it'. So all in all - Cons - mediocre cleaning, heavy chemical smelling detergents used, and I still have to clean over 1/2 of my apartment. Pros - I got to eat lunch while someone else cleaned my tub, but honestly - I should have done it myself and saved myself the $50. read more

They missed my appointment twice - one because of the new scheduling system and the second time because they were running 4 hours late in the suburbs. I'll have you know, the latter caused me to sit at home for 9 hours withOUT any kind of update despite my calls and voicemails. Then, eventhough they wronged me numerous times, they didn't help me get the refund they offered to me, and I received curt email responses in the process. They are absolutely fantastic!! Frankly, these comments are confusing to me. After their first visit, I signed up for bi-weekly service with SassySweeper and couldn't be more satisfied. The house looks great, and smells fresh and clean after each visit. Each visit, they clean two the upstairs and downstairs in my home, including 2 bathrooms, 7 rooms, kitchen and hallways on both floors. I'm amazed at how much time has been freed up on my schedule now that I don't have to clean the house. Once I organize my basement, I will have them clean that space, as well. I feel quite comfortable that I'm getting exactly what I pay for each visit. read more

Is there a way to put less than one star? I asked for a confirm call, they blew me off. I called again to give an on site phone # for my boyfriend, who would be home. They had been given my cell 4 times and my boyfriend's once and they were 1 hour and 20 minutes late and said they couldn't call, because they had no contact for anyone. I called the office again and asked that someone call my boyfriend to say when they would arrive and call me to let me know why and they never called and why they were late. I followed up with a call and the phone rang more than 20 times and then I got an outgoing voicemail about calling after hours. I sent an email asking that they call me and no one did. On Monday, the Monday after the no-show Saturday appointment, and still no replies to my emails to their website and to Audrey's phone, I called the main office around mid-day on Mon., the 25th. I asked what happened to my Saturday appointment and some robot told me she would take my name and have the supervisor call me back. I've heard that before from them, but I left my information again anyway. It is now Tuesday afternoon, more than 24 hours after my call to the main office, and 72 hours after my appointment time. Nothing. I have since updated this Yelp review AND I filed a formal complaint on the local Better Business Bureau. read more

I tried them from living social web site. What a disappointment. I think it was their first time ever cleaning in their lives. I got the two hour deep cleaning for my 2 bed 2 bath. One of them started cleaning from a bucket that she says she thought the other one had put cleaning solution in. Wrong. hello? Does it smell like there is cleaning solution in there? Luckily I realized it after one bathroom. Then they never finished vacuuming, never moved furniture. Just did the minimum. I really don't want to have to be managing them. A cleaner needs to get in and know what to do. It's not like bathrooms carpets are that different from one place to the next. They were soooo unbelievably lazy. Do NOT use this service. I have a regular cleaning lady who I'm happy with, however I decided to try Sassy Sweeper (via Living Social) to save a few bucks. Big Mistake. I had to book my appointment MONTHS in advance because of their limited availability. Then they didn't show up. I had to wait several more months to get in again. Then they had the audacity to charge me $10 for being out of the area. Nowhere on their website does it state Chicago as out of area. Then after the cleaning people left, the manager or owner actually called me and told my my coupon had expired. This is because they had no availibilty for six months! The only good thing I can say is that the two people who came to clean were nice. But they clearly are not professional cleaners. I'm really surprised to see all the negative reviews about Sassy Sweepers. I bought a Groupon a long time ago, so maybe they've had time to get their act together. I had them clean my apartment this morning. I did have to schedule far in advance, but I did like their online appointment scheduler. My appointment was at 6:00am and they were only a few minutes late. Audrey came in, talked to me about my apartment, then the two guys came in with all their own supplies and started cleaning. They were professional and quiet - I actually went back in my bedroom and slept while they were there. Exactly two hours later I came out of my bedroom and they had done exactly what I asked them to. Consider me a completely satisfied customer. I could see where other people may have been unsatisfied. It does say in the fine print that they may be up to 4 hours late. It also says they will send you an EMAIL if they are running late. Apparently, this is the way they do things, and that's cool. I have had professional cleaning by two other companies, and Sassy Sweeper is by far the most professional and thorough. I figured by scheduling an early appointment, there would be less chance of them running late, and this turned out to be the case. Other places (such as Manic Maids and Oris's) ran up to 3 hours late, didn't bring their own supplies, did not do a thorough job. I don't have any super human expectations of cleaning professionals - and I always "pre clean" so that they have space and surfaces to actually clean. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. If you book something and then need to change it, it's virtually impossible. There's no way to do this on their site. When I called the number listed, which I did several times, the woman who answers consistently says she does not have access to the "appointment book" (is this 1975?) and that I'll need to call Audrey when she's in. I wish I could give this service 0 stars because they still have not come to clean my apartment regardless of the fact that my appointment was last week! I purchased a LivingSocial deal which I am now going to try to get refunded because this company is the worst! They sent me an email at 5:45am on the day they were supposed to come clean my apartment at 6:00am saying that I had a booking error and they had to cancel my appointment. A booking error! They couldn't have caught that when I booked the appointment weeks before?!?! I woke up at 5am to make sure my apartment was ready for them and they didn't even show up. Since then I have been trying to get a "manager" to call me back, but every time I call, the lady on the phone tells me that they are at a cleaning and will call me back. When I called back today, "Melissa" answered the phone. When I explained who I was, she simply hung up on me. When I called back moments later, another girl answered the phone? I am very disappointed by this company for several reasons. I had an appointment booked a month out for yesterday morning at 9AM. After half an hour I call to see where my cleaning crew is and I am told they have up to 4 hours to be late which came as a huge surprise. I'm also told that this is something I agreed to when booking the appointment. So I give them the benefit of the doubt and take myself through the online booking process again (you can't book on the phone with a live human being.) I get through the booking and have yet to see anything about a 1-4 possible delay UNTIL I hit the "submit" button and notice a message at the bottom of my confirmation page. The message indicates that a 1-4 delay is possible due to weather or traffic related issues. Oh, it also indicates that "ever effort will be made" to contact you via email to let you know of a delay. First - I'm not sure ANY weather or traffic would cause anything more than an hour delay tops, which I think is pretty generous. Why not just schedule a 4-hour time frame instead of a specific appointment time if that's going to be the case? I don't know of any other cleaning service that asks you to allow a 1-4 delay; you basically have to set aside a 5-hour window for a one-hour cleaning. Second, there's something wrong with including this message AFTER someone has booked the appointment because most confirmation pages only include the date/time and pertinent information you've just entered. Not "oh, by the way, you've just agreed to these terms and conditions." Don't terms and conditions appear before you agree to something?? I'm willing to bet that more than 50% of people out there never think to scroll down to the bottom to read the fine print. It's like purchasing a product and being told, after the fact, that it's defective. You're setting yourself up for disaster! I took a half day off from work for this and honestly would never do that again when there are plenty of other cleaning services that show up on time; that's just bad business on their part. But perhaps the biggest problem I had with this company is that I never received a phone call (or an email, as their delay notice indicates) to let me know about a delay. When I called to check on the status I was told that the cleaning crew would be contacted and I would get a phone call letting me know of an ETA. An hour went by and I never got a call. I call back again and I'm asked for my phone number again. I told the lady that I'd already given my info and then found out that her method of contacting the cleaning crew involved sending them a "message." I asked if she would mind calling them instead of sending them a message because clearly they hadn't gotten the message. I indicated that I needed to try to plan the rest of my day but that I was stuck waiting instead. The woman told me she had no way of calling them.... really?? That's just weird. To make a long story short, I never got a call, an email or any form of communication/apology etc. When I called to cancel the appointment all together (by this time 3 hours had gone by without any indication of when they would arrive) I was told another message would be sent asking to contact me ASAP. Sigh.... obviously the messaging system doesn't work. I woke up earlier than usual that day (I work late) and wasted half a day (which is half a day's pay.) People make mistakes, people are late, etc. but HOW the mistake is handled really makes a huge difference. I'm a very patient person and I give people the benefit of the doubt but to be treated so poorly is inexcusable in my books. There are PLENTY of competent and respectful cleaning companies out there. For some reason, Yelp removed my review (I suspect it was reported, so I am reposting it). I wish I could give this business zero stars. I bought a Living Social coupon for my mother, who is getting chemo treatments. I didn't want her to have to clean while she was feeling fatigued. Had I known what a disaster this would turn out as, I would have never bothered! I made an appointment for her for around 9 am one day in October. They called the evening before and tried to reschedule the appointment for 6 am. My mom said she could not do that early. Really, who wants to wake up at 6 am? They agreed to come at 9.....by 1 pm, the cleaners still weren't there, and they hadn't called to tell her they would be late. My mom called the owner, who was extremely rude to her, and my mom said she wanted to cancel the appointment. The owner yelled at her, and then HUNG UP ON HER. 5 minutes later, the cleaners showed up, so my mom let them in, thinking she may as well have them clean since I had paid for it and they were finally there. They were also completely rude to her, snapping at her when she asked why they hadn't called if they were running late. My mom had them start with 2 bathrooms (our bathrooms are quite small). Two cleaners took ONE FULL HOUR to clean 2 bathrooms, and did a total half ass job. When my mom came in to see how they were doing, one of them was picking up and examining all of her products, opening and smelling them. Totally unnecessary and inappropriate. If you google Sassy Sweeper, you will see that they keep signing up for these city coupon deals - in fact, they are the Groupon of the day today! But they cannot handle the business, they have terrible cleaners, and the owner is rude, unhelpful, and has no idea how to run a business. Stay far far away. Owner's response - Nov 1, 2010 Mariyam, we sent an email notification to the person on file, (either you or your mother) indicating that we were running behind scheduled 2-4 hours due to unforeseen traffic and/or weather conditions. The dispatcher spoke with the lady of the house from a twice and informed her that the cleaning crew was running late, about the email notification and that a crew was enroute. She did not hang up on her. The cleaning crew cleaned your mother's two bathrooms that were in horrible conditions. While cleaning the bathrooms one crew member ran out of a bathroom cleaning agent. Because the label was removed from the bottle, she open the bottle and was smelling its contents to ensure it was the bathroom cleaning agent and not bleach (which has the same color). She was checking OUR PRODUCTS and not your products. Considering the conditions of your mother's bathrooms the crew did an excellent job in the time allotted. Mariyam, you owe us an apology for writing such a scathing review without having all the facts! In the meantime, we hope your mother gets well and we wish you all the best in the future. My response - Nov 1, 2010 I think it's actually hilarious that I got this wholly untrue and unhelpful response from Audrey. I owe you an apology? Ha! I never got an email (mine was on file) saying you would be late. My mother never got phone calls saying you would be late. My parents are really clean, I know their bathrooms were not in terrible condition. In fact, one of the bathrooms that was to be cleaned that day is used only by me, and only once a week when I go home. So I KNOW that one is almost spotless. Oh, and the product the cleaner was inspecting? It was a hair product my mom used pre-chemo that she had bought abroad. She told me specifically what he was inspecting, and it wasn't cleaning supplies. But thanks for calling my mom a liar. I left a message for Audrey the day after this happened. No response. I also left a review on the feedback part of the website. No response. It's only when I review in public that I get any sort of response. And, that too, one that is rude and accusatory. This seems to go hand and hand with how they run their business - no apologies for their mistakes, or the idea that the customer is always right, but rather, blaming me and asking me to apologize. THIS SERVICE IS AWFUL. My roommates and I bought this off of Living Social and it was the WORST experience. We purchased it in August and the earliest they could schedule (online, no one answered the phone) was the end of October. We scheduled a 2 hr clean and the only thing that was done was a wipe down of our bathrooms and counter tops. There was no mopping, sweeping or deep cleaning. There was a lady and gentleman there and the gentleman was on the phone the majority of their time there. As a final insult, they stole hand soap, face lotion and a scrub brush from our bathrooms. Run far from this place! Absolutely the worst experience ever. I strayed from my normal cleaning service (never again) because Living Social was having a "Groupon type" special too hard to pass up. Only $30 per hour of cleaning! So, I purchased the 2-hour, $60 voucher to have my 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom (1350 sq ft) condo cleaned. I am very neat, have no kids or pets, so it's pretty much tons of dust on the wood floors, countertops, bathroom sinks/toilets/tubs, and vacuuming the area rugs. For starters, you have to go through their website to book an appointment and I literally had to book 3 months in advance because there was no availability. Since it was such a long wait, I obviously called the day before to confirm that they were coming the next day and to confirm their arrival time. After waiting for what seemed like forever, I finally got someone on the phone. She sounded like a kid and, when I told her that I wanted to confirm my cleaning service appointment for the next day, she said, "I do not have access to the calendar, but if you signed up they will be there." Surprised, I asked her if I could give her my name, address, anything for her to check to be sure they were arriving the next day (I actually was hosting a dinner party that weekend and REALLY needed to be sure they showed up) but she repeated that she could not help me and "did not have access to any calendar to confirm my appointment". I was totally stunned. What's the point of having someone answer the telephone then? This business was really starting to sound shady. The next day, they did show up and, again, more shock for me. A woman showed up with two teenage boys that looked like they were teenage gangsters. The woman came in, walked around my place, and asked me what I wanted done. I told her the basic vacuuming, dusting, cleaning (mentioned above) and she said, "Whoa, that's too much for two hours. You need to decide what you want done in two hours." Keep in mind, I have had my regular cleaning service for five years and they send two adult women who not only are done in two hours but who also clean the windows, oven, refrigerator shelves, and microwave. In this situation, I would have been thrilled with just the basics. I decided to eliminate one of the bedrooms totally (the guest bedroom). Then, the woman left and here I was with two teen boys staring at me as if they were being punished. They were the cleaning crew! VERY UNCOMFORTABLE, so I stayed home to sort of keep an eye on things while they cleaned. Let's just say, I would have just done it faster and better myself and saved myself the stress and awkwardness of this whole experience. In the end, I pretty much paid to have my floors vacuumed and that's it. The bathroom sink still had little toothpaste spots in it, the tub still had a little soap ring, and the coffee table still had dust. I had to clean everything again anyway other than the floors being vacuumed fairly well. I am very regretful that I did not read YELP before making such an impulsive decision by buying on Living Social. I actually don't really utilize Living Social anymore due to this experience. I have never taken this much time to write a YELP, but I wanted to spare others the pain and suffering of my experience. read more

NEVER deal with these people!! I'm re-posting, too, because my post was removed as well, which told of my BBB complaint. It's not inappropriate; it's just painfully true. Me to BBB on 09/26/2011 : I had an appointment for them to clean my house at 5 am on a Saturday. They sent me an email confirmation a few days before the scheduled date. They NEVER showed up. I called the office when no one showed at 5.30, and left a message on a machine. I called again an hour later, then again an hour after that, leaving messages each time. I called the following business day, Monday, again, no answer, so I left another message on the machine. It has been weeks, and no one has contacted me in any way--no phone call, no email, no snail mail. It did pay for their services BEFORE scheduling the appointment via gift certificate. Sassy Sweeper via BBB on 11/11/11: I apologize for the late reply. This email was stuck on the server and I just got access to the system today. [Customer] booked her (9/10/11)appointment under the wrong service area. She lives in [personal info], IL (Southwest Suburbs) and she booked her last appointment the Chicago Loop area. We serviced her twice in the past (6/28/11 and 8/9/11), because she properly booked her appointment. An email was sent to her indicating that she had booked under the wrong service and needed to book the appointment correctly. This is Amy's Fault and no fault of SassySweeper. Therefore, SassySweeper should not be penalized for the customer error. Me to BBB on 11/12/11:I do not accept their response for several reasons: 1) It does not indicate anywhere on their website, nor in the booking process that the South Loop office would not service my area. I had no reason to believe they were not going to show up. Also, I booked the appointments months in advance. They had plenty of lead time to notify me, which brings me to the second point... 2) They NEVER sent me an email, nor gave me a phone call, nor sent me a letter in any way shape or form, even to this day! Did they send you a copy of the email they reportedly sent me (or send you the phone records)?? I'd like to see it myself! This is despite the fact that I contacted them SEVERAL times the day of my appointment, and the following week! I filed a BBB complaint after a few weeks, giving them plenty of time to reconcile the matter with me directly before turning to outside help. I am not a complainer by nature, but I do fight for justice. I simply wanted them to be forced to acknowledge their mistake so they could address it and not burn others, but they respond by lying through their teeth, attacking my character! This makes me livid. This leads me to think they are a dirty business, or at the very least, EXTREMELY unprofessional and lazy! How spineless! They can't even admit they made a mistake?! Yet another 1 star review. Yup, they didn't even show up and there were problems. Bought the living social deal for a 2hr deep clean for our 2br 1 ba apartment. Made the appointment back in August for today september 15th at 7am. I was able to pick a time since they had slots open. So i figured i would take off work and have them come early and enjoy the rest of the day with a clean house. So today came, no one was here by 7:20 so i called the number and was then explained that my 7am appointment was really a; yes you have a 7am appointment but it comes with the stipulation of a 2-4 hour window. what kind of cleaning service provides a 2-4 hour window. I use to own a cleaning service and clean houses. This is not comcast or RCN or even stanley steam, this is a cleaning service, you show up at the designated time. Well they lost out on a $30 tip, instead, ill go enjoy a breakfast. HORRIBLE customer service. Seems they don't train their people good in explaining there is a window of arrival time. Dealing with Sassy Sweeper is TERRIBLE. You have to book months in advance. You pay full price if you cancel within 48 hours, but they give you a 2-4 hour window to show up. I had to wait 2 HOURS for them to finally show up and they nearly didn't come because I didn't reserve them a parking spot, even though there is plenty of street parking. I should note that they don't bother telling you when they're going to show up. I would stay far away from their HORRIBLE customer service. read more

I'm quite disappointed in their service. I bought the deal from groupon. Each time after the first time, they have arrived late, normally no big deal, it was usually 30 mins to an hour late, I can handle that. I understand that things come up, maybe since I was usually one of the earlier appointments, I think it might be a staffing problem. My problem is when they are late more than 2 hours, I called the customer service and they immediately said that it is part of their agreement that I acknowledged that they could be 2-4 hours late. Since I have to rearrange my work time to accommodate them and their schedule, that they should be courteous enough to call and let me know this?? Also, in the deal, again, in the fine print, When they called back for being 3 hours late, they said that the deal is only for one a month. I asked why it will allow me to schedule that and they said it is not fixed yet. My other complaint is that I have asked on the last 3 visits to primarily concentrate on the floors and it is still left somewhat dirty, I don't believe it was vacuumed first or at all. Now that they are 3 hours late, I called cust serv, and they finally call back with the "We can be up to 4 hours late and you only get one a month BS" Why couldn't they have called me back within the last 3 months that I have had this scheduled and told me that I can't have 2 appointments 3 weeks apart. They cancelled their appointment, then hung up on my wife after talking rude to her on the phone, when she called to ask why. I think this was some Groupon or Living Social thing.
