I've been to better strip clubs in east bumble in the middle of no where. The layout is horrible. They basically charge you to come in the door and you are brought into a room with just a bar, you are told that you must buy 2 drinks. Each drink is somewhere from $15 to $20. Once you have your drinks from the bar room you can walk into the stage room. The stage is rectangular and runs the length of the room. There is about 5 feet on all sides around the stage to sit and THAT'S IT. The room is tiny. Private dances are given out in the open. My first strip club experience was here on Christmas Eve going into Christmas. Walking in, the bouncer threatened that we better be over 21, half annoying and half funny because everyone always thinks I'm 16 and it gets a little tiring. The vibe was this: TINY club, TINY stage (not really a stage), sucky music, and most ladies didn't have that much of a personality. my friends and I were given a free entrance ticket outside the club. When we came in, we were told that with the ticket, it's 25 per person, and mandatory to check your coat for 3 dollars. The 25 charge included 2 drinks, but there's a 4 dollar upcharge for any top shelf liquor. When we sat down, we were immediately approached by girls who were quite beautiful and very friendly. My experience at Satin Dolls was one of the scariest experiences of my life. Satin Dolls is a criminal enterprise and its quite shocking that the New York Police Department as well as the prosectors office permits such a criminal operation. Truly, it is bewildering that the one of the many city's regulation agencies has not shut down this criminal organization. I was given a bill and told to pay it. When I questioned the bill I received and told the waitress who provided me with that bill that it was not mine and furthermore it was not possible to have placed so many orders within the short time frame I was at the club I was met with threats and told I may not leave. I told the waitress several times that I wished to leave as she was blocking me from moving, to which she responded I may not until I paid the bill which was not mine. I asked her if I was being detained. The waitress responded that I was. I told the waitress that I was going to call the police. The waitress then threatened me that if I called the police she was going to tell them that I had assaulted her. I told the waitress that since she was detaining me, I had no other choice but to call the police and I began speaking with the emergency operator. After this the waitress had several of the bouncers come over, slam me against the wall and grab me and throw me out of the club, to the protests of fellow patrons not to hurt me. I was grateful to be out of the club. Immediately I went to the police working the beat outside the club. I spoke to them regarding this situation and they informed me that this is a popular shakedown scam that they run at this joint, targeting individuals who appear to be alone. They said that they would arrest the waitress and the two bouncers who became violent with me but that waitress will claim that I assaulted her so that I would have to be arrested too before it can be sorted out in court. Went to Lace with two of my buddies as we were in the city for the day. The man who met us at the door was very polite and nice, and explained where the coat check and rest rooms were. Went into the actual club area and was greeted by a friendly drink server who got me an overpriced beer for $10. That was about the end of any positives. My buds and I were totally ignored by the girls there, and weren't approached at all in the entire hour we spent there. Every other club I have ever been to, at least the women approach you and are friendly. These women seemed to want to just sit together drinking with each other and didn't seem too serious about wanting a tip, unless you were dressed in a business suit. Maybe, they figure that men in business suits will tip more than a man in shirt and jeans, but that's not very good thinking. I give this club 1 star. Believe me it's not even worth that. Visiting from Europe. On a military break, told to pay $20 to get in plus got a horrible look when I only gave a 5 tip. Had to pay another $15 plus 5 tip for 2 drinks. This was even before being allowed in the club properly. Sat down. Within 3 minutes was flashed, had the not very pleasant strippers poke me, sat on my lap, almost in a head lock. Even had my privates grabbed plus told... No wait.... Had more strippers come over all to see what they could get out of you, but believe me, these girls are not worthy of being called strippers, some obviously have drug issues, some probably don't condone hygiene. After about 15 minutes the word had gone out so I was ignored for the most part for the next 20 minutes. The thing that made me exit, and quickly. There was a guy in the corner who had his wallet stolen by one of the girls after a dance. She finished the dance and disappeared into a room. When the guy was yelling about his wallet the bouncer distracted him, the stripper came back and literally threw the now empty wallet under the table. Obviously the guy didn't see this. The bouncer had his body blocking the veiw. End result the guy was not so discreetly thrown out. Avoid this club at all costs. Drinks are costly (For a vodka tonic I had to pay 30$ plus tip), which is half way o.k. given the continuous presence of the girls. Lap dance 20$, which is certainly o.k. Other prices according to the manager: 'Semi private' room 490$ for 30 minutes plus an expected tip 200$ or more, for which they charge an administrative fee of 20% when paid by credit card. 'Full private' is a lot more more than 1000$ for 60 minutes. A free drink would be included except for a tip. That is all outrageously overpriced. All they are after is that your money changes ownership at the highest possible rate. Which means that most people might go there once and never again. Here is what you can do alternatively: Consider to take a two week vacation (e.g. Dominican Republic) at a similar price level including flight and hotel.
