However we parked at the mall across the street on this trip and this was right across the street. My husband really wants a grandfather clock and he was very excited to check out the selection. Prices seemed kind of high to me but to be fair I don't know anything about grandfather clocks, lol. They also have a nice selection of Frankenmuth magnets, they ranged from like $4 to $10. I ended up buying one of the $4 ones. The reason I'm bumping up this review to five stars is because I lost my Fitbit there (Fitbit Zip, an old one that sits on my waist, not my watch) and when my husband and I got to Kern's and realized it, we rushed back to the store to check there first (it was 530pm). The (owner? Employee?) welcomed us back, and another customer immediately pointed to it on the floor. Saved us a lot of hassle and had they closed immediately at 530pm, the doors may have been locked. Looking forward to checking this store out again the next time we are in town.

Always a great conversation and an education in time pieces. The group in the back can repair or restore most anything. We've had two intricate grandfathers restored and they do incredible work. One took six months and the other seven. The wait was well worth it. Back to the store. They have clocks of all sizes and price ranges. On our initial visit to the store we spent over an hour, like it were a museum. This isn't the dime store, so know that you'll be paying a hefty price for most any clock here. Again, it's an investment that justifies the price. This is also your place for authentic German Christmas pyramids. We bought the pyramid with Seiffen church for under $100. A neat little wooden pyramid with a German church, carolers and a Christmas tree. When the tea lights are lit, the rising heat causes the blades to turn. I recommend that on your first visit you take in everything. If something grabs you, you grab it back. Otherwise, bring your funds on all future trips! 05/22

Cute little boutique featuring rustic/farmhouse/shabby chic home decor…read more I stopped in last week and thought the name of the store looked familiar to me. It was and for good reason- it's the sister store of a home decor shop in Tawas City that I remember shopping last summer. That store was super cute and kinda eclectic and so was this one. The store just opened in April and is very much like the shop up north. They mirror each other pretty well, from layout and service to selection and price point. Customer service was nice and attentive and the stock was ample, showcasing plenty of "farmhouse chic" type of decor- candles, vases, furniture, clocks, artwork, signage, etc, much of it in a rustic, upcycled motif. The prices are kinda on the high end for even simple items, but the furniture was pretty reasonably priced. Some of the pieces are pretty garden variety and nothing that unique or that you can't get at Target for much less, but other items (larger pieces) are rather interesting and worth a real look. Overall, a nice store with great service and a mid-range price point for the most part.

The store is full of eclectic and vibrant decor that will speak to the hearts of artists everywhere, ranging from clothing, to furniture, to toys and museum quality gifts. It has a variety of quirky finds that I've never seen before. The intention here is almost like a local gallery exalting each stunning piece of art, no matter how small. The pieces ranged from the very tiny porcelain dog, which was about the size of your thumb, to the very large bears, that were furry and taller than me. Colorful, diverse art dotted the walls and were displayed in all different living room themes for all different tastes and styles of home. This was a clever idea. You could picture the decor in your own home. "Buy local" is the intention here and deteriorating properties were bought up by the owner and given a stunning facelift to elevate the community. This was a closed down roller rink. There was also a cinema next door that turned to a gift shop and off beat eatery. The unique history of each is preserved in the original artifacts throughout. Being that this is art focused and unique, don't have the expectation of Walmart prices. Of course you're getting one-of-a-kind quality pieces that will make your heart sing when you see your selected art displayed proudly in your home. Leon & Lulu also will give you a discount for your birthday if you share that information. If you're in Ferndale, Clawson or Detroit, put this store on your must visit list.

If you're looking for something unique, funny, fun, or more of a traditional purchase then this place is for you. We were able to purchase some very cool gifts for friends and family that were tailored to their personality. The shop's staff was very friendly and helpful when we needed them and they were also pretty available when we needed someone even though they were a bit busy. As for the prices I would put them on par for a place that sells the selection that this place has. You can find some items that are cheaper (not cheaply made), and other items that are pretty high (saw a pillow for around $300 ). I will definitely be putting this place on my list of shops to go for the next time I need to shop for friends and family!

It is the talk of the town store, to walk inside and to shop slowly with a mini basket or shopping cart with lots of cash since YOU WILL fill it up due to low prices ! :-) SIGN UP ahead of time for email notification sales and receive a $10.00 off Coupon. My updated review today is still a 5 star shopping store that has been remodeled during COVID. The departments are organized with so much more room with fulfilling inventory for your household needs. Christmas Tree Shops sells: Bed & Bath, Home Decor, Furniture, Lighting, Toiletries, Everyday Market Items Non-Perishable & Perishable such as cookies. Coffee, Teas, Soups Snacks, Kitchen & Dining needs, Seasonal Outdoor & Garden, Seasonal items for holidays such as Easter, Spring, Red White & Blue Holidays, Summer, Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and of Course Christmas and New Years! I saw a larger area of Pet Supplies, Hallmark Cards, Brand name Beverages with paper and party goods for that special event. NO Beer or Alcohol although I've bought Mrs. T's Tropical Cocktail Mixers. There many isles and areas in the center with items year round and ever-changing to create fresh ideas at fab prices! The staff here is very pleasant and always moving throughout the store if you need assistance or help. *"Clean Restrooms" are available here in the back area of the main entrance isle. Located near their home decor department with wall art photos and where lamps are. Stop in and let your treasure hunt begin. There is so much to choose from during Thanksgiving and Christmas, and lots of it is marked 50% off or more after the holidays. Besides holiday décor, I found several really cute planters on my last visit. The pink and white face planter only cost $7.99. I've seen face planters at garden nurseries for as much as $50, so this was a good deal. The green "plant lover" planter was only $2.99. This is a good place to shop for anyone looking for inexpensive holiday and year-round decorations for one's office, cubicle, classroom, or home. There is also a section with generic brand snacks and cleaning products.
