I have always found Dr. Little to be an exceptionally competent diagnostician who is also a consummate professional. When circumstances required he has gone the extra mile to accommodate me, including once meeting me at his office at 2:00 am and on more than one occasion visiting me at home and, when appropriate, bringing me very helpful medications. Dr. Little has never hesitated to recommend me to a specialist when he thought it was in my best interests to have that added expertise. I have dealt with some gut-wrenching conditions which required the work of out-of-town, world-renowned surgeons, but I always drew comfort from knowing that back in Kalamazoo I had a primary care physician who always had my back and was there to deal with post surgical problems, including chronic pain. He did not speak with my spouse after surgery in the hospital, staff did not have the details. they told us to call his office the next morning To get proper discharge instructions. Was not able to get the pain meds that he prescribed as he wrote them for the incorrect mg. this caused extra pain for a day and a half after surgery until I was able to get the correct script. due to computers being down, no one could tell me what he removed during my surgery and it took him 3 days to return the call. His office reached out to him several times. when he did call me he never apologized. Follow up appointment was 2 1/2 weeks later and I was telling him I had pains in certain areas and he told me he had no idea what that was Because I should be fine. I went to my regular doctor a few days later and he said I likely had a kidney infection from the catheter during surgery and my surgeon should have caught that at the follow up based on my symptoms. UTI got so much worse affecting my kidneys due Dr. Pierson not Believing my pain. disappointed because I really initially felt I was getting the right care. Surgery is not routine for the person going through it like it is for the doctor and I was not treated well.

I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I was able to schedule an appointment. After reviewing the diagnostic tests, examining my knee, reviewing my medical history, and interviewing me, Dr. Ream announced that I was a good candidate for partial instead of complete knee replacement. He explained that I had the choice of either and explained the benefits and disadvantages of each. I elected the partial knee procedure and Dr. Ream performed the surgery nearly a year ago. He and his staff thoroughly prepared me for the procedure, took appropriate precautions due to my existing heart conditions, explained well what I should expect after the surgery, and provided me with instructions for self-administered physical therapy. Dr. Ream is personable, competent, and willing to invest whatever time is necessary to answer any questions. His staff reflects the same characteristics. Almost a year after my surgery, I am pain-free, have full range of motion, and could not be more satisfied.
