Ugh. Satyam. Why did you let me down?
I was looking forward to a good lunch at Satyam when a girlfriend invited me to join her along with our mothers in law. We arrived to Satyam, which I have been to once (and didn't remember, unfortunately, that I didn't enjoy it) and were seated promptly. The restaurant was empty and there was one server who took our order and assisted us while we were there.
The food, oh the food. It was ...not good. 30 pounds for a tasteless Bombay sandwich and chips, a paneer wrap (which was more of a thick flatbread impossible to wrap stuffed with sweet paneer - WHY was it so sweet?!) and two thalis (whose contents were disappointing, according to my mother in law).
I will make this review short and sweet - I can see why Satyam was totally empty. Although their menu looked promising and the food looked good when it arrived, it was tasteless. When it did taste like something, it was wrong. There are no descriptions on the menu so unless you're familiar with dishes like Mogo Hoho (who is?!), you better ask your server (who will give you chaas when you asked for it not to be included in your thali lunch).
Skip Satyam and try any other place for a meal. I will say, however, their shakes and sweets are a better option.
Not a place I'll be returning to. I forgot my earlier disastrous experience when I was just a visitor to London but after eating in, I will make sure I skip it in the future. There is a lot of room for improvement and it would be nice to see this business grow. read more
