He is an absolute genius at capturing the emotions and expressions on peoples' faces, and also gets great shots both of the big picture of the event (he even got a shot of the entire party dancing from up above on a balcony) and the little details like table settings and gorgeous and creative shots of our rings. He is very professional, he was always punctual and also very personable. He made all photo shoots comfortable and he gave great directions as a good photographer should. The Pictures overall came out great, he uses more natural lighting and settings instead of using a ton of Photoshop. He is a reasonable guy so he was very accommodating to any questions or needs we had. On our wedding day he gathered up our big family and made sure he got all the family photos in with everybody he worked very fast i was amazed. we got the package that came with an album and a second photographer and his second photographer was great as well, the album came out really well in which he asked us to review a few times before we all picked the best pictures together. When you go meet him he lays out all the packages and he gives you deadlines when all the photos will be ready to be ready for you, and he ALWAYS delivered on due dates. A wedding photographer is not something you want to cheap out on, trust me... some of my close friends did and i still hear horror stories till this day about them. Katherine sent frequent emails with updates and tips on how to prep for the day and we had a preliminary call where we were able to make a schedule and plan out the day since we also had a wedding photoshoot afterwards in Golden Gate Park afterwards. During the day of, Katherine was on-time, flexible with when the other people in our group arrived, and guided us through the whole morning with when to check in, where to take photos, etc. She gave us some prompts of how to pose but overall she let us be natural and encouraged to be comfortable in front of the camera. The ceremony was captured beautifully by her and she took great group photos. We then went to Golden Gate Park, and she helped us take some cute coffeeshop and park photos, even with some bonus tennis court and piano pics (two of our favorite hobbies!). After the day, we received a sneak peek very promptly with an awesome of photos (~100 of them!) and a huge full gallery in about a month with lots of gorgeous film photos. My sister and her husband decided to take pictures on the Brooklyn Bridge and surrounding areas. As far as payment goes, 50% deposit was placed at the time of booking and paid in full when she showed up for the wedding, which I greatly regret. I constantly had to text message Pdot for the images which she always had an excuse as to why my pictures weren't ready. I asked on a couple of occasions for simply my money back, and when I did she would email me a handful of pictures at a time. We met with Jocelyn Voo over Zoom before moving forward with working with her for our special day as our photographer and our witness. Jocelyn was absolutely outstanding for more reasons than one. Firstly, we felt that she really "GOT" us, from start to finish. She listened to our vision (dark, moody, candid, casual, gritty) and as wild as some of our ideas were, she totally leaned in and delivered exactly what we were looking for! Secondly, when you're eloping just the two of you, having a third person present is intimidating; what if it's awkward? What if the vibes are weird? But Jocelyn was an absolute joy to spend time with! I'd go so far as to say that her presence made the day even more special. She asked us about our love story, she joked around with us, and seemed genuinely interested in who we were as people. This also impacted the photos, as you can see how comfortable we are and how much fun we're having. Third, Jocelyn is an expert at her craft, although not pretentiously so. Her website offers so much guidance on how the elopement process works. Her emails with us gave us contacts for who to reach out to for certain steps (We took pictures in the lobby of the Beekman and had to have permission granted; something we certainly wouldn't have known!) Not only did we consider Jocelyn our photographer, but our guide in the process of eloping. She also is an expert in that her photo-taking does not appear obvious! I was worried about having professional pictures taken of me in public, but onlookers barely noticed as Jocelyn very naturally pulled her camera out and snapped pictures.
