First, she used Pinterest for us to share a variety of "looks" back and forth that I wanted to incorporate into the portfolio. On a side note, I didn't "get" Pinterest until we collaborated for my portfolio. It was a great way to communicate about poses, artistic style, etc. Next, we met in the Simone Marques Photography studio, not far from the Empire State Building. The studio and Ms. Marques' approach were both warm and comfortable. The session was unrushed, with a focus on getting the pictures we needed, as opposed to the clock. Also, she took the time to show me the photos as we moved along, so I could better understand how her different instructions to me were improving the photos. Soon she shared all of the photos with me online, and I selected the ones to be touched up. There were no hidden charges whatsoever. Very unusual in the photography business. The end result was a portfolio of pictures that captured me at my best. I receive compliments on them constantly. Most importantly, I am confident in the pictures, which are important for my professional presence. My proposal photographs were a surprise for my fiancé, and Melissa was able to take several candid photographs that truly captured her shock in the moment.
