I love coming into the Savannah Bee Company. I mostly go to the one downtown Savannah, but usually don't want to carry bottles of Mead around, so we stopped in here to grab a few things and a honey soda. If you haven't tried their homies, meads or non-alcoholic drinks I highly recommend it. Although it can rack up a high bill pretty quickly. Also, don't forget to donate to the Bee Cause project which helps the honey bees.

Happened to walk by this store and just felt drawn in for some reason. I've heard of this store before (as there is one in Atlanta) but I've never made my way in. So it was a perfect time to drop in while relaxing on SSI. First, it smells amazing in here. Not overpowering or anything but just a really nice sweet smell. Guessing from all the honey. Anyways, there's lotions, body wash, lip balms, and soaps on the right side of the store with an area to try a few of their scents and on the left side...alllll sorts of variations of honey. Like chocolate whipped honey, regular honey, lavender honey, just honey everywhere. Jars of honey, a book full of recipes with honey in it, again...honey everywhere andddd you can sample each fancy flavor. There was an awesome young lady that helped us who was just the absolute sweetest. She explained to use how the company was started, where the honey is sourced from, and even got my friends to do a wine tasting with various types of wines made with some type of honey. She was just outstanding and we probably spent a little tooo much time in the shop just talking to her because she was so friendly. While I didn't take part in the wine tasting, I'm told the wine, cider, and mead was awesome. Who knew stopping by the Savannah Bee Company would be so much fun?

I know all about Savannah Bee Company- having popped in last time I was in Savannah. Didn't stop me- I love honey. Samples are just waiting for you to step up to the counter. Whipped honey- in chocolate, lemon & regular tickle your senses. And then all the various honeys! The had a black sage honey that was very unique (and delicious) flavor that I couldn't resist. Add to bag. I was intrigued by the one from Hungary- but it didn't taste very different from local honey. After licking away lots of sample spoons- we headed over to the honey meads. Just looking at the display- John wanted them all. I saw the sign that advertised for a tasting- but little did we know we weren't sharing a tasting. Which meant we spent much more than expected- since we also purchased a bottle of $38 Black Currant Mead. Tasting- $24. Each. Insert frowny face. We had done a tasting at a local Rum distillery today and shared the tasting for less than one of these and got more. So- yeah, wasn't overly thrilled about that- I am thrifty. So- we dropped about a $100 between honey, mead and tastings. Sigh. But- I loved trying all the honeys, I loved every single mead. I wish I could have bought all of them!

We stopped in for a Mead tasting and had a really great experience! Lots of other honey products as well!

Wow, this store is way more than honey, Honey. Did you know they had honey coffee, or honey booze, ya me neither lol but they do. The store is gorgeous with wood detail and organized displays. The staff is helpful and you can sample tons of items. The gift sets are fabulous and the wall of honey will blow you away.

The flavor is surprisingly good. I will add the chips are not greasy and very tasty. Side salad is a great side option. We also loved the lemon pepper chicken wings. Very crispy and not greasy. The Havarti grilled cheese sandwich was also a hit. Handhelds were priced $15-20. And the entrees were $20+. Highly recommended this restaurant and bar. The store is a plus to the dine.

We sat at the bar but learned the Tuesday special was a flight of three bartender choice wines 2 oz pours for $15. Evidently the Wine tasting thing was not current. We've seen many restaurants don't update their web site so it's always a gamble when you show up. Not sure if it was an open table thing or the restaurant. Either way we enjoy wine so my wife ordered a red flight and I ordered a $6 happy hour Italian Pinot Noir. The Pinot was fine and decent pour and my wife sampled the flight. One of the wines was a little off and we both thought it may have soured. She mentioned it to the bartender and he shrugged it off and said it wasn't an old bottle. Mentioned it again and no big deal. Might have been nice to at least offer something else. I'd recommend ordering a glass of what you like rather than waste the $15. For dinner I wanted to try the seared pork ribeye but they were out of stock so I settled for the short rib sandwich on ciabatta bread. My wife ordered the beet and goat cheese salad which she enjoyed and thought was fine. The short rib sandwich was tasty enough but the bread was soft like it came out of a plastic bag. I was hoping for a better quality bread which is important for a sandwich. It wasn't something I would order again. Overall it's a really quaint place with isles of olive oil and items to purchase but the experience was a 2.0 and the food average 3.0 at best. I really expected a bit more especially from the look and feel of the place. Not sure I could get around to wanting to go back to try anything else on the menu. Bartender was nice but overall just not a good experience after a long day of work. I feel bad to leave an unsatisfactory score but I upped my 2.0 to 3.0 as ratings are important and it's probably at least a 3.0.

BAD MANAGEMENT! Today's my birthday, I always get excited for my free gift every year from here! I…read morehave been a manager for 6 years in the service industry and honestly I'm a pretty patient and kind person! This is not normal for me to write a bad review, and honestly it takes a great deal for me to even complain because I understand the struggle of the service industry! This sweet sweet cashier was working her tail off! She was so kind, patient and did her BEST! She had glasses and brown hair I don't remember her name but, I thanked her many times! unfortunately the MANAGER only scheduled one person to work the floor and since she was the only one actually working she was on register trying to tackle the LONG line of inpatient older Karen's who clearly don't understand what it's like to work in the service industry understaffed while dealing with bad management!!! When the cashier asked for manager help MULTIPLE times the manager yelled at her, had an attitude and was so rude to her one employee in front of a LARGE line of people. No way is that ever right to treat a person in such a way! The manager instead of helping getting this large line of people out the store and distressing the environment she decided to snap at her one employee and run away to "help" someone on the other side of the store. Priorities lady!! Priorities!! I patiently waited and tried to figure out my coupon situation for my free birthday gift, the cashier was being kind and helpful helping me figure out why I never got an email when I do every year and when she asked for the manager to help us the manager refused to give me my free grift and snapped at us. I personally truly don't care about not getting the free gift as much as I care about how this young lady was being treated!!! Bad management makes or breaks a work space and she needs to get herself under control if she's going to want to have hard working, respecting employees! She created a terrible work environment and I've only barely had an encounter with her and I could tell! I'm happy I decided to not shop and get anything for myself for my birthday (I was planning to) because I refuse to give my money to a place that treats there team this way. I hope this review gives higher ups a little motivation to try and fix this and work on making a better work space for the team and customers. That is the only thing I wish comes from this review!
