I was introduced to these guys through an improv performance at a wedding reception. How cool of them to perform at a wedding and what a novel idea for the bride and groom to arrange for an improv troupe to perform at their reception. It certainly made the dinner more lively and entertaining. The group that came to perform for us included Jayme Tinti (Artistic Director), Joanna Walchuk Aprea, Wesley Pridgen, and Cydnei Prather. Jayme was the energetic host/MC and she guided us through all of the acts. I've been to several improv shows in Atlanta so I was familiar with some of the formats. What makes improv fun is the audience interaction. All of the acts performed required input from the audience. Some of the acts actually required a member of the audience to directly participate on stage (or in our case, on the wedding dance floor). Examples included an act where someone from the audience would tell the actors to instantly "change" their story throughout the act and another act where the actors sang a song about an audience member they just met and knew only a few facts about. It was funny. There were games like one actor having to guess the other actors' personas or professions (suggested by the audience). There were stories and musicals with ideas, locations, and music types suggested by the audience. Cydnei served as both an actor and a live musician. I was impressed with her musical improvisation on the keyboard. On a whim, she was able to churn out music that matched the mood of the act whether it was dramatic, lighthearted, or something else. Props to her. Overall, I thought the entire group did a fine job. They were wacky, enthusiastic, and quick to think on their feet (something I'm terrible at). Thanks for the performance!

I have tried for several weeks to contact Muse Arts Warehouse to rent it for an event. After…read moreemails, texts, voicemails, multiple phone calls and even speaking to someone in the box office I have pretty much given up. I am a patron of their space and was really hoping to use it on a repeat basis, it is a shame that such a creative space is being handled so poorly that it can't be used for actual events. I also found it amusing when I recently received an email asking for donations, I tried to give them my money and in exchange I wanted to fill the space for a night, last time I check that's how this is supposed to work. For the sake of their business they should try and fix this problem soon, even if the answer is no about renting the space they should have the professional courtesy to return communication, every time you do things like this it effects your reputation and in turn financial supporters.

The Savannah Philharmonic calls the Lucas their home. SCAD has many events in the building. There is a small cafe at the front with popcorn, drinks, some small bites, and alcohol too. There is parking to be found on the street. Yes, you will need to pay for it. There are parking garages close too. The Lucas was recently restored a few years ago. It is beautiful. The theater itself is not huge. It is not meant for a gigantic audience. But it comfortably fits a very large crowd on two levels. I have sat on both levels. You see well from both. The Lucas is a building worth a visit.

The auditorium is attractive and inviting. The sound is amazing. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained. I am here for TEDx talks and this is the perfect venue as it highlights area of our community not often utilized. The parking is not ideal, however, the sponsors have made the best of it. The entryway is welcoming and I hope to attend future events here.

I came for a concert and I will say that might be my new favorite indoor venue. The inside had…read morelots of bathrooms, food, and signage. The staff was also super friendly. My favorite part of the venue: the high bar seats behind the stage where I was able to feel super close to the band. I have not seen a venue like this before. My least favorite thing was the lack of outdoor signage on which line to get in. We winded up in the VIP/ Floor line and they were turning people away after they stood in the line for 30+ minutes as it moved up. Luckily, we were super nice as always, and they slapped some bands on our wrists and said to have fun! My FAV FAV part was how they have figured out rideshares! The staff asks the ride share who they are picking up and then call out your name. It felt like elementary school pick up all over again and worked so smoothly.

This was the first event we've ever been to at Enmarket Arena. It's about half the size of VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville which holds about 15,000 for concerts whereas Enmarket Arena holds about 7,500. Their minor league hockey team plays there as does their new women's basketball team like our Jacksonville Waves. The venue has been open for 4 years now and somehow, there are still some pain points with respect to customer service / interaction. There seem to be tiers of teams there and I can tell you this: every single person we interacted with that was wearing a blazer was rude to us for absolutely no reason. Even though we encountered more than a few folks who seemed almost mad to be working there I'd like to call out two AMAZING people that helped make our night awesome. These two folks were from other teams (not wearing blazers). First, I'd like to thank Sheila for being a warm, kind hearted person who was just a joy to interact with from the moment we got to the arena until we left. We roamed a lot, so we ran into her more than a few times. Every time we did, she was smiling, helping someone with something and being upbeat. I'd also like to say thank you to Adrienne, our go-to person at the concession stand by section 102. Like Sheila, she was warm, kind and just a very nice person. She happens to know Detroit very well so we had a great conversation about traveling around Michigan as kids. The show itself had a surprising amount of production issues, which I've never seen at a Weird Al concert. Miscued backdrop videos and delayed audio triggers happened a few times through the show, which was just odd to see. Al is a pro though, so he pushed through them without missing a beat or complaining to the crowd about it. I've included photos of us with the workers I shouted out along with a photo of Lauren talking to Weird Al after the show. If you go to the original post in our Facebook group, you'll also see a few long video clips of the opening of the show because I always love how he starts the show from backstage. Another great experience from Weird Al is in the books. Now we have to wait for Tallahassee in September before we see him again. I would recommend booking ahead of time, especially if you are doing a weekend. We came in on a Friday and I tried to book a Friday or Saturday tour and they normally have 2 or 3 tours, 5 pm, 7 pm or 9 pm. The 5:00 tour is not candlelight so initially that was all available. I tried to get added to a later tour but they can't exceed a certain number. I paid for the 5:00 and at the last minute they had a cancellation on the later tours, so I got the 9:00 and it was perfect. Make sure you can be on your feet for an hour and a half and wear good shoes!! It was fun and I would recommend it highly!!

We had never done a 'haunted' tour in a city and this was a lot of fun!…read moreWe called the tour office early and then met our guide in front of the Moon River Brewing Company. She was dressed in colonial period costume and actually had a rich family history in the area. We grabbed a beer inside and headed up to the second floor of Moon River, which is supposedly very, very haunted. People being hit by objects, power tools switching on by themselves, and other stuff. Anyway, we went to two other pubs and then a haunted square where and indian chief is buried and then on over to the 1790 restaurant for a one of the best Planter's Punch drinks I've ever had. All in all, a really good time. The guide was very knowledgable and was full of fun facts and great stories! This is a must do for adults in Savannah. Really a neat experience. So glad we did this.
