The grounds were quite pleasant, but I was surprised that many of the water features were not running or seemed not well maintained and rather sludgy. The place is named as a set of gardens, but I didn't see a ton of interesting plant life either. Nonetheless, it was a nice area, and it is free.

The course starts out with no direction or signs, but after you get to the lakeside holes it becomes pretty obvious. Honestly though, unless you're extremely accurate on every shot, you can't play all 18 holes. There are a couple that run along side the lake, with baskets literally on peninsulas feet away from the water's edge. I've lost a couple here attempting to play these holes for the sake of completeness. There is a scuba diver that goes into the lake and retrieves these - if you manage to catch him he'll grab your disc for you if he can find it. He'll call your number if it is legibly written on the disc. I believe he also sells them - he's got loads organized by area code, apparently for a name-your-price type of arrangement. Nice guy.

Overall...a decent park that feels squeezed. Better for experienced players…read more Concrete pads and satisfactory signage. The entire length of the course is placed in between a neighborhood road and Lake Olmstead. There is also a paved walking trail that follows the same path as the course. So, accuracy is a must, or else you WILL lose some discs in the drink, or to a car run-over, or hit someone. Care must be taken to watch for walker/runners using the trail. Given those concerns, this course is probably better suited for more seasoned players who know how to control their hyzer. The course features are Lake Olmstead (obviously), a good mix of distance drives, tree hazards, and some interesting elevation challenges. There is a restroom attached to a barbecue pit building, located about halfway through the first 9 holes. But it's not cleaned regularly so beware. There are also very few trash bins along the course, so dispose of any trash before hand. Holes 1 and 2 are on some kind of practice field, so they may actually be unavailable at certain times. It also has a small playset for younger children. It is also located by a little creek. They have been doing a lot of remodeling & renovating during the past year. You can visibly see where they use their funds to make improvements. The park is well kept. You can rent/reserve fields for games or practices. It is also very community friendly as they usually allow different groups to hold events there. I've seen the concession stand open sometimes when there were soccer games, there is an annual Easter Egg hunt there, the North Augusta rock group held a swap there, and many families like to hold birthday parties there. During the off season, sometimes the softball fields aren't always completely kept up. One or two of the fields may be missing bases or a pitching rubber, but another field usually will have it. It is still a great place to go.

I booked this gem on Air bnb. This was an excellent and very comfortable hotel option while we were visiting the Augusta, GA area last weekend. This boathouse lodging is situated conveniently on the Augusta marina, so there was no parking issues. The reservation process was very easy, and we had no issues communicating with the owner all through our visit. This houseboat was an older vessel, that was restored and could easily be enough space for 4 adults. On our visit we just had 2 adults, so the full size bed was more than comfortable. They also have two two size bunkbeds that could be used for kids or other adults. This houseboat was very, very cozy and comfortable. It had direct TV and all the other options (microwave, refrigerator, stove, everything a normal hotel would have. Our hostess was very friendly and added special amenities to ensure we had a great experience. Lots to do in walking distance, make sure you go downtown for some great restaurants.

This is one of the few places open currently from the COVID closures that has beach access on the…read morelake. It costs $3 for entrance with a car. Today it was extremely crowded. We were able to find a nook to keep our distance from people but some people were just inconsiderate and frankly dumb. There was a fowl smell near the swimming area, I don't know what it was exactly. The water is a bit murky. They do have grills to access. You can rent campsites here. They have restrooms. The ice cream truck came through. They have a boat ramp, fishing spots, a frisbee golf course, hiking and horse riding trails and just a lot to do.
