SavATree claims they reached out to us after the judgment. This did not happen. Full stop. Despite several emails we sent to them after the judgment we heard NOTHING from them. Even when we contacted them to notify them we were no longer going to use their business we were greeted with silence. Their lack of concern about the financial judgment against US in court that involved THEIR work was part of the reason we ceased using their services. read more

Just wanted to give a special shoutout to the tree trimming crew that came to our home last week to prune our twisted and gnarled maple tree in our backyard. I have to say the work that they did on our 30 yr. old 50 ft Maple tree was nothing short of amazing. The tree has never looked so good. It REALLY needed a good "haircut" and the SavATree crew did just that. They were meticulous and methodical in their work. My wife and I were outside last night looking up inside the tree. With the up lighting we had installed several years ago showing the magnificence of the inside of the tree was breathtaking. We couldn't be more pleased with the work. I got Dave's name from a list of certified arborists that I in turn got from the Penn State extension service. I called him to get a complimentary consultation on my 22-year-old weeping cherry tree that showed signed of stress and sickness. Dave gave me excellent, expert advice. (Like the company name suggests they want to save trees.) What I really appreciated was Dave's willingness to give me many courses of action to help the tree some of which would not add a penny to his pocket. In other words, unlike many in the business he didn't come over to sell me something I didn't need. Really wish I could give 0 stars. Possibly the worst company I have dealt with in my life. Took my deposit and took 6 months to come out, had to threaten to cancel the service and get my money back because they would never answer or get back to me, wish I had just cancelled because the worst was yet to come. Crew finally came out, arborist was supposed to be there to go over everything and didn't show up for two hours, Peco didnt show and had to be called. Crew that came out made a deal to cut neighbors tree under the table and when they arrived at house gave me a card for his seperate tree company and said if we need more work he'll do it cheaper, completely unprofessional. Peco was annoyed and only left power off for 3 hours because the crew worked for an hour and a half then took an hour and a half lunch break. Crew then came back worked, cleaned up then I saw them cutting neighbors tree, went out back to see work they did and they did less than half of what was asked of them to do, I had to go over to neighbor to yell at them to come back which they responded let us finish up here, I had to go over and yell 3 times before they came back, so I paid for the trucks to come out to do neighbors tree. They came back did more work left and it still wasn't finished. Took another three weeks to get them to come back out which was tough again because they didn't answer. When they came back out the work order wasn't even for all that needed to be completed they sent one person with the wrong equipment, he cleaned up some more of the trees but because he didn't have the right equipment he couldn't do all that was needed. Just done with this company and moving on to get someone to finish the job. Whatever you do do not use this company, they are a disgrace and joke. read more

I really hate to write bad reviews about a business. This is a mixed review, as the arborist and tree team were very good. The negative to this business is the billing side. First part of billing was an email, but I had to create an account to get the invoice. Payment options to either give a credit card number or.... here is the clincher... give them access to your checking account. Like hell would I do that!. Had to call and get a mailing address and zip. That location did not have a post mail box, so the check was returned to me eventually and I had already cancelled payment with the bank. Part two of the agreed service happened and I never received an invoice. When I finally realized that and looked it up, there was a finance charge added. Called the local office to state my story and finance charge was removed. THEN I had to look up the business on Facebook to get a mailing address, but there was no zip code! What is going on with this business? Never again will I use SavATree. read more

DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT HIRING THIS COMPANY. YOU MIGHT END UP IN A LAWSUIT! SavATree of Delaware is the worst tree service I've ever had the misfortune of having to deal with in my life and you should really think hard about hiring them as they are staffed by people that really don't know what they are doing. SavATree, an oxymoron, was hired to cut down every tree on the lot next to my family's home, which they did, but while doing the work they were hired to do, they "accidently" cut down numerous trees on my property, some of which were irreplaceable old growth 80 year old trees, even though the lots were very clearly marked and staked just a few feet away from where they did the clear cutting. The company has been unresponsive since this occurred a few months ago and sadly my attorney has indicated we are likely going to have to go to court and name SavATree, as well as the owner of the property that hired them in a lawsuit. My suggestion is stay away. Better to use a company that understands property boundry and survey markers and understands the legal repercussions of sloppy work. read more

Alison Pottage is wonderful --- knows her stuff and available to chat when needed. Last October when our HUGE oak fell across our lawn she was there BEFORE the police and and PICO. Cleared what they could quickly so that we could access our hose and the rest was cleared later and competently. wooow I used Save a Tree for my property and was satisfied. Then my neighbor had to use them because PECO needed to access the electric lines. My neighbors weren't home and PECO was waiting for SAVATREE to show up and when they did they pulled up IN front of my house and proceeded to unload their giant cherry picker onto my lawn crushing my lawn and walkway trim hostas! I ran out the door when I heard the noise and yelled over the noise what are you doing the workers didn't speak English but the white guy with red hair and beard did, He apologized and said they had the wrong house. What the @#@$@ you should have knocked on my door to let me know! I just called to inquire about Lou Giroud Tree Service, Inc.Huntington Valley take over and told the same story and said I was not happy and she said sorry to hear this Have a nice day. I have used SavATree for many years. Alison, the arborist, is extremely knowledgeable and easy to talk to. She spends time getting to know the client and the property. I wish I had used SavATree a few years ago when I had a "cheaper" company trim my beech tree - they cut off so much that it started to go into a decline and die. Alison knew that beech trees don't like too much sun, and was probably the cause of the tree's demise. I will only trust SavATree with my trees from now on. I have had no issue with scheduling. DO NOT HIRE!!!!!! I was told tree work would be done Nov/Dec. 2016. I had to call and leave a message that it was FEBRUARY and where the he##was the work with $1,000 deposit. FINALLY scheduled a date, and though the laborers worked for hours, the woman in charge (not there) told me to pay another $100 for a bush with not even seeing it. And that's not all!! She told me she'd cut a large tree back from the corner stop sign. Didn't do it. My husband emailed her while she was DEMANDING balance to be paid. He said finish the job!! Finally another worker came out to correct THEIR mistake. Does she call to apologize?? NO! She emailed a discourteous note to pay the balance. The worker had apologized for HER mistake. Savatree came through on a difficult tree removal when no other companies would. They came out multiple times to plan the difficult removal and went the extra mile protecting our property by erecting a canopy over a glass sunroom. Savatree was on time, professional, and cleaned up afterwards- leaving us in far better shape than before the tree removal. The fact that they took such care planning the safe removal brought them in at budget, and faster than expected. We have relied on Savatree in the past for expert tree and plant knowledge, treating problems with trees and shrubbery that would have otherwise perished due to fungal infections, infestations and difficult conditions for particular plants. This time they came through when no one else would - demonstrating their care for us as customers and our trees. I cannot speak highly enough about our experience and would recommend them for maintenance, expertise and really any need having to do with trees and shrubs. read more

A detailed estimate was performed and the work was conducted as contracted. They made every effort to maintain the landscape trees and the work done was professional. Higher end cost, but with tree cabling and tying tree trunks together with bolts being involved, it was worth it to me. read more

Competent arborists..billing and scheduling is messed up..looking for another company

The company responded to my request for services promptly. Sent Martin Lynch right away who diagnosed my tree trimming and spraying/fertilizing needs immediately. Prepared his service notes on his ipad before he left our home. Had his excellent crew out way within two weeks after returning to his office. The three man crew of experienced tree trimmers (many years among them) listened to our concerns and did what Martin listed plus modified the job based on my on the spot input. They cleaned up all the mess and chipped the big limbs that day. Took them about 4 hours for a job another company told me would take two days. They are quality. Not cheap but getting a great job done in 1/4 the time of other estimate was a blessing. They will return for the remaining plant care soon. Billing efficient and accurate. This appears to be a chain but the Mainline office is the one we used and recommend them highly. read more
