They did a great job. Started with Stuart Prince who is a certified Arborist who assessed the condition of my 30+ year old Japanese maple. He explained what was going on and offered a few options with an assessment of how likely they would be to save the tree. Unfortunately the high heat and dry weather stressed this tree enough to attract Ambrosia beetles. They had infested the tree. It was only a matter of weeks before it completely died. Decided to have them remove the tree and grind the stump. Stuart gave me a quote immediately and was able to have a team out the next day. Guys show up a little early, super professional. Got the job done and cleaned up in abounds hour. If the tree can be saved they will. If not, they can remove it before it becomes a problem. Highly recommended. read more

This review started out to be a two star. I wait to post it because I wanted to give the company a chance to realize what I was disappointed in before I posted the review. Always a practice of mine is to give the company a chance to fix it before I finalize my review. My weeping Chair to had caught a disease and was dying. The arborist Cory came out to diagnose that it was probably during a time when it was cold and then hot and one of the branches may have caught an infection. He recommended several treatments to help with its health, and give the tree a better chance of survival. I agreed and the first treatment was scheduled. The first person that came out was not focused because he treated the wrong tree and treated some bushes that weren't really part of the treatment plan. When I called the company, they explained to me that they had communication problems and the scheduler was different from the office doing the evaluation I also have a yard alarm in which I reinforced over and over again in Cory put in his notes that I need to be notified before the technician came out to treat my yard because I had to turn off the alarm before it called the police. The first treatment person did not do this because he did not read the notes that Cory had made in the work order I've been called out of my office to deal with the police, possibly coming out to my house because the alarm had been triggered Upon calling the office, Alex had apologized and said that the person did not read the notes. A follow up retreat was performed today by Matt a very experienced technician. I was very pleased with his knowledge and expert treatment of my tree! I have several treatments to go, so this review will probably be updated periodically. read more

Highlight: Didn't do work properly; renewed without permission; delayed response long enough to add late fees rather than make something right. Details: I signed up for borer treatments three times: spring, summer and fall for one year only. They auto renewed without my consent but I went along with it due to inertia and "maybe it still needs it" First year they decided to be more aggressive and due them all in short order. Then for years they never changed the schedule to what it was supposed to be. When I figured this out and asked about billings so close together they acknowledged they have been doing it wrong for years and would talk about what they could do with the billing. Their solutions was to follow up in a resolution email with invoices that now had late fees from their inaction for a month. read more

These jokers signed me up for a scammy subscription service without ever proposing it to me or negotiating anything. They think it's ok to just show up and do work nobody ever asked for, then think I'll pay their bills. Of course, that's not how this works. Their truck took out my ATT internet and they denied hitting the cable and went so far as to wrap the ends around the utilities pole on one end and put the other end in our driveway. I even contacted their service number and they sent a manager out who denied it. I had internet they had their truck parked outside underneath our ATT cable. They moved the truck to start the project in our cul de sac and we lost internet. When I went outside they denied it and the cables had been relocated to hide what had happened. read more

Incompetent lawn care service followed by even worse customer service. I prepaid for a tree and lawn service in the spring of 2021. In the fall of 2021 I come to find out that the diagnosis of my grass type that was done in the spring was wrong. I realized this when I saw different looking shoots coming up after my lawn was top seeded in the fall. I end up getting confirmation that they had identified my lawn as fescue when it's really centipede. After doing some research on my own, these two types of grass look completely different. How a lawn specialist can make this mistake is mind-boggling. When the lawn specialist came back out, he admitted it was their fault that I'm not to worry because they would make it right. Specifically saying that they would come back in the spring and re-seed with the proper seed type and that in the meantime, they could come back and spray to kill off the fescue, which they did (spray fescue). When I recently contacted them to confirm what the plan is for the proper re-seed this spring, I was advised that this couldn't be done because they don't carry centipede seed. After a little bit of back and forth they finally came back with their offer. They said that they would get the centipede seed and re-seed the lawn "on their own dime" but only if I committed to another year of servicing. They were also quick to remind me that they came back and killed off the fescue "on their own dime" as well. So in the end, their make good to me was that they would cover the costs to correct their own mistakes but only if I committed to another $1,000+ for servicing this season. All while, on the terms and conditions document one of the terms is: "YOUR SATISFACTION IS IMPORTANT - Should our service fall short of your expectations, please contact us immediately and we will do everything we can to make it right". read more

Initial consultation with ISA certified arborist, Dave was beyond what I hoped for today. SavATree in their mailed brochure offered "complimentary property consultation." I called this morning and there was an appointment available for this afternoon. Score! Dave arrived within the 2 hour window and spent a good amount of time identifying the good, bad, ugly and beautiful in my yard by name. I am new to owning a yard and a very amiable Dave provided more than I expected by giving me the names and conditions of each tree, shrub, flowering weed, and snake-harboring bush around our half-acre yard. He offered time for my husband and I to think about the services he explained. These are not lawn-mowing people. It seems at first take that they take care of the longevity of the living bits of creation in the yard. I appreciated Dave's time and expertise. We hired SavATree 8/2019 to trim trees around our house. They upsold is on lawn maintenance as well. Their first step in front lawn fescue restoration was a deep cutting and reseeding plan. Unfortunately our lawn went from mediocre to totally dead after this and did not grow back after the seeding. I asked them to plant some simple rye grass to prevent erosion over the winter, they agreed, but that did not grow either. During spring lockdown they sent soil samples and said nothing looks out of ordinary. They had guys coming every month or 6 weeks to treat the lawn and shrubs and we kept hounding them about the lawn. I suggested we just bring in new topsoil and sod and they assured us they were on it. Now this fall we have been reseeded again, and are getting some green sprouts. It's still not able to be walked on or raked without tearing it up but at least it's looking green -13 months later. I will keep this thread updated as the grass growth continues. (Yes we have a good sprinkler system etc). So far no one has done as well for the lawn as just over seeding often and using whatever fertilizer or pre emergent is recommended at hone depot, despite how much I pay monthly. read more

I just feel I need to post a quick PSA to save others some heartache. There are plenty of good tree services in Atlanta. This isn't one of them. We hired them to remove a dead tree from our property that our arborist recommended we take down. We ended up with holes in our roof (which has a 50 year warranty, attesting to its stability), our neighbor's roof, and a severed electric fence. We paid the bill in full prior to fixing the damage under the threat of their placing a lien on our home. The whole experience was a massive headache. Save yourself some grief. read more

I haven' t used them for tree work, but they also deliver and install hardwood mulch (yep, it's those same trees people pay them to grind up - smart business model). Homeowner tip - if you have a lot of area to cover, buying it in bulk is actually cheaper than hauling home bags from the store to do it yourself. The office staff was kind, helpful and efficient when I called for a quote and with follow up questions. Price beat two other landscape service quotes. They came out on the scheduled day, right on time, with a truck of pretty brown dyed hardwood mulch. The crew leader was great. Friendly, cheerful, conscientious. Even made sure to ask about any dogs possibly escaping before he opened my backyard gate. And when they left, everything was perfectly neat and clean. Not a single stray scrap of mulch out of its appointed place. It looks so good, I'm kind of afraid to walk on it now. Will happily call them again. read more

I called them on 8-6 and was given an appointment for 8-8. When I called the morning of 8-8 to confirm my appointment and verify the time they had no record of my appointment. The gentleman on the phone kept asking questions, seemingly searching for my information. He located my wife's name, which I never gave, and an address I've never heard of. He was very short and rude. He finally asked if he could do some research and call back in 5 minutes. After 45 minutes I called him back only to get more attitude. I decided that there are other companies that want my business. Their office staff needs work. Update 8-14. I just received a response from the office manager, who was beyond apologetic. I have made another appointment for Friday around noon to get a quote. Update 8-19. Stuart came out to take a look at my trees. He is excellent. He is professional and attentive combined with honest and candid. We talked through the entire process, including potential hiccups and how they would be addressed. I see why he is highly recommended. We have decided to go a different route, but I can honestly say that I will keep these guys in mind should I have a need in the future. read more

The arborist who came out to the house was very knowledgeable and wasn't all about cutting down our 175 year old oak, but there was a large branch that had fallen and we wanted one other branch removed to get more sun in the back yard. The arborist made a recommendation on where to make the cut so it wouldn't damage the tree. The guys who came out to do the cutting, arrived on time, were very polite and answered any questions I had. They cleaned up perfectly after they finished, I'm very happy with their work. read more

I had my work done and prior I received three estimates. This place was the most competitive. When they arrived, they were true to their word. Everything they said they did. No issues or problems. In fact, later I received a letter from them giving me a check back for some of the money for their work that I paid them. What kind of company does excellent service and hands you a check back based on the work order and estimate. Just had a tree removed in a tricky location... it was leaning way over a neighbor's outbuilding and a fancy garden gate. 404CutTree arrived when they said they would and took care of it quickly, not a limb landed where it shouldn't, good job. The houses are very close together in Grant Park where I live, and I hated to cut down a pecan tree that was just beginning to bear, but it had to be done. To top it off, they gave me some of the shavings and sawdust to put in my compost pile. Bottom line wasn't bad either. I had called around because I needed a larger company to cut down a huge pine tree. Some others said they couldn't do it. Some men had started cutting the tree at the base and it was tipping the wrong way. All I needed was for some professionals that could tip it backwards. I have a huge backyard and don't need it chopped down piece by piece. I only need it to fall. 404 Cut Tree came and said it was almost impossible to make it tip over. He said there was a 70% chance that it'll hit my house or another house and put a lot of pressure on me to go with them, saying that if I call others, they'll refer them to 404 anyways. He said I needed a huge crane and because it was a Saturday, it'll be more expensive. He quoted 5k-10k! Then he said he could do it for 6k. If I didn't do it right then, then the price will increase significantly on Sunday. He was using all the high pressure tactics possible! I said no thank you and continued looking. Eventually, some others came and did it for less than $1000. All they needed was stronger rope and some pulleys to make it tip over in the right direction. And 404 Cut Tree was pressuring me to use a huge crane and spend $6,000? Rip off! Be careful! read more

They agreed to do the job when other companies refused due to the difficulty. They did a beautiful job without damaging anything surrounding the tree and hauled off all the debris. read more

They had to cut across my backyard which has sodded grass and landscaping that we have spend lots of money on (my husband was so nervous it would be damaged). The crew took the utmost care laying plywood and carefully maneuvering around with the machinery. We couldn't even tell they had put heavy equipment across it all day! Even my husband commented that the backyard looked cleaner than it did before they started. He blamed the city for not getting permits and told me to complain to them. Next he rescheduled my appointment for 5 weeks out. This company destroyed half my front yard when cutting down a tree, removing its stump and above ground roots. So with their cost of about $1200.00 and the need to replace sod, using 404-cost me approximately $3,000.00. I complained to Ben, PM, who told me there was nothing they could do to assist me, they were sorry. I even received a second bill for the same service for 300.00 less than what I paid. No explanation was given for this price difference. I will never use this company again, nor would I recommend them to anyone. read more

I had called several tree removal services to get quotes. 404 Cut Tree was the first to call me back and was the first to set-up an appointment. The owner came out and was very knowledgeable. He gave me a quote on the spot and we shook hands on the deal. The removal crew of 3 guys showed up the next morning. Since the trees were in my backyard they laid down plywood for the tractor that was taking the cut pieces to the road to avoid ruining my grass. I went to work and came home and the job was complete with all of the pieces stacked up. Next day a truck came out and hauled them away. Excellent service, great prices and friendly staff.
