Found them through the American Heart Association website. they have website and that contains up to date information on the different times and classes they offer. I ended up going with them because they have a class almost everyday. Registration was a piece of cake. Currently classes are held at one of the instructor's home and you enter you have this awkward feeling but have to remind yourself that it's legit because they were on the American Heart Association. My instructor said that they will be moving to a different location soon. I took the BLS course. Theres some paper work you feel out and one is a reminder postcard to yourself to renew your CPR. Because they offer tons of classes, chances are your class size will be small which allows for more learning at your own pace. For the session I registered at, there was only 1 other person. I don't know if it was just the instructor, because their are multiple instructors, but I felt I didn't learn as much as I could (but then again I wasn't feeling so well) as we pretty much skimmed the course into 1.5 hours. Luckily I have the CPR manual most classes make you purchase. read more

Being an RN I have gone to several different companies to get updated over the years, but when I discovered Save A Life CPR for my Healthcare Provider CPR/AED, I never looked elsewhere. I arrived on time to my appointment on Friday, 9am and fortunately I was the only person for that morning. Marianne is a retired nurse that greeted me upon arrival and was the instructor for that day. The center is actually a very small yet cozy place with comfortable couches facing a flat screen TV for the video presentations and plenty of room for practice with the practice dolls. I registered for the course online ($50 for class + $15 for book if you do not have one) with the class taking no more than 1.5 hours. My CPR certification card was furnished to me at the end of the course but only after I correctly answered 24 multiple choice questions. I absolutely loved the fact that I was the only student for that morning because it only meant that I finished faster. Had there been other people, the process would have taken more time since there are many times in the video prompt to switch to let others try a certain technique. I liked this class because it ran smoothly, was organized, was prompt and efficient. I would definitely recommend this place to others. read more

Everyone hates renewing their BLSand like everyone else, I needed my BLS renewal quickly and my usual places were out for the week/had full classes. Looking around on Yelp, Save A Life was the only place offering classes (everywhere else was full) so it was my only option. There are several things I liked and I didn't like. What I liked: 1. Small class sizes 2. Equipment was in great shape 3. Easy to sign up and pay for classes What I didn't like: 1. Instructor only showed the video and barely talked. He probably said less than 50 sentences the whole time. It made me question his competency in performing BLS and how experienced he actually was. He was not engaging and I was bored out of my mind the whole time. 2. Instructor went through the practices according to the video. There was no actual practice outside of the video. I am competent with my skills as a healthcare provider, but you never know about the other people in the class because we never had a practice session without the video. There was no "mock code" situation or similar to test skills or even just a return demonstration to be marked off on. 4. The way they administer testing at the end. Test was a breeze considering how many times I've taken it. I feel that other people in the group may need to take their time with the test to understand why the answers are what they are. 5. They made me buy the book, even if I already had one at home. It remained unopened and now I'm short $20 and with a book that I will never use. 6. You can get your certification without knowing how to do CPR... ****If you are someone who is taking this class for the first time, please please PLEASE take it somewhere else. You will not learn anything. The video is boring and won't teach you the skills you need. I do not recommend this place if you are brand new. If you are experienced, this is a breeze. There's just the dreaded renewal and time that you have to spend doing it. read more
