I've been coming to Grace for my ACLS BLS for over 6 years now. Her classes are stress free, super informative and not boring (unlike Flex Ed, no offense.) I've been to several different places to get CPR training as a requirement for my job. It was always just part of a checklist of requirements I needed to complete, and my takeaway was always "In the case of an emergency, no one will want ME to do CPR on them. No CPR is better than from me." Graciela changed my perspective on CPR. She makes it very functional so instead of memorizing a list of facts and numbers, she explains WHY we do things a certain way. It made every detail make so much sense, and I left feeling fully competent at CPR. Now I can see the importance and benefit of being CPR certified, and I think it was well worth the money I paid for this training. I'm even contemplating buying some additional things to add to my first aid kit. The price here is very reasonable compared to some other places in the area that I looked up. And Graciela kept everything sanitized and clean. She even provided a small bag of snacks and water during the longer lecture portion of the training. An amazing class with amazing instructors. I have now completed two classes here, and I feel very confident in my skills. I first took the CPR class with Jose. He was very nice, making sure to check in with us, asking if we had any questions. After watching videos, we did hands on training with manikins. Continually checking in, I felt good about leaving the class after training with Jose. The second class I took here was a BLS course with Gracie. She is a very informative teacher and very clear. She offers great feedback and support as an instructor. After leaving this class, combined with Jose's teaching, I feel extremely confident in my skills now. I found this little gem online while googling CPR classes. Not only are they very nice but for BLS they have a very convenient way of doing the majority of the course online. Let's talk about learning for a bit. Learning a new skill shouldn't be nerve-wrecking. As an RN who, by nature, teaches, precepts, mentors, etc, I firmly believe in fostering learning environments that promotes curiosity and collaboration. It's tough to ask questions and be engaged in learning if you're intimidated by your environment. This is why I was fortunate to take PALS at His Grace CPR with a great instructor like Gracie. I've had some less-than-ideal instructors in the past, but I found Gracie to be not only approachable and friendly, but also an extremely knowledgeable and experienced clinician. It was my first time taking PALS, and I found her lectures to be memorable and easy to understand. I'm not someone who routinely works with a pediatric population, so I'm glad I was able to learn PALS in a way that will stick with me! The facility is a comfortable, clean, and home-y space in Whittier, with ample free street parking, and there is a bathroom available on-site. There's also lots of space in the back to get more hands-on experience (which we all need). Gracie was also nice enough to provide water and snacks to the people in our class.
