I live in Los Angeles, where I've done over 30 escape rooms - it's become quite the expensive hobby. I'm back home for the holidays and was excited to introduce a group of Milwaukee friends to my new obsession. I gotta say, this room was a very pleasant surprise. While the look of the room was a little bland, the puzzles were for the most part excellent. It's rare I run into a puzzle that's totally new to me, and this room had two memorable standouts. Great use of technology, including puzzles that require physical teamwork (the best kind). The owner/operator was a friendly, quirky gentleman who enthusiastically brought us into the story of the room. We had a chance to chat with him afterwards and his next room, The Election, sounds fantastic - wish I was going to be around when it opens! My only gripe about this place was that we found it too easy - we broke the record and escaped in about 25 minutes. That was probably due to having a couple veterans on the team. If this is one of your first rooms (and seeing as I've only found 6 in Milwaukee, it probably is!), I absolutely recommend it. Good times! read more

This was my second time doing an escape room but first time with Save Milwaukee. What I liked about Save Milwaukee is that they give you a scenario which seems to create more urgency and also a reason (aside from just getting out of the room) to crack the codes. There were 6 of us total celebrating a friend's birthday. As soon as we entered the room we set about our task. We received periodic updates to the scenario and I won't say much more as to not spoil the game for others. We got out with ten seconds to spare!! I'm 2 for 2 on getting out of escape rooms. Only odd thing was they suggested we create agent names and we wrote them on our sheets but they never came to play. Perhaps that was up to us to embrace more. They have two rooms and I'm looking forward to trying out the 2nd room! read more

A fun, new activity to try in Milwaukee! I will be honest, riddles and puzzles are not my strongest/favorite area, but thankfully I had a smarty pants group with me and we completed the challenge! Great for a group of friends, team bonding for work, or showing out of town guests a good time! 4 out of 5 stars because I think the beginning and end of the experience could be improved and the temperature in the room was uncomfortable with 6 people. Otherwise I could definitely make this challenge a yearly tradition! read more

These were solid escape rooms, with fair puzzles and a minimum of mindlessly looking around for hidden keys (I hate that). But what really makes these special is Schlomo, who not only manages the place, but also embodies amazing characters that make the rooms seem like full-on adventures. So it's as much immersive theater as puzzle room, and it's a total blast. read more

When my friends and I decided to try out an escape room, there were three different places to choose from in the area. I admit I contacted all three-Save Milwaukee was the one that was easiest to schedule with and the only one I heard back from in a timely manner. Save Milwaukee is locally run and conveniently located in the 3rd Ward. The staff (owner?) who greeted us and explained everything was very friendly and the task of working together to solve the room was challenging enough, but not TOO challenging as to get us discouraged! Save Milwaukee runs some specials on tickets occasionally, which makes it even more affordable. We are very excited to return and do the next puzzle! read more

This was a very fun and different way to have a night out with friends. We did the tailgate room. We were all amazed at the detail that was given to each clue - at the way that the game was set up to increase the sense of urgency as time passed. Some clues are harder to crack than others so it turned out that everyone in our group of 6 contributed in some way. It was so exciting when we got something right! I think we all bonded by doing this activity together. To be honest, I can't stop thinking about how fun it was and I definitely plan on coming back with some colleagues of mind to do the other room! The staff was so welcoming as well (even if they refused to break character!). They allowed us to wait for a friend to arrive before starting and to hang out afterwords. The room is located in an area with many restaurants and bars - so next time I plan on going out afterwords to celebrate our success (we didn't solve it this time - came close though). read more

The first escape room we ever did was the Device, (and we did the Tailgate when it was Rig the Election), and in total we've done about 15 room.  Save MKE still ranks in our favorites.  They make a really concerted effort to stay away from "lock-ception" type puzzles and always have a variety of interesting physical  puzzles.  The room design for McSnooty's is such that there's very little bottle necking in the puzzles, and unlike some other rooms that have catered to large groups, this one felt as though there was enough space and tasks for everyone in a group to have a piece to work on.   The game master are good about giving clues only when necessary but still making sure you don't feel stuck.   Hope that they continue to grow and make new rooms! read more

Overall I thought that Save MKE did a nice job. We did the"Doctor Dangerfield's Device" challenge. All of our group (7) were new to this with the exception of one person. We just missed getting it by the deadline. They added more theatrics than others, which makes it more fun. I'd definitely go again and I definitely think that with an experience under our belt we'd get it by the deadline. Overall, good job! read more

We were looking for something fun to do with the whole family over winter break and this was perfect. This was our first escape room and we had a blast! Shlomo was very convincing as he set the stage for "Dr. Dangerfields Device" challenge. Clues were provided as needed and kept us from getting too frustrated. Shlomo was great with our kids and answered their many questions at the end. We had six people in our group which was perfect. Everyone was able to play a part and even though we were not successful in saving Milwaukee (Sorry Milwaukee), we had a great time. Our kids are hooked and we look forward to coming back and trying the next room. read more
