Surprisingly large underground supermarket inside this office complex. Free parking is available underground (P2). This lot has to have the weirdest layout in town. It looks like they mashed 3 separate adjacent parkades together, seeing as how one has to go down to P3 then back up to P2 to get to this area. I can't even describe how to leave, other than that the Rosser exit is accessed by going UP and the Lougheed exit is accessed by going DOWN. Once inside, the area looks pretty clean and modern. Very different from the 1990s orange/blue look. Guess I've been living in the past. Pricing is fairly decent, with plenty of discounts. The discounts require a More card. Another thing to stick into my wallet, since there's no app as of the time of writing, which honestly sucks. Layout is fairly intuitive. Samples are no longer available thanks to a certain coronavirus. Definitely a good option for groceries other than that overpriced Whole Foods across the street. read more

Great location ( Downstairs at Madison Centre in Burnaby ) It's big, bright, and clean. Excellent selection, fresh produce and a bakery that smells amazing. Speaking of the bakery/ deli section - they have a huge display of wraps & tortillas. All sizes and varieties. Big bulk food isle as well that is currently open. They have free parking and carts are only a quarter deposit. Prices are quite good. Way better then my Downtown market options -which have half the selection with nearly double the cost. Be sure to get your Save-On-More card to get the lower prices (as per signage on applicable products) Self check out is a breeze and you're on your way ! read more

This is a review for the Starbucks located in Save on Foods in Madison Square. The service is terrible, and there is absolutely zero accountability. There's a server who is painstakingly slow, and cannot manage the order of customers. They keep on using the excuse that's she is "new," but she's been working there for over two months now. I was waiting 20 minutes for a cold brew. She took forever to finish two drinks ahead of mine, and then her coworker came back from a break, and proceeded to make and complete 3 orders after mine! It was absolutely mind boggling. I just waited for her to finish my drink then told them it was unacceptable. Then her coworker just brushed me off with "I'm sorry, she's new, okay!" No, it's not "okay" and she's NOT new (Ela is her name btw). I ordered a coffee from her in early December. She was still excruciatingly slow, but not this bad to have 3 people's drinks after mine already finished while she's still trying to figure out a cold brew! This Starbucks has changed employees multiple times. Save on Foods needs to remove this Starbucks from their store. It's beyond terrible! I have been going there for years, and will never order or shop at this Save On location again. There's a great little independent coffee shop upstairs, I would highly recommend! Save on sells parchment paper that burns at 350F be careful everyone! The western family packaging said ok to bake up till 425F but I decided To be safe and yet, I almost burnt the entire house. And left with 11pm cleaning broken glass and bleeding feet which caused me to have trouble driving for the next 10 days. Manager of the store simply said sorry and provided me the refund for the parchment paper, since I had my receipt and all. read more

One of my favorite grocery stores, especially this location. Close to Brentwood Mall, this one stills has that bright new feel. Whenever I am here I always notice the front display, and it is always a design built with a 12 pack of pop! The people here are very helpful, as when you are at the deli, if you are questioning something, they will give you some nice samples, especially at the cheese isle. You can literally, if you choose to do so, get full from sampling products. The fresh breads they have here always smell good. And I love their cakes, as I never was a fan of supermarket cakes, until one of my coworkers brought one in for her own birthday. The cake selection at all Save-On locations is great, and that alone would be one of the reasons I come back, and when you add in the cheese and meat selection, I'll come back. The produce here is very nice as well. As they do take time to make everything very presentable. When I bring my gf here, I don't escape this supermarket till 1.5 hrs later! read more

Apparently Save On's leaves all the peel on the kiwi on their cakes, which is what the bakery staff told me after I reported this to her. She also told me that I had given her the incorrect spelling for the cake that I had ordered, after she had spelled my son's name wrong on the cake. Not sure how this Save On Foods got the "Store of the Year" award. There were some issues they needed to work out. There are no seating areas for people who want to eat the food from the deli inside the store as tables and chairs were only available outside. Not a big deal, except the tables as well as the garbage cans were filthy. Garbage was spilling out and flies were having a party out there. I ordered the roast chicken and fries at the deli and just a note that the staff should take more care of getting the food for you. My fries were all squished from her using the tongs to scoop the fries. My Greek salad had 1 tomato and full of onions. Maybe they don't care about the little things, but it's the little attention to detail that make a store great. I also sent in a comment to the store, but they never replied. I honestly just wanted them to say, OK thanks, we will keep that in mind. Just something to acknowledge the customers. read more

Deli service slow and inefficient. Waited for panini to be pressed was told another was going to help, then told another, then got to the third deli worker to take 30 seconds to put it in a connection oven for three minutes (panini press was broken apparently.) Its a great location serving the local housing in the area. Especially new Condos being built as this area being developed. I do come here once in awhile depending if there are deals at Save on Foods. This Save On is located in underground. So its pretty dark. As well, its not super busy here. Parking is ok. There are lots of parking but close by parking is somewhat limited to say 40 spots. But like I said its never that busy here so its all good. read more

It's like a trip down memory lane, except brighter and bigger than I remember it. In need of some quick bites to bring to a party I navigated my way into the always hellish parking lot at Pinetree Village and steered into a cramped stall. Breezing past the Starbucks into the cool, fluorescent sphere of Save On, I felt a strange sense of home. I could be led blind through the store, the layout having changed very little in the past 20 years or so. But gladly I had my eyes opened, lingering in the vast selection of organics and breezy bulk aisles, contemplating delights from the decent deli, sniffing the bakery, and gawking at the interior lanes, packed to the brim with processed foods. A little twirl around the magazines and books and voila, now this is a superstore! read more

Save On Foods has restored itself as my favorite grocery for the following reasons: 1. Wandering in on my way home from work, I decided I needed cheese, checking out their selection I found Guinness cheese (only found previously at Stong's in Dunbar so swish!), I also found garlic havarti, toffee cheese, and get this... chocolate cheese fudge! It's cheese with the fantastic qualities of chocolate fudge, which when you gave up the real thing for Lent is a god send! 2. Having selected an absurd amount of cheeses, I decided I needed some crackers, but I have a wheat allergy which makes this iffy, so I wantder to the cookie and cracker aisle and then - zing! - an organic section with gluten and wheat free crackers! Well this is a true find! Even better the prices for wheat free are not ridiculous (wheat allergies are typically expensive to have). 3. My boyfriend calls and we decide I will make dinner, but I'm lazy and have all this cheese and wheat free crackers I am excited to try, ergo do not feel like cooking, so I decide I will check the pre-prepped options, and I find a wide selection of pre-marinated meats, in addition to pork schnitzel (for those of us with no time to flatten pork) and fish. I also have a fish allergy so boyfriend now thinks I am a star for picking him up some pre-marinated mackrel with spice on it. 4. I decide to be ahead of the curve and pick up some ground meat for homemade chilli and am thrilled to easily identify a good range of quantiies of lean ground turkey. 5. I get to the checkout after this all and hand over my car keys with my garbled Save On More card and the cashier fixes me up with a new one and even makes sure I put it in my wallet straight away to not loose it. I think this one is great, anytime I can easily identify organic food, exotic/strange dessert cheese, and pre-prepped meat for dinner I'd say it's love. read more

I love this Save-On Foods, not only because it's so close and convenient, but they have an kick-ass bulk section! You can buy all sorts of herbs and spices in bulk, and it will end up being soooo much cheaper than buying a bottle of spices in the spices and baking section. They also have yummy cakes behind the glass (not in the grab and go section). And a great cheese section. The fact that they're open until midnight has saved me a number of times when I decided to commence late-night baking projects. And they have better deals than Safeway many times. However, Save-On is expensive and I try to save my grocery shopping up for Superstore/Cioffi's/Red Apple Market. P.S. the Parkade sucks.... really easy to hit people, or scratch your car against a post. read more

I never really shopped at Save Ons until I started working in the area. Frequent this location most often for lunch or for fruits (mid day snacks). The deli has lots of great options for lunch, I usually go for the prepackaged sandwiches (you can ask them to heat for you, they microwave and then grill panini style). Their soups are pretty good too. The white chicken chili is good I think it's called that anyway. I usually buy the 1/4 rotisserie chicken and do a side of the crunchy kale salad (watch out for the bits of blue cheese - I always pick them out of mine) or the greek salad is good too. Go early enough for lunch (before 12:30 pm) because I find when I have lunch later all the good stuff is gone and I guess they don't refill until it's completely empty. They've got some yummy cake options for dessert on their bakery side too - they used to give you cake samples but I'm not sure why they stopped doing that. The tuxedo and carrot cake are my faves - not a fan of raisins in carrot cake though. In the summer my colleagues and I stop by here to grab those mini cups of ice cream (haagen dazs) for less than $3 and perfect portion. Don't forget to check out the clearance/sale section behind the escalators there's always good deals on household stuff. read more

Free parking underground... I'm yours. I am all for a supermarket that has covered parking. I don't need to wash my veggies on the way to the car... ahaha.. I don't buy my veggies here. I used to come here a lot. On my way home from Aquafit (or aquasize, I'm not really sure what they call it... ) I would come here with one of my friends and walk up and down every aisle. There is usually a sale on one brand of yogurt, ice cream, block of cheese or something that I need. They also have a great selection of cereal and other goods that I can can't get (for cheap) from the produce markets I frequent. I love their croissants. Those are good to have in the morning... all buttery and dripping with jam that I also bought here. They also have fresh bread... uncut... so I can make fake Muffuleta because I am just jamming bread with meat and cheese and olives. They have coupons tacked to the shelf in front of products I wasn't gonna buy, but they lured the Asian in me with savings. read more

People trickle in here for lunch (they have a cafeteria- esque area serving soup, gargantuan lumberjack sandwhiches, sushi, sausage rolls, pre packed lunch salads, fries, wings, chinese food and Indian sometimes. Super helpful staff, I always go here for shopping for great produce. They have a pretty well stocked bulk and produce department, and they stack 12 pack can boxes resembling holidays etc every so often. I usually shop here because it's super convenient. They open early morning and close at midnight. Everything is good here. From the bread to the produce to the cheeses. Their brand, Western Family, is decent quality. I usually get some chicken wings or cheese, and of course some produce. Pharmacy is reliable too. I really recommend this store simply because it's simply good. read more

This Save-On Foods location is fairly decent. The parking lot is one of the more stranger ones in the city (kind of maze-like). The store is nice and clean, and the staff are always helpful. Over the years, I've noticed that sometimes Save-On puts things on a good sale, but then tends to completely sell out, which is sometimes annoying. Almost prefer they didn't go too crazy on the price, so at least the stock would still be there. Also, charging 5 cents for bags now is kind of meh.. I'd rather they give you a discount of 5 cents if you brought your own bag. read more

A very decent grocery store. Located under a highrise, with dedicated store parking. It definitely falls in the realm of the 'big box grocery stores', which you know I don't like, as it is large and it is a chain; I've become a fan of this one. The staff here make this place a nice place to shop. I forgot my water bottle once and they called me up to get it. Really thoughtful and definitely not necessary on their part. The check out people always are happy and the pharmacist is quick. Their selection is good alrhough I sometimes get confused with the layout. Watch out for bad meat in the meat department, I got some steak here last week that stinks right out of the package, this is not the first time this has happened, it smelled sour but since it cost ten bucks this I tried eating it to see if I can get away with it. I ate one chunk of this strip loin and got diarrehea the next day, the package said it still has three days before the best before date. The selection of meats is really going down hill compared to other Save On foods. I wonder if they are going out of business because that day, there was almost no selection for produce either, the racks were almost empty. read more
