I don't even know where to begin. Everyone was just so nice and respectful, and professional and happy to be at work! The receptionists were just lovely. The woman (I forget her name and job title, regrettably) who did my cleaning and X-rays was just a saint!! She went out of her way to calm me down and make me feel comfortable, gave helpful and encouraging advice, and just showed genuine compassion and understanding. The best part was the cleaning itself. Literally every single time I have told new dentists I have sensitive teeth. Still every single time the cleanings were downright torturous. But not here!!! I told her I had sensitive teeth, so she went out of her way to make sure it wouldn't hurt! I didn't feel a thing, except that awesome clean feeling afterward. It's been a few weeks now but I still just cannot get over how amazing the experience here was. Now I FINALLY have a dentist I can make my own permanently.

Out of frustration dealing with an unethical dental business, I went ahead and filed a complaint with my Dental Insurance company about Contemporary Dental Associates charging excessive fees and not responding to my repeated phone calls. ---------------------------------------------- Contemporary Dental Associates / Excessive charges Back in December 2022, I went for a four quadrants periodontal maintenance. The work performed by their hygienist was a mediocre. The insurance statement of benefits came in the mail and I was shocked that CDA got paid an exuberant amount of $1,400.00. This charge is seven times more than what my periodontist and my dentist charge for the same work. This charge is unfair and excessive. $1400 is what I was charged for a tooth implant couple of years ago. If I had known of this charge at the time of the service, I would have walked out and refused the treatment? My friend who referred me to this outfit informed me that she gets periodontal maintenance three times a year and we both have the same dental policy. Thus, she was charged much much less for the same treatment. In June 2022, my Periodontist performed the same work and got paid and accepted $200.00. In addition, in the past my dentist charged me the same as my periodontist for the same work. I called their office twice and spoke to two different people and explained to them that as a senior citizen and on a fixed income, I still have to pay other dentist for work done on my teeth and that this charge of $1400 puts me in a bind of debt. I was informed that billing department and office manager will get in touch with me very soon. It's been over two weeks and haven't heard from any one. On Friday 2/17/2023, I left a message for the office manager to call and haven't heard from him either. Very disappointed with the no response from this dental shady practice.

My temperature was taken upon arrival. To be honest, I'm always quite anxious before any dental appointment. I'm very comfortable with Dr. Arvilli, he explains everything and is very patient. I had a tooth that was bothering me for months but due to COVID concerns I had put off seeing the dentist. I was thrilled when I was seated and saw a TV on the wall! And the channel was NOT on any news show. I told Dr. Arvilli "5 stars for the tv!" It helped me to relax a bit. I'm VERY happy today, as my tooth is no longer causing me any discomfort. My dentist referred me to Dr. Sokoloff to have a molar pulled and implant. I was told by his…read morestaff that I needed a driver for the tooth pull. At my appointment, I learned that the reason for the driver was Dr. Sokoloff would not pull a tooth without sedation. I was reluctant to allow that (a tooth pull does NOT require sedation - a local anesthetic is what most dentists use) but I decided there must be a reason my dentist referred me to him and I followed through. I ended up with severe chronic pain in my jaw and my ear. I had nothing else happen besides him pulling my tooth and it was immediately after. Dr. Sokoloff emphatically denied that anything he did caused my pain. I went to my Primary Care Physician who examined me and concurred it was from the dental work and that she believed he had forced my mouth open too wide during anesthesia. I returned with a letter I had written, including the fact that there was no need for anesthesia in the first place, that my PCP assessed the pain from Dr. Sokoloff's rough treatment during sedation, and that I would NOT allow anesthesia for the implant so I could monitor his procedure and tell him if he was hurting me. He continued to deny it (scared of a lawsuit I'm sure) and refused to perform the implant without sedation. I wanted to find another dentist for the implant but....at that point, I realized it would be more costly to go elsewhere. I absolutely threatened him that if I woke up to jaw pain and ear ache I was suing him (not a great way to go into surgery). Fortunately, I had no pain after the implant. I suggest you have a regular dentist pull the tooth and go somewhere else for the implant. I won't go back and I absolutely do not recommend him. I think his insisting on sedation for a pulled tooth is to coverup anything that goes wrong during procedure. (Note: many oral surgeons do NOT require sedation for these procedures and without anesthesia (or the very expensive mal-practice insurance that is needed), the cost will be significantly less. Just find another oral surgeon.

Second attempt to give me a correct denture failed. Before I was given second wrong denture they demanded another $750. They treated me as if I made the two mistakes. The owner dentist did not apologize and his office manager verbally abused me. They both acted narcissistic! They refunded me but their incompetence and abusive treatment to me is why no one should go there. If you go there pray they don't make a mistake because the you will be their next victim. Beware!
