Today upon arriving at the saffron breakfast buffet in Cebu, they never took our drink order and I had to ask for a drink as I was almost finished with my meal...bad service. While the drive to the resort is fairly simple and the surrounding landscape is plain, everything changes the moment you arrive. Once inside the property is exquisite. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and offered a refreshing Cebu iced tea welcome drink. Check-in was quick and pleasant, and I was pleasantly surprised that my room was upgraded to a Deluxe Garden Room. The Deluxe Garden Room features a garden view, a large king size bed and a spacious open plan bathroom with a sunk-in tub and rain shower. The mini bar is complimentary on the first night and includes Cebu mango treats, orange and mango drinks and classic Filipino beer. There is also a mini coffee machine where one can make cappuccinos and mochas. A stay at the Crimson includes a complimentary breakfast buffet at their Saffron restaurant. I was amazed at the selection the buffet. Not only did they have an abundance of Filipino and Western dishes but there was also a congee and sushi bar. They pastry bar selection ranged from classic Filipino ensaymadas to native Cebu sticky rice. I also was impressed that they had fresh smoothies and juices along with a full coffee bar offering different specialty coffees. This hands down was the best breakfast buffet I experienced during my trip. Equally as impressive is the resort's pool area. Located right next to the beach, it offers breathtaking sunrise views and a serene atmosphere that is perfect for relaxing. One thing worth noting is that the resort rooms are quite far from the main lobby and restaurants, so guests will need to take the resort golf cart service. While walking is an option, it can be a bit of a trek. Thankfully, the golf carts are available 24 hours a day. Overall, I really enjoyed my start at Crimson Resort and Spa. The resort is beautiful, serene and peaceful. It is an ideal escape and perfect spot for a holiday vacation.

We paid to have breakfast included and it was a nice buffet style with local options as well as typical "American" breakfast items. We also ate in the main restaurant (desserts were amazing), had room service a couple times, and had several drinks and meals at the pool area. The service staff is very friendly and professional. The beach area is clean, however the water is very shallow and the tide goes out quite far leaving not the best view until it returns. Sunrise is amazing right over the water. We did the parasailing which was 3000/pax and was a one-way 15 minute ride down the beach. My daughter got a henna tattoo from S and J Henna Tattoo (on site) and was very happy with the job they did. The only downside I could mention is that we were there in mid-December and many local businesses were doing holiday parties during this time at the resort. We were provided notice each evening prior, however the events were onsite and quite loud - one day hosting two simultaneous events both using loud microphones. Not as relaxing as we had hoped. But they lasted only a few hours then the resort went back to normal. We were able to catch "Grabs" right out front to take us to shops/spas/restaurants when we wanted to get off site and of course those were very affordable - $2 US each way. Overall a great place to stay. I would highly recommend.

The beach front is nice and private, smooth white sand, free kayaking, great lounge chairs, and plenty of staff to assist. The pool is nice, with a shallow kid side (slide included). The breakfast buffet is top notch, and the regular lunch and dinner menu is beyond compare! My only complaint, the AC isn't the best, but otherwise it's a really nice resort at a fair price. I'd definitely stay here again. Prost?

Some rooms have a private pool. There is an infinity pool with a view of the harbor. The best part about this place is the quality of service and food. Housekeeping services your room two times a day refilling the mini bar with fresh baked cookies, candy (foreign and local), water, soda, and beer. The facility is somewhat dated, but well maintained. They had lovely and unique toiletries. The hotel restaurant was fantastic. The menu is worldly and ingredients were all fresh. Breakfast comes with your stay. The English breakfast was amazing and extremely filling. On my last day, they asked me how I liked the food and they offered any special requests. The lunch menu has more options than the dinner menu. They let you order off the lunch menu for dinner. Greatly accommodating and well worth every penny.

Saw some decent review of Abaca so decided to venture there for dinner. When my wife and I arrived at the gate the guard asked us if we had reservations. We said no and he went about asking the other guard if they had available seating. Waited about 10 minutes for them to get feedback that they can accommodate us. To my surprise when walking down to the restaurant (@100 feet) the place was just 1/3 occupied. They sat us towards the furthest seat from the beach view and when asked if we can get a closer seat the reception informed us that it's for in-house guest. Given that this place only has very few rooms I found it weird they would not accommodate given the number of empty seats. Anyways we were here to try to food so view not as important. We ordered the Ceaser salad and baked prawns for starters. The baked prawns was decent . For mains we had the prawn spaghetti and flat bread mushroom pizza. Photos uploaded. The portions were quite small and taste very bland. I think the pizza was ok as it's hard to screw up when it's only topped with cheese, mushroom and arugula. Over priced food with very bland taste. Total bill was over 4K. Highly NOT recommended as there are so many better places to eat with staff that actually want you to go there. This place made us feel unwelcome as we were not in house guest.

Service with a smile but really lip-service. Cable was not working, jacuzzi was broken, no hot water, and phone did not work. That made room service out of the question. The pool doesn't seem like it has been cleaned and weeks with the grime on the tiling. Every time I brought up an issue, the staff were apologetic, but nothing was done to improve the situation. You have to carry cash everywhere because you can't bill things to your room. This is supposed to be a luxury hotel. Staff were hit or miss. The pool girl was more interested in telling you the rules rather than making you feel welcome. Efficiency was not evident. Pool service was slow as mentioned elsewhere. Also, a service charge is added onto your bill. I spent way too much money here as you are trapped with nothing close by. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere and save a good chunk of money. This hotel should be a third of the price, considering how many amenities were not functioning. The rooms are a good size, but I don't really care for wicker used as indoor furniture. All the furnishings in the hotel feel worn and dated. Waterfront is a misnomer because the view is of the airport. I am taking this franchise off my list. The only thing worth mentioning is the breakfast buffet. However, I Purchased it with my room. The restaurant tends to be over priced, but the food is decent. The casino has a similar menu, but with increased prices.

Apparently it isn't sealed right. Turns out when I took a shower, the drain wasn't working (3) sliding door is broken (4). Air conditioner broke and wouldn't work. The food part is that maintenance came and fixed it 10 mins after we called it in. Other than that, rook is decent. Beach is horrible. Don't believe the pictures. Pool needs maintenance. Mold build up on tiles, steps, missing tiles and etc. When you get in the elevator, it smells like sewer. It's really thick. When you exit the basement, it doesn't even smell that strong as in the elevator. Would I stay here again? Yes for $40 usb night and not their regular prices of $352USD a night We got 3 rooms. Her soup making was on point and the spread was great too. I did her singing from around corner which made me sing the same tune in my head the rest of the meal. The hotel is a little off the beaten path but in a location to provide quick transit to Cebu City / Business and the airport. Also there a 1.6km route for running near the hotel if that's your thing too. Check in was a breeze and getting to my room was easy. Although it wasn't quick cause it seems like the elevators move slowly or and you can't really hear them when they come to your level for opening. Pool and gym are a highlight of the hotel. Neither was overly packed. I went to the Lounge bar/area on the top floor it provides great views and live music on the night I went. Chicken wings and fries could've been better. The room was just ok. I had a view of the water and another building under construction. There was an off scent when entering and felt like it dissipated over time until I left out and came back after some time. Bed was really comfortable and a lot of options came with my stay due to my member leave. Daily laundry was a + along with refreshing of the mini bar. I did return one night and my door was open. I sat at the end of the hallway cause I thought they were cleaning it but they were actually in the room beside mine and didn't know why my door was propped open. Overall I'd choose to stay here again due to a good location however maybe a different type of room and view.

IT'S A RIP OFF, A TOTAL WASTE OF HARD EARNED MONEY, ROOMS ARE DIRTY AND STAFF IS RUDE! Their online booking is very misleading and wrong information. I booked a Family Suite (PA) which describes as * Pool Access, * 1 Queen Size Bed * 2 Single Bed * 2 Baths and * 1 mini Kitchen. The receptionist insisted that the family suite I got was on the 3RD FLOOR and they had NO ELEVATOR. They also asked me to pay the full PHP15,600 as they said I haven't made any payment yet when the online booking was made. That was the opposite of what was said on the confirmation email saying that the amount to be paid at the property was PHP7,800. I asked for a manager to help verify the reservation. The receptionist looked at each other. One smirked while the other one just replied, "that's what really happens when you book online". They didn't give me a manager. My family was tired from the trip and we didn't know much of other places to go that may be vacant or can accommodate us by the time we get there. Our feet were black with dirt because their floors are not clean. We found out dirty streaks of mop marks. Looked like it was not cleaned for days or they might have used the same dirty water from the other rooms they also cleaned. Towels are limited to the number of guests for the room, stiff and rough. It smelled like it was recently used then air-dried. They ask for additional fee for towels too! I paid extra for an additional guest and they didn't even give me an extra bed, not even a rollover. These place is a RIP OFF! And with the price I paid, didn't even include breakfast. The place is so crowded with day users using the pool. You wont be able to use it not til night time when they are gone by 9PM. We noticed in the morning, the pool had dirty bubbles and GREASE residue on the corners! Water slides smelled like pee. And is not safe for kids! Wifi is horrible! works for an hour and kicks you out. We had to keep asking reception for a code which didn't work. We checked out and asked for a paper to leave comments and suggestions and they said they ran out. They didn't even give at least a blank paper where I can write on. I highly recommend STAYING AWAY from this hotel if you are big on safety, hygiene, and good service. Their hotel staff are rude, and they are not at all bothered to show it. I just learned after the stay too that this hotel has had several complaints from other local customers because they are unsanitary. This hotel is a big fat joke! Don't waste your money on them!

Waking up every morning to the sun rising over the ocean looking down on the blue coral is something that I will always remember and will bring me back to this hotel again and again. Something else that will bring me back to this resort in the future is the kindness of the staff as I found the service to be excellent; I really can't say enough about how polite, helpful and attentive the staff is here at Arterra. And something that I've never experienced before is that the owner himself made it a point to greet me by WhatsApp as I arrived in the morning at the Cebu airport to guide me thru checking in at his hotel and to see if I needed anything; I booked this room months in advance and he actually remembered when my plane landed. I checked in early and my room wasn't ready so he allowed me to use of another room temporarily to get freshened up and await in my room being prepared in the afternoon; he also came by my room to greet with me and my girlfriend the last night of our stay at Aterra. Last but not least the rooms were extremely comfortable, clean and well appointed with a balcony, flatscreen TV with Netflix and a kitchenette.
